This high quality touch screen is a controller on its own, because it has own processor onboard and does not rely on the processor of the 3D printer or CNC machine. I don"t very like the product itself.. crappy firmware.. if you click on screen where you should not, the printer stop.. I will work on replacement firmware.. but, nothing to say on Digitmakers.. they are not responsible for the firmware :)

The integrated mainboard driver of 1.4 MKS Gen L V1.0- Mega2560 R3 RAMPS 3D Printer Controller Board has been developed by Makerbase to optimize existing problems on the open-source controller board such as Ramps 1.4. This product offers more flexible options for users.
MKS BASE-L is a feature-rich all-in-one electronics solution for Reprap and other CNC devices. it features an onboard ATmega2560. Its five motor outputs are powered by A4982 stepper drivers. the board can use the same firmware like Ramps1.4. MKS BASE-L is designed to be flexible in user power source availability, enabling any power supply from 12 V-24 V.
MKS BASE-L is suitable for 3D printer manufacturers on batch production and is used as the main control board. Compared to the Ramps1.4, it adds E1 heating output.
I flashed and configured previously the Marlin v2.1-bugfix branch to work with the 3d printer. Everything works fine, except the newly bought MKS_PWC (I connected every pin except the TFT display, which would be the RepRap Discount controller. The signal pin never stays high. The D11 pin being used by my bltouch sensor, I tried to set the D6 pin for the PWC control (in configuration.h).
Also, if I put the PWC signal pin on a +5V, the printer stays on, so my problem really is that no high voltage gets to the signal pin of the PWC chip.
Get mks from suppliers on Alibaba.com when reliable parts are needed to build new laser printers at a plant. Repair shops will find them useful to have on hand as well. What are the changes in the configuration for the the MKS-TFT32 display? I am using the latest version of Marlin 1.1 RC8 and I want to keep using that version.
I did that and it appeared to apply properly and I recompiled Marlin with the #define REPRAP_DISCOUNT_FULL_GRAPHIC_SMART_CONTROLLER uncommented. I uploaded Marlin but it is still not working. Any other settings?
I use an iMac and had the same problem with the weird icons. I found that the problem has to do with the filetype .bin which is copied in a specific way on a Mac. In the end I copied the files to the sd-card via the terminal command “cp -X” (https://developer.mbed.org/users/takuo/notebook/copying-bin-files-to-frdm-kl25z46z-using-cpmv-comm/). Worked for me!
Same here. I got sent v1.3 of the tft28 display. I turned it on without the sd card and it says “printready” with a bunch of blank icons. I am doing everything right. The SD card is set to fat32 with the 3 files in place. I have tried firmware 1.1.5 and 1.2. Both firmwares will update, but right after, it just says “spi loader PID Erasing”
I just wanted to add that I was having this issue and following this step solved it, at least for me. I had tried to update the MKS-TFT28 firmware before installing Marlin, and that’s when the odd images showed. I installed Marlin and then reinstalled the MKS-TFT28 firmware and all is back to normal.
Hello, i’m using TFT28 on RAMPS 1.4 , is there any way to make it work when i print from computer ? to display temperatures and other info like 12864 graphic LCD does ?
but if i print from COMPUTER through USB the TFT28 remain in main screen, does not show temperatures , fan speed or progress of printing like other lcd displays.
I have followed the instrucitons and the printer was working fine. Then i added the second extruder and for the life of me I can’t get it to see the temp of the second extruder. I changed the pin out to try another pin and it still didn’t work. I can change the Bed temp Pin and it will read it. So i know the board is good. I just need to figure out what i need for that second extruder
Hi I got the mks 1.5 board and the touch screen 3.2. Evey thing seems to work, till i go to print from the usb. Then the printer just sits there. I can move all axis I can pre heat and home all axis. and i can print from computer but stand alone cant print. Any ideals whats wrong
I have a MK Gen board, a TFT28 and a WIFI module. When the wifi module is plugged into the TFT28 and power is applied to the Gen board nothing happens. Without the wifi the Gen and the TFT power up no problem. Is this a firmware problem? Or a power problem. Right now I am on the bench using USB cable to power everything.
