I ordered the black front screen/digitizer/LCD frame assembly for my S4 from PhonePartWorld, and received it promptly. I decided to install it myself, running out of patience to wait to bring it to a local repair/installation shop. It installed fine, after reviewing a service manual for the S4. I got everything back in place & reattached, then put the battery & SIM/SD cards back in, turned it on, then tried it out-- and to my horror, it was NOT responding to touch input at all (the power, volume, & home/bezel buttons were all working fine). I turned it off & back on several times, with no luck. Then I thought about a reset technique-- using the "clear cache partition" option in the recovery mode menu (press & hold power & volume up at same to boot into recovery mode). After doing that, I selected "reboot" from the same menu, then holding my breath again, it restarted and VOILA! It worked! It hasn"t missed a beat, since. WHEW!
