CarPro PERL is a water-based silicone-oxide all-purpose dressing from Plastic, Engine, Rubber and Leather and it’s capable of dressing all of these surfaces, with minimal shine whilst providing UV protection.
The great thing about CarPro PERL is that you’re able to dilute it with water for its specific use case, after all, you wouldn’t want to use the product that you use on your tires at the same strength on your interior plastics or leather.
I’ve also used PERL at straight dilutions on my tires for a deepening of the blacks, as well as a slight sheen, but not glossy. You can also use a microfibre towel to remove the excess if it’s too shiny for you. The product didn’t sling all over my freshly cleaned paint, which was most welcome, and even after the sheen had faded, the tires were still noticeably black rather than grey or even brown.
I’ve also used PERL on some of my interior plastics, after a good cleaning it didn’t add any unwanted shine, but the colour was darker and definitely improved the presentation, which is certainly welcome when you’ve had a day at work and you’re getting into your pride and joy for the trip home.
As mentioned above, CarPro PERL is a dilutable formula, dilutable for various tasks and areas on your car, from your tires to your trim and even leather.
Below you can see I spray some CarPro PERL onto the panel, holding the cloth to make sure the silicone-based formula doesn’t get onto the other cloths, or inside the boot carpet.
My first experience with PERL was on my engine bay, it was after this I knew that this product was going to be brilliant and I had no doubt I would be buying more.
As this was only the engine plastics, I took off what I needed to, gave everything a good clean with an APC and some brushes, and then removed the cleaner with some microfibre cloths before applying the coat of PERL, which I had diluted in a trigger spray bottle.
I also took the opportunity to use some PERL on any rubber hoses or rubber trim, such as the ones between my bonnet and bumper, just so they didn’t let the side down in terms of the overall finish.
My coat of PERL lasted for 2 weeks between washes, and on one of those weekends, I had driven on a mountain pass, during a storm, so it held up very well.
My trim has been darkened and I haven’t seen any major signs of fade, the restorative effects of PERL are more than skin deep, even if the initial deep darkening isn’t there after you’ve washed your car, the areas certainly don’t go directly back to grey or heavily faded and a quick top-up coat, like you might top up paint protection with spray wax, does the trick to bring it back to a better than new condition.
CarPro is highly usable, from exterior trim, tires, leather and even plastics in your car, it’s dilutable, which aids to a positive review as it will inevitably go further than you think, which is always a winner, and, from my experience, buying a bottle is not expensive.
Sure, there are other cheaper options in the market, but if you want a quality product, that’s able to reliably deliver good results consistently, then CarPro PERL is what you’ll want to pick up from your local reseller.
On the “…go further than you think..”quote above. I’ve had a bottle of PERL (500ml) for just over 2 months now, I’ve poured some out and diluted it, dressed trim and other bits after every wash (approx 6 washes with our current pandemic), and have dressed the tires with neat PERL after each of those washes and I haven’t even used 20% of the bottle yet.

For My G80 i"ll be putting the roar professional grade ceramic coating on the car as my main source of protection. For washing soaps i typically use Gyeon bath essence(weekly), and restart wash(every 1.5 months). For wheel cleaner ive tried Sonax, gyeon wheel cleaner, and PS brake buster and of the three I cannot tell a difference. For tire protection I"m going to give Carpro Blackout a shot and see how that goes but I"ll likely be using Gyeon tire as well. For the interior Gyeon leathercoat, and Gyeon interior detailer, as well as P&S interior cleaner. Finally as a finish or sacrificial layer on the Paint i alternate between using Kamikaze overcoat and Polish angel High gloss. High gloss doesn"t repel dirt as good as I would like but the shine it gave my silverstone F80 was absolutely unreal. These personally are my favourite products after tons of my own personal testing. I also like to use a snowfoam even though it really doesnt do much and for that i LOVE Koch Chemie Gentle snow foam( I"ve started to mess around with their products and look forward to more of them coming to canada).I want the best for my M3 and I am very happy with what I currently have.

I tend to get through more tyre products than anything else, I brought this as a sample just to see what it was like. My current dressing is (or should i say was) auto finesse, I think I"ll be replacing it with perl, it leaves a great finish and so far very little dust or spray. It lasts longer than af too.
I’ve only ever used PERL neat, so I’ll only comment on that basis. When used on black external plastics around the vehicle it works very well. The colour change is almost as good as Gtechniq’s C4, but you’ll get now where near C4’s longevity with PERL. Durability with PERL is good though; you’ll get a good few months assuming that your prep is good. Super easy to apply; a little dab of the product on a make-up pad and apply to the plastic in question. Leave to dry and buff off with a microfiber cloth to reveal a high gloss finish. One 500ml bottle should last quite a while!

