aprilia tft display factory
After the success achieved by Aprilia RSV4 X, the special version of the supersport bike from Noale, one of the most powerful and lightest ever, of which 10 available units were assigned in just a few hours, Aprilia is back to advancing the extraordinary V4 project, presenting a truly unique version of the Tuono V4, the hypernaked par excellence. Introducing Aprilia Tuono V4 X, the exclusive “super Tuono” produced in a numbered and limited edition, developed and assembled directly by Aprilia Racing, the factory with 54 world titles, seven of which were won in the World SBK championship specifically with the narrow V4 engine.mute
Considering the fact that, since its birth in 2011, the Tuono V4 has been deemed the best hypernaked on the track, you can just imagine the credentials of the Tuono V4 X, capable of lapping with a pace of 1’50” at Imola in the able hands of Aprilia rider Lorenzo Savadori, during development entrusted to him.Item 1 of 0Item 1 of 0
A new exhaust, motogp inspired swingarm, 5” TFT display, and a slew of electronics never seen before round out many of the talking points. While those carry along in the limelight, the forged aluminum wheels and semi active ohlins suspension ground us to the realization that this bike is a redesign genius off of the 2020 platform.

That’s because the Aprilia Tuono V4 is still one of the very finest motorcycles created in the last 20 years, and, as such, Aprilia didn’t need to reinvent the wheel with the new model. They just gave the wheel a spit and polish.
Perhaps the most significant detail of the new Tuono V4 is that splitting of the model. Previously, the base model was just a watered-down version of the all-balls Factory edition, but now Aprilia has finally gone the way of BMW with their S 1000 R/S 1000 XR and KTM with the 1290 Super Duke R and Super Duke GT and created a sport-touring version for the $15,999 MSRP Tuono V4.
The rest of the specs are basically identical between the two models. That buxom 1077 cc, 175 hp V4 remains largely unchanged except it now comes with Euro 5 compliance. There are new settings for the quick shifter and the electronics have been reworked via the bigger five-inch TFT display.
Aprilia’s more powerful RSV4 simply bulldozes its way past the emissions block but the Tuono labors a little, but it’s a small price to pay for having a Euro 5-compliant V4 beneath you.
The Aprilia Tuono V4 and V4 Factory are absolutely near the top of the naked bike tree, even though at heart, they are not that different than before. The Factory, in particular, is so hard to fault. It talks to you, guiding you through corners and meeting you with the most beautiful of motors for the exit. Riding a Tuono is a love experience. It makes you glad you got your license.
Naked sportbike fans rejoice — the 2021 Aprilia Tuono V4 and Tuono V4 Factory have arrived with subtle styling updates, MotoGP-inspired chassis upgrades and increased comfort. All of this bodes well for Aprilia’s revered sit-up, semi-faired Tuono sportbikes since it’s just as comfortable in the canyons as it is on the racetrack.
Aprilia’s design department has achieved complete visual cohesion between its middleweight RS and Tuono 660 offerings, as well as the new RSV4 and Tuono V4 lineup. The Tuono V4 motorcycles now feature styling inspired by the 660 middleweights, including the distinctive triple LED headlight with a DRL. However, the liter bikes kick things up a notch with a cornering light function that helps illuminate the insides of turns. Lastly, the new fairings incorporate the same aerodynamic functions seen on the RS and RSV machines, cooling the engine and drawing hot air away from the rider.
A new, larger full-color TFT display utilizes a more intuitive interface and allows riders to adjust the top-class APRC electronics package. A new Marelli 11MP ECU and 6-axis IMU support multi-level engine braking, adjustable cornering ABS, traction control and wheelie control. All of that is followed up by six riding modes, three of which are customizable.
Ergonomics are updated and said to provide a more comfortable riding position, thanks to the updated fuel tank shape. With tongue firmly in cheeky, Aprilia was keen to point out that “the passenger is no longer a barely tolerated guest,” improving the comfort of the passenger saddle and lowering the footpegs.
One of the strengths of the Tuono platform is its chassis, with its lightweight aluminum twin-spar frame. This year, engineers have given the Tuono machines a lighter under-slung swingarm inspired by the Aprilia RS-GP MotoGP racebike, featuring a lower reinforcement brace to reduce flex under hard acceleration.
Available in two trims, the standard Tuono is equipped with conventional suspension, setting you back $15,999, and is available in two colors — Tarmac Grey and Glacier White. Meanwhile, the Tuono Factory comes equipped with semi-active Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension and is offered in Aprilia Black exclusively for $19,499. Aprilia anticipates the 2021 Aprilia Tuono V4 and Tuono V4 Factory to arrive in dealers in June.
The Aprilia Tuono has a lot in common with its donor bike, the RSV4. It still looks a lot like the hypersport, even if it’s a naked bike. It has more body panels than other fat naked bikes on the market. Especially the windscreen is taller than what we are used to. It seems to invite you to tug yourself behind it at higher speeds. A mere sign on the horizon?
The electronics on this bike are impressive. Don’t say “traction control”, say “Aprilia Performance Ride Control”. It doesn’t just regulate a few thingies but computes real “assistance strategies”: ATC (traction control, adjustable in 8 positions on the go through flippers on the handlebars), AWC (wheelie control, adjustable during riding and softening contacts with the road), ALC (launch control, recommended only for the track), APL (pitlimiter, very practical in city traffic) and ACC (cruise control).
Setting all these goodies is done from the big cluster of buttons on the left side of the handlebars. You can read every setting on the crisp TFT screen. Besides the obvious speed and rpm’s you can also see the lean angle of the bike. Checking your lean angle in real time is quite impossible though, you simply do not have the time to look at it. Except when the bike is on its side stand: 12 degrees of lean angle!
Luckily you can connect the Tuono to your smartphone – in combination with the Aprilia Multimedia Platform – after which you can download all the data to a computer. Even better: with the smartphone app you can program all the settings of the bike should you ride it on track. And you can set them per curve! This once again shows that the pedigree of the Tuono is to be found in WSBK.
Other gimmicks on the dash, like position of the throttle and brake force, are nice to have. It also shows the maximum speed you reached since starting up this Aprilia, which leads to kind of… a challenge.
“The Tuono V4 Factory is the fastest and most sporty naked bike ever built”, acclaims Aprilia. And that might just as well be true. The 1100 CC V4 engine produces 175 bhp and 121 Nm of torque. Enough to rip of your arms.
Driving slow is a challenge on the Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory. Every speed you ride on it feels slower than it is in reality. Luckily there is traction control and the pitlimiter. Besides: everything on this Aprilia is built to go fast. The screen keeps your upper body out of the wind (your helmet will take all the wind so a good set of neck muscles are needed) and even the comfort is acceptable. Stability, speed and a thunderous sound summarise the Tuono.
