The Vespa Primavera, Primavera Sport and Primavera Touring come with an i-get (Italian Green Experience Technology) 4-stroke, 3-valve per cylinder, air-cooled engine with electronic injection, which is available in 50 and 150 cc versions. This engine represents the state-of-the-art benchmark in its sector in every detail, from the exhaust to the internal design of the transmission cover to the new air filter, which is designed to ensure a smooth, quiet and pleasurable ride.
Vespa Primavera celebrates its first fabulous 50 years. The first version of what would become a timeless classic first appeared at the Milan Motorcycle Show (EICMA) in 1967 and was a revolution: small, nimble, propelled by a perky engine, Primavera gave free flight to several generations and remained in continuous production until 1982. It became a legendary model, but also one of the most spectacular commercial successes in Vespa"s history.
Today Vespa Primaveraembodies all the values that, half a century ago, made it successful. Young, innovative, technologically avant-garde, agile and dynamic, and environmentally friendly, Vespa Primavera is a modern bike, inheriting the freshness and joie de vivre of its progenitor.
The 2018 Vespa Primavera is a further improvement offering a series of updates that increase comfort, safety and renew the style. The biggest change is the size of the wheel rims: 12", made of aluminium alloy and with a new five-spoke design, they are the largest in Vespa"s history. This provides greater stability, improved safety, and better holding on all surfaces and in all road conditions. The LEDlighting technology, now adopted for both the front headlight and the rear light, boost active safety.
The Bike Finder and the seat remote control now are standard. Vespa Primavera also benefits from other changes to its line that distinguish it from previous versions. Indeed, the characteristic "tie" on the chrome front and the chrome ridge on the front mudguard are both new. The new Vespa Primavera is available in displacements of 50 cc, 125 and 150, latest generation four-stroke engines with high performance and low fuel consumption.
VESPA PRIMAVERA 50° ANNIVERSARIO. Vespa Primavera made its debut at the 1967 Milan Motorcycle Show before going on sale in 1968. This was a year that made its mark on Western history and culture. From the University of California to the streets of Paris, a new social group, young people, became self-aware and claimed their place in a society that was changing tumultuously. It was the year when every structure was smashed, of a revolution that affected technology, architecture, design, culture and the arts with music providing a powerful soundtrack.
Vespa Primavera made its first appearance in that tumult of ideas and fervour, becoming the star by making two wheels and an engine available to the changing world: it became the heroine of an unforgettable season. Nimble, innovative lines, sparkling performance, easy and fun to ride - Vespa Primavera was a breath of fresh air in a world hungry for change. A Vespa that, in continual evolution, has become an example of style and technology. Vespa Primavera 50° Anniversario celebrates that extraordinary time by making its own all the technical and stylistic values that made the first Primavera such a success and expressing them with all of Vespa’s typical cutting edge technology. Vespa Primavera 50° Anniversario, fitted with the 50cc 4T and 125 i-get engines, stands out for its new Light Blue and Brown colourswith coordinated saddles, the sleek grey finish of the five-spoke wheels and of course the elegant logo on the back.
VESPA PRIMAVERA S.A new version of the most beloved Vespa that adds boldness and sportiness to the classic Primavera. On top of all the new features that enrich the range, Vespa Primavera S incorporates a fully digital instrument panel with a 4.3" full colour TFT display. It is a true revolution for Vespa, which for the first time in its history boasts a completely digital colour dashboard. The instrument panel, as well as displaying all the classic information, such as speed, total and partial mileage, ambient temperature, and fuel level, works as a display for the latest release of the VMP (Vespa Multimedia Platform).
The VMP app adds a series of features to the Vespa control panel for processing and managing an incredible amount of information sent to the rider about the vehicle status and the route being followed. The system also allows you to use the keys on the handlebars to answer calls and to use the smartphone"s voice commands to make calls or play music by activating a playlist.
VESPA PRIMAVERA TOURING. Is inspired by the vocation for travelling that Vespa has always embodied in its long history thanks to a special set up. The Touring version includes all the changes and upgrades of the Vespa Primavera starting with the 12" twin wheels, and is enriched by chromed front luggage rackand rear luggage racks, as seen in the most classic Vespa iconography, which considerably increases the load capacity and readies the most loved scooter in the world for any adventurous journey.
The dedicated seatand elegant top fairingare also part of its Touring equipment. The new Vespa Primavera, Primavera S and Primavera Touring are driven by modern one-cylinder four-stroke 125 and 150 cc engines,air-cooled and equipped with electronic injection and 3-valve distribution. Each detail from the exhaust to the inner structure of the transmission casing was designed to provide a smooth, quiet, and comfortable ride. The control unit now contains a barometric sensor, which ensures always-optimum combustion under all conditions and at all altitudes. The engine power and torque delivered thus reach new levels of steadiness and reliability, also in city traffic, characterised by continuous “stop and go”.
