The display is 2,560×1,440 resolution, which is the same as the 27-inch Cintiq, but less than the higher-than-4k Surface Studio resolution, which comes in at 4500×3000. On the other hand, while the Surface Studio has 10-point multi-touch, Dell’s Canvas has a 20-point multi-touch screen, allowing multiple people to work on a project simultaneously (or opening up the tantalizing possibility for a single person to create art using all of their fingers and toes at once).

Similar to the Surface Studio, the Dell Canvas comes with dials (Dell calls them Totems), but reports indicate that, unlike the Surface, the Dell dial only works while it’s touching the screen. On the other hand, multiple “totems” can be used on the display at once.

I’m sure you came here finding some cool touchscreen monitor options, too, so I’ve done all the research work for you. Because I don’t want you to suffer the frustration in search of finding the best touchscreen monitors for making your creative work easy.

Before we go further, I want to share some useful information that’d help you in picking the right touchscreen monitor. Yes, there are some selection metrics that I want you to know and become a pro buyer.

So, before going to the suggestion section below do read these important points and know how you may pick the correct touchscreen monitor for graphic design work.

Since we work on multiple programs, we need more horizontal space for reducing the number of monitors. The wider the monitor, the easier it is for a designer to manage different programs on a single screen.

See, we graphic designers hugely depend on visuals that contain different hues. And if we fail to add the right color just because of a non-calibration feature in the monitor, our name will be on the stakes and we’ll have to face embarrassment, too. So, do seek if your touch screen monitor comes with a color accuracy feature or not.

In order to select the right touchscreen monitor for your creative work, you must seek the correct screen size that can offer you the best resolution needed. The minimum monitor screens start with 14” and go up to 27” and even 32” including the outline boundary of the monitor.

Basically, the resolution is a way to conclude the number of pixels a monitor can display when in use. And the minimum resolution starts with 1280×1024 when it comes to selecting the touch screen monitor for graphic designers. Since our work demands such intricate details of the design, never ever choose a monitor that’s below 1920×1080 which offers you an FHD display result.

Usually, there are two types of touch technologies – resistive & capacitive – that most touchscreen monitors have. The resistive technology offers a more accurate touch experience using its two layered pattern that is immune to water, grease or dust particles.

On the other hand, the capacitive touch technology comes with a single layer pattern that does offer you scratch-resistance and accurate brightness but demands more care for protecting its sensors that play a key role in guessing your hand’s pressure.

In order to find the best touch screen monitor for your graphic design projects, do seek the connectivity options that your prospective monitor offers. Don’t just settle on the USB ports but also consider buying a monitor that comes with an HDMI port so in case you’ve to connect to a projector or a second monitor, you never face transmission issues.

Since most of us seek to have a touchscreen monitor for an easy working experience whether in office or away from the cubicle so do seek its weight. Because the portability of a monitor greatly depends upon its total weight. So, you’ve to make sure it’s not too heavy and that you’ll have to take someone’s help while moving it.

And lastly, the price is an important factor in deciding which touch screen monitor to choose from an extensive list. Sure, there are various prices when it comes to selecting the right touch screen monitor for graphic designers.

Now that you know what exactly to look into the ideal touch screen monitor, let me share the selection that I’ve managed to gather for you. In order to suggest you the best touch screen monitor, I’ve kept the list as diverse as I could so you never face budget-related issues while finding an ideal option.

The prime feature of this monitor is its widest screen with 23.8″ screen size along with 16:9 aspect ratio that offers you a nice picture quality and that at a wider angle. The wide angle not only offers you a pleasant viewing angle but also helps you manage different programs on a single screen while working on a creative project.

Apart from that, it also comes with an FHD 1920×1080 picture resolution which is another awesome highlight in this monitor. Along with that, you get to enjoy advanced touch capabilities and awesome screen performance, too.

The only odd thing that I noticed is that it’s a little heavy than most touch screen monitors for graphic designers with about 8.2 lbs. total weight otherwise it’s a nice investment for any creative person.

What I personally liked in this touch screen monitor is the widest viewing angle that is quite impressive especially if you’re with your colleagues discussing your creative projects. Plus, the 16:09 aspect ratio is another commendable feature that you’ll get into this portable monitor option.

