I definitely have some mixed feelings when it comes to this Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 514. I actually had purchased my now 9 year old an Acer Chromebook Spin 311 about 2 years ago to use as his school computer instead of the super cheap and outdated ones the school was providing. Even then it was only about $260 so not a huge investment for a child. And he actually used that chromebook everyday for the last few years, until we had a mishap about 3 months ago when he was outside using it and dropped it the wrong way onto concrete shattering the screen. I actually looked into getting the screen replaced but the cost was basically the same cost of buying a new one since it was an inexpensive chromebook already. But up until that point it works very well for our needs and absolutely exceeded my expectations for it in every way possible. So when I was offered this Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 514 in exchange for my honest review I figured it would be a nice upgrade and since it was the same system that he was used to he wouldn’t miss a beat.

Now that being said, I do really like the ease of use of these Acer Spin Chromebooks. They are really durable for younger kids, ours breaking was a fluke and just a bad fall since I can’t tell you how many times he dropped it prior to that. It’s super simple to use for kids and adults. And I love that you can use it like a laptop, or a tablet, to me that’s what makes these so versatile.

All in all I really love these Acer Spin Cheomebooks, I really really do. But I just personally don’t see any drastic improvement in how well this performs over the one we were previously using in the same line up but just a lower model. Thus I just can’t see why I as a consumer would buy this one over a lesser model.