The engines are absolutely environmentally friendly and perform at the top of their category: the i-get 125 cc engine delivers power and torque of respectively 7.9 kW at 7,700 rpm and 10.4 Nm at 6,000 rpm, while the 150 cc reaches a maximum power of 9.5 kW at 7,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 12.8 Nm at 6,500 rpm. These values, together with the well-known low weight typical of all Vespas, make the “small body” Vespa especially perky both under city traffic conditions and in open-road stretches. This brilliant performance comes together with extremely low fuel consumption: the special design of the engine and the solutions adopted for the various components make it possible to achieve a consumption of 44.2 km/l for the 125 and 40.3 km/l for the 150, as measured in the WMTC cycle. Its large 8-litre tank, gives Vespa Primavera a full riding range: on a full tank, it is possible to cover 364 km with the 125 cc version and 328 km with the 150 cc model.
The Vespa 75th is a limited edition that is only available during 2021. This once-in-a-lifetime gem is destined to have hearts aflutter and pulses racing.
75 YEARS since the Vespa patent filed on 23 April 1946 to 2021, Vespa traversed the global roads in style. A period that continues to see Vespa lead new trends in social customs, music, youth culture while accompanying the growth of countries and continents to become a timeless icon, a symbol of contemporary living, and an example of Italian style and technology. Available in 2021 to celebrate Vespa’s 75th anniversary as a true citizen of the world, a glamorous new special series, Vespa 75th, has been created for the Vespa Primavera 150 and Vespa GTS 300 cc. As with the very first Vespa, the Vespa 75th body is all-steel and presented in “Giallo
75th”, an original metallic yellow, developed specifically for the new series as a contemporary interpretation of hues in vogue of the 1940s. The colour, ‘Zolpho’ evokes heritage, innovative spirit, and a fashion-loving style of Vespa. The side panels and front mudguard display the number 75 in a slightly stronger shade, creating a quietly elegant tone-on-tone effect, which is repeated on the front shield traditional “tie” in opaque pyrite yellow.
A special saddle in smoke grey with piping, wheel rims painted in grey with a machine finish, and a host of chrome-plated detail, including the horn cover, instrument cluster surround, muffler cover, the rear-view mirrors, and, on the GTS , foldaway passenger footpegs. The chrome rear luggage rack, distinctive to Vespa 75th, provides a mount for the 75th embossed round bag shaped to replicates the original spare wheel holder. Made from velvety-soft nubuck leather in the same colour as the saddle, the bag has a shoulder strap for easy carrying, and clips on the luggage rack with a quick-release mechanism and waterproof cover. The series is identified with a plate behind the leg shield (not numbered).
The Vespa 75th represents the top of the Vespa range: all the models of this anniversary version are equipped with a 4.3” TFT colour display, while the fully digital instrument cluster makes the best possible use of the capabilities of the Vespa MIA smartphone connectivity system.
In addition to all this, to mark the exclusivity of this special celebratory series, each Vespa 75th comes with a Welcome Kit including a vintage steel Vespa plate, a personal Owner’s Book, and eight collector postcards with images from the eight decades of the Vespa story.
The Vespa 75th sports all sorts of details that make it a true classic, such as its metallic yellow, called Giallo 75th, a contemporary interpretation of the colours that were so in vogue during the Forties and seen here on the steel body. A special badge with the series name on the rear of the shield is another celebratory touch that marks this momentous occasion.
Vespa’s revered iconic soul meets its more modern counterpart. It comes with a 4.3” full-colour TFT display with integrated Vespa MIA to offer the best infotainment package with an icon-based navigation function. The GTS 75th also includes an icon-based navigation function.
two years after it was announced piaggio‘s all-electric scooter, the vespa elettrica, finally has a price and is set to go on sale. piaggio has shared the starting price of €6,390, or a little over $7,300.
the italian manufacturer’s vespa’s first all-electric scooter, which was first revealed at EICMA 2016 in italy means easy, but natural driving, with total connectivity and silence, customization and accessibility.preorders are available now in europe ahead of the scooter’s ship date later this year, while customers in the US and china will have to wait until early 2019.
at the heart of vespa ‘elettrica’ is a power unit capable of delivering continuous power of 2 kW and peak power of 4 kW, achieving superior performance to a traditional 50 cc scooter, especially with acceleration, which benefits from the smooth delivery of electric motors. it provides an agile and enjoyable ride on urban roads, while countering pollution from an acoustic point of view.
vespa’s electric scooter is not just a silent, environmentally-friendly and technologically advanced vehicle; it is also highly connected: the features offered by a new version of the vespa multimedia platform, a system that connects the smartphone to the vehicle, that can be managed through a new interface that incorporates digital colour instrumentation in a TFT display.
Vespa GTS300 is the most powerful scooter from the brand, equipped with a 300cc engine. It has been launched in the European market, after its debut in 2018 EICMA.
The GTS300 HPE is the most powerful engine that a Vespa has ever received. It uses a 278cc single-cylinder High Performance engine, that delivers 23.8 BHP at 8250 RPM and 26 Nm of peak torque at 5250 RPM.
Features onboard include a LED headlights, LED tail lights, Vespa MIA Bluetooth connectivity system, TFT colour display, incoming call and message alert and a USB charger.
In terms of design, it is the same old retro-styled Vespa. The iconic round headlamps, round mirrors, old-style scooter bodywork and the chrome elements are retained in this scooter.