The makers have done a fantastic job with its refresh rate (60Hz) that makes the image loading ideal. It only weighs about 2.9 lbs. which gives it a portable feature and offers you an ease to carry it anywhere with you. And lastly, the freestyle stand is one wonderful feature that lets you adjust the screen at any angle.

What I liked the most about this touchscreen monitor is the color accuracy that offers you grip on minor pixel details. And the 1920×1080 resolution is another ideal option that clicks with every designer who is in search of a reliable touchscreen monitor.

The 14″ screen size is another highlight of this monitor that gives an ample space to drag your fingers across the screen and accomplish your creative objectives. The easy connectivity options allow you to instantly connect it with your laptop, enhance the screen and work in a convenient manner.

ASUS always promises quality products that prove a blessing for us, graphic designers, and the 15.6″ along with 1920×1080 resolution monitor is the proof. The reason for adding this wonderful touchscreen monitor option in the list is the Eye Care protection feature along with various other key ones that protects our eyesight from various issues due to longer working patterns.

Before I conclude this list, here’s one final touchscreen monitor suggestion from ASUS in the shape of ASUS VT168H that offers you 10-point Touch facility!

What I liked in this touchscreen monitor from ASUS is the up to 30-degree tilt angle that really makes it easy for discussing a design possibility with the client without losing the view. Also, the flicker-free technology proves very helpful in preventing eye-strains that are common in design work after a longer shift.

It’s the best touchscreen option for those designers who prefer not to use a mouse or keyboard while working on their creative project with its 10-Point touch sensors. Also, the 1366×768 resolution is another commendable feature that offers you a considerably wider area to move your fingers while working in an editing software like Adobe Illustrator or Premiere Pro.

And here’s the show stopper from HP in the shape of Omen by HP that offers you a fantastic touchscreen monitor experience especially when you want to work on a creative project!

Firstly, it’s the 24.5″ wider screen that caught my attention which is fantastic from a designer’s viewpoint. Then, it’s the 144Hz refresh rate that offers you an awesome image loading speed that harnesses your editing pace and allows you to work on heavier files especially if your visuals involve videos.

Personally, I liked Uperfect’s 4K monitor due to its ideal resolution that makes the final graphic results error-free and allows you to work in detail on the project. Although, if you’re looking for an entry-level touchscreen monitor, I’d recommend you to consider using ASUS’s ZenScreen MB16ACE that comes with various essential features without costing you a fortune.

Touchscreens aren’t just available for laptops and mobile devices: There are many desktop monitors that include touchscreen capabilities for those who like to tap and swipe. This can make managing more complex tasks easier, and touchscreens are often preferred by designers and other professionals taking an active approach to their work. Here are the best models.

Dell’s touchscreen display is more than meets the eye: This 24-inch monitor has a sturdy base when upright, but can also collapse down at an angle for more serious touchscreen work whenever you want. That also makes this monitor an excellent choice for either a primary display or a secondary monitor to link up and use for specific, touchscreen-oriented tasks when needed.

Those looking for a more affordable desktop monitor will appreciate this Asus 22-inch monitor with touchscreen capabilities. While not loaded with features, the 1080p monitor is well-prepared for a full day of work with a study design and all of Asus’s eyecare software to help manage backlighting and flickering for the best experience.

The Asus VT229H offers up to a 75H refresh rate, brightness up to 250 nits, and connections that include both HDMI and VGA. With its smaller size, it serves well as an accompanying touch monitor in a professional setup or can work as a primary display when space is limited and a touchscreen is a vital feature to have.

If you already know that you need your primary monitor to have touchscreen capabilities, check out this full-sized, 27-inch model from ViewSonic. It offers 10-point multitouch capabilities for every kind of touchscreen control option, and the 1080p panel is made to be durable. This is another model that offers a dual-hinge design so you can angle back or lay it flat against the table depending on how you prefer to work. Oh, and if you’re using something like a Mac Mini, it offers full compatibility with MacOS too, so you won’t lose any touchscreen capabilities.