I use this on my dash, door panel plastics, carbon fiber trim, and the plastics under the hood. It does a fantastic job of leaving going on and wiping off easily. Leaves a smooth and satin look to all materials applied to. Smell reminds me of a citrus peel. I typically use this to clean my dash and plastics before applying my Gtechniq C6 guard. Solid product.
Used on dash, door panels, and all other interior vinyl and plastics. Wiped on and off easily and left no streaks. It left the black interior looking really nice; cleaner, a bit deeper black and no shine. Just what I was looking for. A quick wipe down every 2 weeks or so keeps my 5 year old interior looking brand new. Leaves an okay clean, but not chemical, odor that is gone by the next day.
Don"t know of a better all purpose interior cleaner out there than this one. Works on pretty much all interior surfaces. From the dash to carbon fiber inserts to plastics and trim. Even used it on my home LCD TV screens and it did a better streak free job than my Monster Cleaner product. No haziness or streaking.
Love this stuff for light-to-moderate interior cleaning and conditioning. It works on Plastic, Vinyl and Leather and Navigation panels. It cleans and leaves a great matte "factory" finish on all surfaces. I recently got the 10 Liter jug and the smell has changed to a decent citrus smell from the "what is that?" smell.
My Ford Edge has an 8" LCD screen and piano black center stack. Both highly attract finger prints. I have 4 oz spray bottle in my glove box filled with 1Z with a microfiber towel. While at a stop light, or in park, I can easily whip this out and make it look all new again. I even use it at home to clean my glasses and loptop screens (buy some 4 oz bottles too, they come in handy).
I made the mistake of cleaning the steering wheel of my 328i with a protectant. BIG mistake. It looked and felt slippery. Rather than hit it with an APC, I reached for my 1z Cockpit Premium to undo the damage. I sprayed 1-2 mists on a clean microfiber (don"t spray the wheel directly to avoid a big mess) while *outside* the car, then gently rubbed every bit of the leather steering wheel cover 2x. Boom! It was back to the grippy, matte condition before the Vinylex.
This product worked better than I expected it to. Clean the Nav screen on my 06 TL perfect. The dash area along with interior panels never looked better.
I usually use MG quick interior detailer. 1Z cockpit premium was on sale, so I wanted to try it. I think it has more ability to clean than MG QID, but smells much stronger. The smell is more "industrial" than the MG QID. I tried using it to clean my (cooled down) LCD TV and home stereo and it works great just like MG QID.

It is non greasy, non oily, and has a great smell. PERL Coat"s water-based formula provides great durability on all tires, interior and exterior trim, vinyl and dashboards.
I purchased 1L CarPro - PERL after getting a sample with one of my orders and liking it. The 1L bottle of PERL did not come with a convenient cap so I changed it out for a flip top squeeze cap to make it more usable. I also noticed the color and consistency of my PERL was very different than the sample I had gotten (the sample was off-white and ticker, where has the 1L was perfectly white and much more runny). The product has a light pleasant coconut smell. PERL was my first water based dressing (I was using oil based before). I figured I"d wait to write a review about this product until I had long term consistent results (which I do now)...
For the first application of PERL I figured I would fully strip any old dressings, wax"s and polish or compound residues prior to application. After a weekly maintenance wash, I proceeded to clean all of the exterior rubbers and plastics (tires, trim, and seals) with Meg"s D101 APC diluted at a 4:1 ratio, a few assorted brushes ranging from soft to hard, and some plastic razors. I worked at a slow steady pace cleaning maliciously and passed over everything a second time.
I poured some undiluted PERL onto a microfiber applicator and applied it to the trim and rubber weather seals, first. I also applied some PERL to a foam tire applicator and noticed it didn"t absorb into the foam (kind of sat on top) so I folded the foam in half pressing the PERL gently into the top layer of foam. I did one pass and quickly found I needed more to get into the deeper groves of the lettering on the sidewall, as it was still dry. For the second application, I didn"t fold the foam I simply quickly flipped the foam onto the side wall and swiped around. This did the trick, but I did still get one drip on the wheel.
Durability/Environmental"s:My SRT is parked outside year around unprotected from the elements in the harsh Montreal climate so I really wanted PERL to last (hence the lengthy prep). I found PERL very durable in dry hot sunny conditions but after every one or two rain storms I noticed the trim starting to turn white. This stated on the trim at first, in a pattern similar to the way it was applied. I figured I must have incorrectly prepped the trim so I re-prepped the trim using Meg"s D101 APC, Meg"s D108 super degreaser, and IPA, all at full strength and in that order. I reapplied PERL just as before and much to my dismay after a few rain storms the same thing started to happen again (trim turning white)...
Since then I"ve continued to apply PERL weekly over top previous layers and find it actually improves the durability and restores the look without all the hard work. The problem is I can"t get more than about 10 days of durability out of it before it starts to turn white and needs another application! I also noticed this happening to my tires along with some discoloration of the tires.
Final thoughts\conclusion:I think if I had tested PERL in a different environment my results would have been very different as I"ve seen many other reviews about this product and none have similar findings. This leads me to conclude it could also be the application itself (full strength), my environment (cold, rainy, harsh), or a different revision of the product as my sample differed. It seems PERL is better suited for hot dry climates likely lasting months upon months. I had no issues with PERL until cold weather rainstorms. I"ll be moving on to CQuartz Delux next (another CarPro product)...

CarPro has an incredible lineup of products, and PERL is no exception. PERL is a versatile, water-based protective product that can be used on Plastic, Engine, Rubber, and Leather. This product contains no solvents, so it will not damage your tires, or dry out your plastic.

PERL is concentrated and can be diluted for various uses. Once the product has been applied and is dry, it provides a hydrophobic layer that will help to protect the surface beneath it by repelling water and dirt for up to 3 months. PERL leaves a dry, non-greasy surface and the shine can be altered depending on how it is diluted.
Note: All dilution ratios are listed as (# Parts Water: # Parts PERL) and are simply recommendations. You may adjust the ratios as needed to fit your personal needs.
Pickup a few of the 8 oz. spray bottles so you can experiment with various dilutions of PERL and keep many on hand so you are ready to handle anything from tire dressing to interior protection.
I personally use PERL most frequently as a tire dressing. I prefer a higher gloss, so I use it undiluted and apply a thin coat. After the product has dried, I may apply a second coat to further enhance the shine and ensure even coverage. I really love the look of PERL on tires! The product should be left to dry until the surface is dry to the touch. This will ensure there will be no slinging or mess (If excess product is used, you may need to wipe dry with a black microfiber towel).

Clean the surface well before applying PERL Coat. Shake the diluted mixture well before use. Spray on surface from 20cm distance and wipe off with a microfiber towel.