As for the India launch, it is unlikely to make a debut here. Such a high capacity scooter would not be well received in the budget and mileage oriented market. In a near future, Vespa could consider bringing it to the Indian shores.
The Sprint S may be sporty but isn’t afraid to embrace technology, with its innovative instrument panel with multi-functional full-colour TFT display, connected to the Vespa MIA app that gives the rider an incredible wealth of useful information. In addition to details such as the state of the bike and trip data, it allows you to answer telephone calls using buttons on the handlebar and to use your smartphone voice commands to make calls and manage your music playlist.
Heir to that iconic generation of sporty, nimble Vespas that swarmed European towns and cities during the Swinging Sixties, today’s Vespa Sprint S 125 has most definitely inherited the fresh, carefree spirit that defined both those scooters of yesteryear and their riders, with the welcome injection of a healthy dose of state-of-the-art twenty-first century technology.
There’s no two-wheeler more iconic than the Vespa scooter, and in 2021, the company turns 75 years old. To celebrate, the company is selling anniversary editions of its classic step-throughs.
Founded in 1946, Vespa scooters have been in production ever since, sold all over the world and serving as everything from around-town runabouts to touring rigs to race machines. Vespa has sold almost 19 million scooters worldwide in the past seven+ decades, building 1.8 million in the past decade alone.
The 75th anniversary scooters are restyled versions of the Primavera 50 and 150 (US customers also get the GTS300, but not up here). Along with the special paint, Vespa’s thrown lots of chrome trim at these machines, and there’s a leather bag for the rack, too, meant to emulate the classic “spare tire” that Vespas used to come with.
The 75th anniversary edition of the Primavera 50 will cost $5,095 plus taxes and fees. The Primavera 150 version will cost $6,345. Vespa says they’ll be in Canada in June. More details below!
From 23 April 1946, the patent filing date, to 2021: seventy-five years of history during which the Vespa has taken the roads of the entire world up by a whole new gear. A period that has seen the Vespa lead new trends in social customs, music, youth culture, accompany the growth of countries and continents and become a timeless icon, a symbol of contemporary living, an example of Italian style and technology.
To celebrate the Vespa’s 75th anniversary as a true citizen of the world, a new special series, Vespa 75th, has been created for the Vespa Primavera (in 50 and 150cc models) and the Vespa GTS(300cc). It will be available in the US in May/June, and for 2021 only. A unique offer, which is also presented on the VESPA.COM website and the Vespa social media channels.
The Vespa 75th body, as always in all-steel, is presented in “Giallo 75th”, an original metallic yellow. Developed specifically for the new series as a contemporary interpretation of hues in vogue in the 1940s, the color evokes the heritage, innovative spirit and fashion-loving style of the Vespa. The side panels and front mudguard display the number 75 in a slightly stronger shade, creating a quietly elegant tone-on-tone effect, which is repeated on the front of the scooter, where the traditional “tie” is an opaque “Giallo Pirite” yellow.
The rear luggage rack, another distinctive feature of the Vespa 75th, is also chrome-plated: it houses a round bag whose shape replicates the typical spare wheel holder. Made from soft nubuck leather in the same color as the saddle, the bag has a shoulder strap for easy carrying, and clips on the luggage rack with a quick-release mechanism. It comes with a waterproof cover. Like all Vespa special editions, the series is identified with a plate behind the leg shield.
In technology terms, the Vespa 75th represents the top of the Vespa range: the models of this anniversary version (with 150cc/300cc engine) are equipped with a 4.3” TFT color display, while the fully digital instrument cluster makes the best possible use of the capabilities of the Vespa MIAsmartphone connectivity system.
In addition to all this, to mark the exclusivity of this special celebratory series, each Vespa 75th comes with a Welcome Kit including an elegant Italian jacquard-silk scarfwith handsewn hems, a vintage steel Vespa plate, a personal Owner’s Book and eight collector postcards with images from the eight decades of the Vespa story.
In 75 years of history (Piaggio registered its patent on 23 April 1946) and nearly19 million vehicleson the road in five continents, Vespa has given the entire world a new gear, spreading as it has across the world’s roads, uniting youngsters from very differing and distant cultures in a unique passion. The first truly global mobility brand, Vespa has become a common thread between generations, used by all different groups in society, creating various cultural phenomena particular to the different settings in which it has found itself, to the point of becoming a protagonist and a distinctive trait. It has steered habits, music and youth, and has accompanied countries and continents as they have grown, racing alongside them in times of economic boom.
Since 2004, when 58,000 vehicles were produced, the growth of the Vespa brand has been constant and spectacular. More than 100,000 units were produced in 2006, arriving at 180,000 in 2017 and passing the benchmark of 200,000 units in 2018.
Today, Vespa is a more global brand than ever before, a real citizen of the world, produced at three production sites: Pontedera, the plant where Vespas have been built uninterruptedly since 1946 with production destined for Europe and Western markets, the Americas included; Vinh Phuc, in Vietnam, which serves the local market and the Far East; and India, at the ultra-modern Baramati factory, opened in April 2012 to manufacture Vespas for the Indian market.