Some types of PC touchscreens are made to be portable. These smaller displays take only seconds to set up, allowing them to serve as a secondary display for almost any occasion, from working with your laptop to helping out in a flexible office situation. This 1080p Asus model measures 15.6 inches and easily collapses down, similar to a tablet, for quick carrying around or storage. It also has a built-in 7800mAH battery so you don’t have to worry about managing a power connection wherever you are.

The Asus ZenScreen MB16AMT includes speakers, two USB ports, both Type A and C, and Asus’ eyecare technology makes an appearance here, too. It works with pretty much any operating system you have in mind and comes with a smart cover and a stylus hole for easy storage.

Asus’ 22-inch monitor offers a high-durability glass surface and 10-point touch support that are exactly what we like to see in a touchscreen monitor made for serious work. The design also offers the ability to easily tilt to get just the right angle for your work and whether you prefer to sit or stand. AMD users will also be pleased to see that FreeSync is supported on this mode to reduce screen tearing and associated issues.

There’s another option for a touchscreen desktop that may be particularly appealing for some buyers – an all-in-one PC that combines the PC and monitor into one component that can save on space while still delivering a premium experience. Microsoft’s Surface Studio 2 is an excellent example of this solution. The 28-inch monitor offers a UHD resolution with full 10-point touchscreen capabilities, perfect for artists and designers willing to pay more for an all-in-one PC. It can operate in both Studio and normal mode depending on your preference and works with the innovative Surface Dial, which can help cycle through color palettes or other tricky tasks.

Inside, this Surface Studio 2 has an Intel Core 7 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD for storage space (there are also 32GB versions available for extra speed). That allows the Studio 2 to run just about anything, including extra-demanding editing and photography software. It’s the complete package for professionals who want a touchscreen…something that iMacs simply can’t provide.

Now is a great time to get one of the best drawing tablets for animation. There is such a wide array of options out there to suit all kinds of creative needs and budgets, so whether you"re an animation student going to college or a seasoned professional artist be sure one of the below options will be perfect for you!

When you talk about art tablets, you know you"ll be seeing big names such as Wacom, XP-Pen and Huion. However we have added our favourite picks from other big-name brands like Apple and Samsung if you"re wanting a tablet you can use for both animation and more general use. We"ve also included some older tablets that offer amazing value for money as long as you don"t need the most up-to-date technology.

We understand most people can"t spend a fortune on an animation tablet. This guide is a great place to find the product for you as we"ve tested a multitude of options for all budgets that include various features and different sizes so whatever you"re looking for be sure you"ll find it here.

Despite increasing competition from challenger brands such as Huion and XP-Pen, Wacom is still the name to be reckoned with when it comes to tablets for drawing and animation, and deservedly so. And if you"re getting serious about animation, the Wacom Cintiq 16 should be able to meet all your requirements.

In our Wacom Cintiq 16 review our writer found this tablet for animation delivers a wonderfully smooth and intuitive drawing experience, with top-notch stylus compatibility, as well as compatibility with plenty of animation software packages. Essentially, nearly every working animator"s going to find a lot to love here.

The Wacom Cintiq 16 gets its name from its 16-inch screen, which is a good size for most users. When we tested it, we found it"s not the biggest, with Wacom tablet screens going as large as 32 inches, but most people probably don"t need that much display real estate. The Wacom Pro Pen offers 8,192 levels of pressure sensitivity, and if you"re into 3D animation, you also get compatibility with the Wacom Pro Pen 3D.

The Xencelabs Pen Tablet Medium Bundle is the new kid on the best drawing tablet block, kind of. Xencelabs is one of the newer brands making high-quality tablets for animation, and it has a newer SE model just released that comes in a sleek white finish.

Our test found that the new M1 chip makes this tablet an absolute powerhouse, with ultra-fast performance that essentially puts this iPad on the level of a Macbook. The mini-LED powered XDR display is also best-in-class, with 1,600 nits of peak brightness, 1,000 nits of full-screen brightness, greater contrast and better control of local dimming. Drawing with the Apple Pencil also feels fantastic, with incredible sensitivity and that unmistakable Apple design that makes it comfortable to use in the hand.

