Business models include an upgrade to Sensus connect with a 7-inch colour display, internet browser and access to web apps, plus sat-nav and HDD music storage – but you can buy the package as an option on other models. There’s an optional 12-speaker Harman Kardon version too, with DVD player, surround sound and 650 Watts.

While the cabin of the Volvo S60 is a pleasant place to be thanks to its comfortable seats and airy driving environment, some of the switchgear on the dash is confusingly laid out.

Some drivers will find it tricky to find a natural driving position in the S60 too as, bizarrely, the seat tilts when it raises and lowers. The centre armrest also obstructs gearchanges, which is annoying and seems ill-considered.

Sadly, despite its pleasant atmosphere, the Volvo S60 isn"t the most practical car in the compact executive class - passengers in the back get slightly less space than in an Audi A4 or BMW 3 Series, and headroom could be a problem for taller passengers.

Used TFT clocks DIM from S/V60, XC60, S80II, XC/V70III made in the years 2014 to 2017 (the unit from V40 series can only be used in V40 cars - it has different mechanical shape than x60, x70, x80)

make sure that you located the TFT DIM that matches the transmission type of the target car - Automatic (PRND display) or Manual (+ Gear -) on the right side of the display. Diesel/petrol fuel type of the donor car does NOT matter.

2pcs original Volvo terminals for repair (P/N 30656697) or 2 used terminals from a white DIM Volvo connector which is a standard for all Volvos starting from 2005

Then press DECODE CEM. We must warn you this process can take up to 24 hours(but on average it usually does not take more than 12 hours). During the whole process you can interrupt the decoding process and continue later. If you do the CEM PIN decoding then you no longer need to do it again. Thanks to this you can also make other changes in the vehicle configuration including the TFT retrofit. After this process is done you will receive an email to the account you put in in the beginning.

Then choose CAR CONFIGURATION and then “Car configuration wizard”. Then you only need to choose the “TFT retrofit” wizard. Make sure DIM is connected.

2 new fixing wires (Volvo P/N 30656697 or used) must be connected to position 7 and 8 to the white DIM connector. Keep plugging in the wires into the “body” of the connector until you can hear them click properly. Then you just place and click in the blue thingy to its place. If the wires do not sit they are supposed to the blue thingy will not stick.

Connect DiCE again, turn the ignition key to position II and open VDASH again on your computer. Go to “Car configuration wizard” and choose TFT retrofit again.

VDASH will begin to look for the newly connected TFT DIM. If all wires are correctly plugged in, the update process will begin. If not then check the connecting of the wires again using the multimeter.

Your vehicle will restart itself many times during the process and at the end you will see a picture of the vehicle, the state of fuel and more. At the very beginning the incorrect measures can be displayed, but after a short trial run it should be fixed. The kilometres will also automatically reappear.

You can change and move the clock motivesonly when the engine is running (this does not have any specific explanation). The designated motive is Elegance(grey or brown). It is possible to reprogramme this motive to a blue version “R-design” (using car configuration > advanced settings > Advanced TFT DIM settings > Screen Skins > DIM: R-design menu), motives Ecoand Powerremain unchanged.

1. Temporarily disconnect new, already connected cables from the white DIM connector, and connect the original ones2. Start up the engine (SCL  the steering lock should loosen up)3. While the engine is on disconnect the original DIM connector and reconnect TFT DIM4. Turn the engine off and lock it5. SCL will not turn on again (unless you connect the original pack). This will save you shipping costs, as SCL becomes used with time, but not yours!

The eagerly awaited all-new Volvo V40 has arrived in Australia promising class-leading dynamics and styling, along with state-of-the-art features and the world"s first pedestrian airbag.

The five-door V40 hatch is Volvo’s contender in the premium hatchback class that includes established euro marques such as the Audi A3, BMW 1 Series and the latest-generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class. Top shelf Volkswagen Golf models are in there, too.

However, despite the fact that Volvo is still considered a semi-premium brand in Australia compared with its German rivals, Volvo has priced the V40 range almost line-ball with the all-new A-Class.

The 132kW/300Nm 2.0-litre five-cylinder petrol T4 Kinetic with Volvo’s six-speed Geartronic auto transmission is priced from $41,990, but can also be specified with the Luxury trim for $45,990.

