Xbox 360 E or Xbox 360 S console: To reset display setting on these console models, you can also just turn off the console and then hold the power button on the front of the console down for about 10 seconds. (The lights will flash several times.)

Due to the fact that we did not participate in the experiment done by Kassa and have little insight into the methodology that was used, we cannot comment specifically on the outcome. While we are aware that discs can potentially be scratched through normal wear and tear, we have not received any widespread reports of the issue highlighted here. That said, it is important to us that all of our customers have the best gaming experiences possible, and these claims are obviously very concerning to us. We encourage any Xbox customer who believes that their discs have been scratched in the same manner as identified by Kassa, to contact us. The law firms have filed lawsuits in the United States District Court Western District of Washington at Seattle on behalf of a proposed nationwide class of customers who have suffered scratched game discs while using their Xbox 360. The lawsuit seeks class certification and reimbursement for customers for the cost of games damaged by the console; reimbursement for customers who have paid a $20 fee to Microsoft Corporation under a limited disc replacement program offered on ten Microsoft games; repair of consoles free of charge to prevent further disc scratching; and/or reimbursement for customers who have paid for an aftermarket repair solution.

Following Microsoft"s extension of the Xbox 360 warranty to a full year, from the previous 90 days, the California man"s attorney confirmed to the Seattle Post Intelligencer that the lawsuit had been resolved under confidential terms.

An E74 error is indicated when the lower-right quadrant of the ring indicator flashes red and displays an error message in multiple languages: "System Error. Contact Xbox Customer Support", with the code E74 at the bottom. The error is caused by a failure in communication between the GPU and the eDRAM die on the GPU. This is usually due to a failure in the flip chip connection of the dies to the substrate, or a failing GPU or eDRAM.

The E74 error has sometimes been described by many as a "Green Screen of Death" and a "Black Screen of Death" because early versions of these errors had an almost jet-black background with a hue of dark green. Later versions would show a completely jet-black background. Reports of impending Q4 red-light failure stem from users who report an abnormal display with poor, grainy video as well as black dots or artifacts appearing on the screen. Vertical green or red strokes on the screen can also indicate a video system malfunction, preceding the RROD or the E74 error.

Xbox 360 consoles which have a hardware failure will display a secondary error code by blinking a sequence of LEDs when the sync button is held down and the eject button is pressed four times.

In the war of big gaming consoles, only two products are popular in the market and Xbox from Microsoft is one of them. Their current lineup is the Xbox Series X and Series S, launched in 2020. The previous series, the Xbox One, and its corresponding successors were all well received by the community. Controllers are a very important part of the overall gaming console experience and the Xbox One’s controller delivered it perfectly. Microsoft redesigned the Xbox Controller this time. Even though it isn’t comparable to the DualShock 4, rumbling feedback from the triggers is quite good.

Enough about the specs and let us now focus on the Xbox One Black Screen of Death problem. So, what is this issue? Some Xbox One users reported that when they turn on the console and the TV, all they see is a pitch-black screen without any content.

But not so silly reason was a software update, especially for those users who are in the Xbox Insider Program. Apparently, Microsoft released the software update without properly testing it, resulting in the users staring at a black screen on their TV.

Another reason for the Xbox One Black Screen of Death was a software glitch in the UI of the Xbox Dashboard. Some users also reported that the Black Screen was a result of Xbox Live being out.

Xbox One has a built-in Blu-ray player, which, for many users, is a default option for watching Blu-ray movies. There are also reports that when users start a movie using the Blu-ray player, they immediately get a black screen.

The first and most obvious solution is to restart your Xbox One console. Locate the “Xbox” Button on the console. Press and hold this button for at least 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

You might connect several external devices and peripherals to your Xbox One. Some of them are USB Hard Drives, Expansion Cards, Battery Charging Systems, etc.

Some users use an AV Receiver to connect to the Xbox One console. If you are one of them, then you can try and connect the console directly to the TV.

Some video settings can cause the Xbox One Black Screen problem when you watch a Blu-ray movie. If you inserted a Blu-ray disk into the console, eject it and power cycle the console.

The next solution should be your last resort. Here, you can try and hard reset the Xbox One console. Before proceeding, you need to remember that resetting your Xbox One console will erase all the data, including your account details, games, and other important information. Proceed with caution.

There are a couple of ways in which you can reset your Xbox One Console. If you are getting a display output, then press the “Xbox” button to open the guide.

The second method is suitable if you have a black screen on your console. To proceed further, you need a computer with an internet connection and a USB flash drive with at least 4GB capacity.

Now, insert the USB Drive into the USB Port. Press and hold the pair button and the eject button. Now, while continuing to hold them, press the “Xbox” button on the console. Continue holding the Pair and Eject buttons for at least 10 to 15 seconds.

You will get a couple of “power-up” tones, roughly two seconds apart. Release the buttons. It will restart automatically. Remove the USB drive when it restarts and follow the onscreen information to reset the Xbox One console.