The Galaxy Tab S8 ultra is another top option if you"d prefer a general purpose tablet over a dedicated drawing tablet for animation. The Galaxy Tab S8 ultra is the largest of three welcome updates to Samsung"s tablet range. It"s bigger than the S8 and the S8+, and it comes complete with Samsung"s brilliant S-Pen, which means that you get all the physical tools you"re going to need for animation straight out of the box.

Yes, we"ve already featured two Wacom tablets in this list; the Cintiq 16 for more advanced animators and the One for beginners. But we"d also recommend the Intuos Pro Large as a tablet for animation, for the simple reason that it"s good, reliable all-rounder that anyone can get brilliant results from.

If you"re just starting out and all you need is a cheap tablet for animation while you find your feet, it"s hard to go wrong with the Huion HS610. It"s a great value graphics tablet that you"ll need to plug into an external display so that you can see what you"re doing, but if you can live with that you"ll find some worthwhile premium features, including 8,192 levels of pressure sensitivity in its pen, and 16 customisable keys that you can map to your favourite tools and shortcuts to really speed up your workflow.

Our Huion HS610 review found there"s a good-sized drawing area to work with, and we appreciated the general compatibility with dedicated animation software like Adobe Animate.

This is a great tablet for beginners that comes at a low-ish price point, but which still delivers that Wacom drawing experience. Okay, it’s not as cheap as some others on this list, but you are getting a Full HD screen and a tablet that interfaces seamlessly with Mac and Windows alike.

There"s no need to spend a fortune on a tablet for animation. If all you need is a solution that does the job without overloading you with expensive extras that you"ll never use, the XP-Pen Deco 03 makes for a fantastic choice.

The XP-Pen Deco 03 plugs into a computer or smart device via USB, and offers broad compatibility with all manner of animation packages, making it a drawing pad pretty much anyone will be able to use. It"s lightweight and slim, with a pleasingly sleek design and customisable keys that can be mapped to your preferred function. Here"s our XP-Pen Deco Pro review for more.

Before you splash out on one of the best drawing tablets for animation, it"s well worth familiarising yourself with the criteria you"ll need to think about, so that you can be sure you"re buying something that has just the right feature set for you. Here are the main things you should consider:What kind of tablet do animators need? There are three kinds of tablet: graphics tablets (connect to a PC or Mac), pen displays (drawing onto a screen) and computer displays (as the name says, a computer and display combined). All are good for animation, but go up in price the more tech is on offer.

If you can afford it, a computer tablet is excellent – this can be an iPad Pro, Wacom Cintiq or Huion Kamvas Pro. The good medium ground is a pen display that uses a computer to power the software but enables you to draw onto a Full HD screen.Display vs graphicsThere are two main types of drawing tablet: display tablets and graphics tablets. Display tablets have a built-in screen, while graphics tablets are drawing surfaces that require an external display such as your computer"s monitor.

Display tablets are the better choice for animation where possible, as having your drawing surface and your display in the same place makes for a smoother experience, and makes it easier to take advantage of the various animation software programs.

In terms of screen size, it’s worth thinking about how much drawing space you actually need. While it may seem like the obvious thing would be to get as big a tablet screen as possible, this will drive the cost of the unit way up, and it may simply be more space than you need.

This will of course depend on the nature of the animation you’re doing – it’s worth looking at your art with a critical eye to determine how much space you need.Controls and shortcut keysWhen you"re just starting out with a drawing tablet you might not feel that having a set of shortcut keys is that important. Trust us, though: once you find your feet and get into your flow, you"ll regret not having enough customisable shortcut keys when you"re continually having to pause to hit actual keyboard shortcuts.

Shortcut keys can seriously speed up your workflow; some tablets will have one or two, some will have as many as 16, and others will have none – though many of these will be tablets like iPads, which offer other advantages.Pen sensitivityOne of the main reasons that tablets are so useful for drawing and animation is the incredible level of pen pressure sensitivity they’re capable of. With pen sensitivities routinely going as high as being able to recognise as much as 8,192 levels of pressure, you can get truly granular with line thickness and shape.Budget/priceWe’ve mentioned this already a few times of course, but it is simply a fact of life. Deciding which is the best animation tablet for you will of course in part be dictated by how much you’ve got to spend.