The Volvo V40 is also the first Volvo car to introduce Electrical Power Assist Steering (EPAS), which better supports the integration of safety systems such as Lane Keeping Aid and Park Assist Pilot.

Volvo has also upgraded its stability and traction control systems, with the V40 gaining a raft of new features such as a roll angle sensor, engine drag control, trailer stability assist and torque vectoring for reduced understeer.

The Volvo V40 offers two world-first safety systems – the Pedestrian Detection System, as well as the state-of-the-art Pedestrian Airbag Technology. The latter operates by using sensors in the front bumper that detect contact between the car and a person.

The V40 is also the first Volvo to feature several upgraded safety systems including the City Safety System, which is now active at speeds up to 50km/h (previously 30km/h).

There’s also Volvo’s new Park Assist Pilot that can detect a parking spot 1.2 times the length of the car, followed by an audible signal before the steering is taken over by the system.

The Driver Alert System is another high-tech safety unit available on the Volvo V40 that integrates several systems including Lane Keeping Aid, Road Side Information and Active High Beam. Active Bending Lights that swivel around bends are standard on Luxury and R-Design variants.

Not surprisingly, the Volvo V40 has already been awarded the top five-star safety rating by ANCAP, and holds the record for the highest overall safety score ever recorded by overseas affiliate Euro NCAP.

The V40 is also the first Volvo to be designed around its ‘Human-centric’ design language; boasting several new innovative features including an eight-inch adaptive digital display and active TFT display. The fully graphic display replaces the traditional instrument cluster and allows drivers to choose between three distinct themes: Elegance, Eco and Performance, which changes the central display from a speed scale to a red-lit tachometer.

Other standard features across the V40 range include a five-inch infotainment display (upgradable to seven-inch), eight-speaker high performance audio system, rear parking sensors, LED daytime running lights, auto lights and wipers, cruise control and City Safety.

Choosing the Luxury specification adds electrically operated front seats, leather trim, leather-wrapped steering wheel with metal inlays, illuminated gearshift knob, active bi-xenon lights, high-performance audio system with seven-inch display, satellite navigation and reversing camera.

Also available on V40 Luxury and R-Design models is the Driver Support Pack, priced at $5000. This combines four significant driver aid features including BLISS (with Cross Traffic Alert and Closing Vehicle Warning), Adaptive Cruise Control, Driver Alert System and the new Park Assist. Volvo claim the value of this pack is just under $9000.

Both the lesser-powered petrol engine and both diesel engines are available with Super, the next trim level. This adds bigger alloys, leather and cloth seats and upgrades the infotainment system, including sat-nav, an 8.8in display and a 7.0in secondary TFT screen. Super trim, chosen with the lower-powered diesel engine, is likely to be the best-selling version of the Giulia.

I went for the S60 with the new Volvo D4 engine which can do 0-60 in under 7secs but Government official MPG is still over 70 and CO2 99g. I have now had the car for six weeks and find it very pleasant to drive and very quick if you want it to be. It"s comfortable and well equipped with a decent stereo system which has a 20GB hard drive onto which you can load your own music or listen via a USB key or bluetooth. It also comes with SatNav and Bluetooth as standard. The bluetooth "remembers" up to 5 phones and so makes it easy for any one in the family to automatically connect on entry to the car.

I upped the spec on mine to include the TFT display which gives three options for the screen which is fun, Folding Mirrors and rain sensing wipers. Having had the car now, it only comes with rear parking sensors and I wish I had ordered the optional front sensors also as the driving position is quite low and gives no reference points on the front of the car to judge distance.

Being a Volvo, it has all sorts of safety kit including a big brother braking system which automatically prevents you from running into the car in front or a pedestrian at speeds under 30 mph. I asked my wife to test if that was working but she would not stand in front of the car to try!

Finally, my wife is less keen on it as she does not like the stop start system at traffic lights (despite being told she can switch it off) and the automatic parking brake. To be honest, for a while I felt I needed an extra hand when parking as the key socket and stop/start button are on the left and the handbrake button is low down on the right. It"s just different after 40 years of driving cars with a central handbrake lever on my left and conventional ignition key to the right. Volvo say their system is safer as ignition keys have wrecked countless knees in accidents and that sound quite a good reason for their layout!
