When I removed the back glass I could also tell that I was not the first to notice since with the glass off I could see there were smudgy finger prints across the scratch where I guess someone tried to rub it out with their finger. So while it"s a little disappointing that the scratch was noticed at the factory and not handled there I totally understand that things happen it was probably small enough to not trigger any action. After all it"s barely noticeable and had I not been staring at the screen watching the update I probably would never had noticed just playing the game.

Well I managed to fix it. I had once bought a plastic polish cream and tried my luck. I know that the TV might have some anti glare coating. I applied some cream on a soft cloth and very gently rubbed it in. In a few seconds the scratch vanished. I then quickly cleaned the screen with some household multi purpouse cleaner and the screen was good as new.

p.s. I did ask around some companies who"s products are being sold on ebay to fix such scratches and all of them said that they do not recommend the use of such products on TV screens ....