This will vary for everyone of course, and while the more you spend, the more you’ll get, there are plenty of great cheap animation tablets out there – we’ve included some in the guide above.

Since the creation of the world’s first animated film in 1908 by French cartoonist and animator Émile Cohl, the world of animation has come a long way.

Nowadays, animation is not only used in the entertainment industry. Various other industries, such as Advertisement, Marketing, Gaming, Retail, Architecture, and Engineering, use animation in multiple ways.Animation is widely used in the education sector as well as for research purposes to create realistic scientific visualizations.

The history of computer animation began a few decades later. Even though people started experimenting with computer graphics as early as the 1940s, it was during the early 1960s that computer graphics rocketed.

During that time, digital computers had already become widely established and became mainstream in the 1970s, after the mass production of the microprocessor in 1971.Fast forward to 2022, and anyone, whether they are a professional animation maker or not, can use computer-generated imagery (CGI) to create any type of animation.

In addition, a plethora of different animation software apps cater to every type of animation you need to create. The selection process can be tricky when exploring and choosing the best animation software app.

Don’t fret! You are one step closer to making your final decision. In this guide, we will explore the top 24 animation software apps in 2022. We will take a look at their prices, functionalities, and difficulty levels, as well as their pros and cons.

To make it easier for you to navigate through this article and select the powerful animation tools based on the type of animation you are interested in, we have separated them into four categories.

To better understand how vector-based 2D animation works, it is essential to mention that the first type of 2D animation was also called traditional animation or hand-drawing animation.

In the old days, animators drew the characters, backgrounds, and so on, frame by frame, to create movement in a two-dimensional space. Animators did these every two frames, animated on 12 frames per second (fps) and sometimes on 24fps for faster action.Nowadays, creating 2D animation with the help of animation software apps is way easier, and you don’t necessarily have to be good at drawing.

Today, 2D animators still have the option of animating frame by frame. But if they want to make the animation process even faster, they can use a digital puppet, which is also called a character rig.

The Adobe AnimateCC is one of the world"s most popular 2D animation software apps. Developed by Adobe Inc., this vector-based 2D animation softwarewas first launched in 1996 and was named “FutureSplash Animator.”

Later on, after it was acquired by Macromedia, the software app was named Macromedia Flash. Its current name, Adobe Animate, was first introduced in 2016 to reflect Adobe’s market position. You can use Adobe Animate to design vector animations and graphics for websites, TV series, web applications, game development, banner ads, and many other purposes.

This animation software app is packed with so many features. Yet, it is still very easy to use and is the perfect tool for beginners looking to create interactive animations. Adobe Animate is also perfect for kids who want to experiment and enter the world of animation at an early age.

While this option is great for getting started and great for kids, it may not be the best pick if you need to create professional animation productssince this software app has limited capabilities compared to some of its competitors.

You can also use third-party plug-ins to add more capabilities to your Adobe After Effects software. For example, you can also use this compositing application to create explainer animations.

If you are looking for 2D animation software and are already used to other Adobe products such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Character Animator, then you are in luck.

If you are just starting out and trying your 2D animation skills, it will take you some time to get used to this software app and learn how to use all of its tools.

For starters, 3D animators need to have different technical skill sets to animate in 3D.With computer animation, just like with vector-based 2D animations, you don’t have to be a great draftsman or have impeccable drawing skills.

Another difference between 3D and 2D animation is that the 3D animated character (all of their body parts) is always present no matter how you move the character. In 2D, the animator only has to animate (draw) the parts that can be seen in 2D.For instance, if you see the profile of a 2D character (from the side), the other half of the body is not drawn or animated since it technically does not exist in a 2D setting.

The frame rate in 3D animation is also different from 2D animation since the character’s motion is animated for every frame instead of every two frames, like it is in 2D.

What makes this type of animation tricky is that if you make a mistake in any of the frames, it will be very hard to fix, and you will most likely have to recreate the entire thing from the beginning.
