ROAD focused and track inspired, the 2021 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS packs the ultimate punch. Rebuilt from the ground up to deliver the fastest, lightest, and most technologically advanced Speed Triple to date, it’s a sports naked game changer.

Modern technology includes full LED lighting with self-cancelling indicators, a daytime running light, ride-by-wire throttle with switchable riding modes, cruise control, a keyless fob, electronic steering lock, and multi-function TFT display.

The most powerful Speed Triple RS ever, the 1200 features an 1160cc liquid cooled, 12 valve, DOHC, inline 3-cylinder with peak power reaching an exhilarating 132kW of power and 125Nm of torque.

Both feature OC-ABS, Triumph’s optimised cornering ABS, which uses an inertial measurement unit to track roll, pitch and yaw acceleration rates. The system then calculates lean angle and precisely controls the ABS and traction control.

Both front and rear are fully adjustable with preload, rebound and compression damping. Up front, a full colour 5.0-inch TFT screen is easy to read, and displays a raft of information at a glance, including fuel usage, trip distance and lap timing.

Smart connectivity gives you the ability to use Google turn-by-turn navigation, GoPro control, phone and music controls What the screen displays is also customisable, with two different themes and many display options.

Changing between the five available riding modes (Rain, Road, Sport, Track and Rider) is quick and easy. We hit up some of the best riding roads Sydney has to offer to test them all out, and Speed Triple RS left us with a grin from ear to ear.

The combination makes for a real premium naked sports bike vibe. The handlebar mounted buttons feel good, and the electronic push button steering lock is cool. The addition of cruise control on what’s basically a race bike also adds to the versatility of the Speed Triple.

We think the 2021 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS is the perfect bike. You can ride with your buddies one day and rip it around a race track the next, and the real potential of this motorcycle is difficult to reach on any public roads.

The Street Triple R gets premium Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tires as standard delivering sharp and precise handling, as well as excellent stability and grip on the road.

Switchable ABS brings a new level of control to the Street Triple R, while traction control manages both power and torque when the traction is compromised, maximising rider safety and control.

To navigate the new instruments on the Street Triple R there are new switchcubes with an intuitive 5-way joystick control that have been ergonomically optimised to be easy to use.

The engine set-up for the Street Triple S delivers more performance than the previous generation across the rev range, particularly low-down and in the mid-range. The S tune provides more peak power, increasing to 112 HP @ 11,250rpm as well as an increase in peak torque, climbing to 54 Ft-Lb @ 9,100rpm.

The Street Triple RS engine delivers the highest level of power ever for a Street Triple, making it the ultimate performance street motorcycle. Peak power is increased, delivering 121 HP @ 11,700rpm and peak torque provides 57 Ft-Lb @ 10,800rpm.

The Street Triple R and RS are both fitted with a new slip-and-assist clutch system that brings a lighter action and helps reduce clutch lever effort for the rider. The new system delivers even more rider comfort and control and acts to reduce wheel hop and chatter from the rear end under heavy braking.

This Street Triple line-up all have a higher specification brake set-up than the previous generation. The Street Triple RS has range-topping Brembo M50 4-piston radial monobloc calipers on the front, with ratio and span adjustable lever and a Brembo single piston sliding caliper on the back. Powering the Triumph Street Triple RS is a 765cc, liquid-cooled inline-triple that produces 121 hp and 58 lb-ft of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox that features a bi-directional quick-shifter as standard. It also features comprehensive rider aids, including ABS, switchable traction control, and five riding modes — Road, Rain, Sport, Track, and a Rider-configurable mode. You can tweak the RS’ ride to maximize handling with fully adjustable suspension — a Showa front fork and Öhlins STX40 mono-shock at the rear. Braking is handled by Brembo hardware at both ends. You’ll always know what’s going on because it has a crisp 5-inch full-TFT display that lets you toggle through all the bike’s settings and adjust them to your liking. The RS also has the MyTriumph connectivity system, enabling GoPro interaction, turn-by-turn navigation, and music and phone operation.

Mechanically, it’s the same story. Just over two thousand miles … that’s nothing. The bike had its scheduled 600-mile “break-in” service performed by an authorized Triumph dealership. Its next scheduled service isn’t for another 4,600 miles! Perhaps YOU would enjoy the privilege of properly breaking in this motorcycle.
