triumph street triple tft display for sale
The Triumph Street Triple 765 range has been overhauled for 2023, with the British firm claiming the line-up has more power, more technology, and better handling than ever before.
There are three bikes in the 2023 range, with the Triumph Street Triple R acting as a base model, and the Street Triple RS and all-new limited-edition Street Triple Moto2 Edition offering higher performance and spec.
According to Triumph, the updated engine has “improved responsiveness and acceleration” with revised gearing and final drive. It is complimented by a new “freer-flowing” exhaust system. The three models are also fitted with an up-and-down quickshifter.
The new Street Triple range also benefits from new optimised cornering ABS and switchable optimised cornering traction control, while the riding modes have been upgraded with “more dynamic throttle maps”.
Living up to their high-spec nature, the RS and Moto2 models also add a 5-inch TFT display and all-LED lighting and daytime running lights. The R model features multifunction instruments with a much smaller TFT display.
While local pricing is yet to be confirmed, the new 2023 Triumph Street Triple range is expected to arrive in Australian showrooms in the first quarter of next year.
We have been made aware that customers of the New Speed Triple 1200 RS with Apple iPhone handsets will initially have limited functionality using the My Triumph Connectivity System. Ever since its inception in 2007, the Street Triple has been the motorcycle to beat in the middleweight naked category. And things are only getting better hereon as Triumph has taken the wraps off the 2023 Street Triple 765 range with truckloads of updates. There"s also a new-for-2023 limited edition Street Triple Moto2 edition, alongside the pre-existing Street Triple R and RS variants.
The highlight of the 2023 Street Triple range is the updated 765cc, triple-cylinder mill. Using its Moto2 learnings, the British manufacturer has revamped the engine with new pistons, intake, exhaust, and higher compression ratio to squeeze out a class-leading 130PS (128 horsepower) and 80Nm (59 pound-feet) on the 2023 Street Triple RS. Similar but toned-down updates follow for the Street Triple R, which now churns out 118 horsepower and 59 pound-feet. In addition, the two Street Triples have revised gear ratios (some gears being as much as six percent smaller) so that the Street Triples compromise neither top-end nor mid-range. There is a compromise, though, and it’s the 15-liter fuel tank capacity that has decreased by around two liters.
With more power, you often need better electronics, and the Street Triple has them. The Street Triple R makes the headlines here as it switches to a Trident 660-derived TFT-LCD instrument cluster. Traction control, cornering ABS, all-LED lights, a bi-directional quickshifter, and riding modes are standard across all models, making the lineup quite savvy. The RS’ electronics remain more or less unchanged for 2023, though the bikemaker claims the electronics are smarter than before.
The next big update comes to ergonomics. The Street Triple now features a 12mm wider handlebar partnered with a sharper steering geometry. Though standard across the twins, the RS is undeniably the sportier sibling here and boasts a spacer outback to make it more front-heavy than the R. Similarly, the Street Triple R now employs Brembo M4.32 calipers up top while the RS switches to top-shelf Brembo Stylemas. Triumph has left the suspension package as it is, though. The R has Showas at both ends, whereas the RS keeps its Showa forks and Ohlins shock.
Finally, Triumph has also updated the Street Triple’s design. The motorcycles, inspired by the Speed Triple 1200 RS, no longer boast a windshield and look sharper than ever. Things have gotten rather vibrant too, as the RS variant comes in Carnival Red and Cosmic Yellow colors, alongside the R’s subtle Silver Ice and Crystal White options. But if vibrant is what you want, it doesn’t get any better than the Triumph Street Triple RS Moto2 Edition!
New for 2023, the Street Triple lineup gains a Moto2 edition. It’s the new flagship model, and it lives up to the flagship tag. This is because the Moto2 edition boasts Ohlins NiX forks up top partnered by a clip-on handlebar that’s 18mm lower than the RS. Carbon fiber is aplenty as well and you can spot it on the front fender and side panels. What catches the eye most, however, are the vibrant Triumph Racing Yellow and Crystal White liveries replete with Moto2 graphics.
The new Triumph Street Triple R and RS are priced at $9,995 and $12,595, respectively. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line Moto2 edition will set you back by $15,395 and only 1530 units will go into production (765 per color). We expect the motorcycles to reach American dealerships by early 2023 but make sure to book your Moto2 edition well in advance, thanks to its limited production.
As mentioned above, the most significant difference between the Speed Triple 1200 RR and its street-naked counterpart is the addition of a semi-fairing. The semi fairing draws inspiration from those on cafe-racers from back in the day, but there are some neo-retro design elements like the round LED headlight. Compared to the Speed Triple RS, other changes include a clip-on handlebar and a different footpeg position that puts the rider in a slightly more committed riding triangle. The bike also features Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 electronically adjustable semi-active suspension.
The rest of the motorcycle is largely similar to the RS. Powering the bike is the same 1,160cc inline-triple with peak output figures of 177.5 hp and 92 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox that you can bang through with a bi-directional down quick-shifter that comes as standard equipment.
Triumph has also equipped the Speed Triple 1200 RR with the same electronic suite on the RS. This includes the 6-axis IMU-assisted traction control and ABS, five ride modes — Rain, Road, Sport, Track, and a Rider-customizable mode — and the 5-inch TFT display.
