After our outside electric grill was determined unsafe, we looked carefully into purchasing another similar electric grill. After careful examination of several grills we chose the Cuisinart Griddler for several reasons:

My old waffle maker and my old panini maker died at about the same time, so I figured I would get one product to replace them. The features on this product look great, it"s very well designed. And the Cuisinart name sounded solid. But I found that the temperature of the griddle (or grill) surface is not at all steady. If I set the Griddler to, say, 350 degrees, my infrared heat sensor shows the surface temp varying between 300 and 400 as the heating element switches on & off. Why does Griddler have a digital readout, which you can set to the nearest 25 degrees, when actual cooking temp fluctuates so much?

Bought this for my husband. We are both so pleased with our purchase. He has made me the most amazing porterhouse steak. I have made my grandson his birthday breakfast, waffles (from a purchase we made previously that interchange with our new Cuisinart). We could not me more happier with our purchase.

I love it!! I make quesadillas and grilled tacos the most with it. Easy to remove plates and easy washing. Can"t say enough good things about the Griddler 5.

I like the multi-use capacity of the griddler. My only negative comments are 1) it doesn"t get dark enough (like the sear lines you"d have with a grill) and 2) I"m still not sure how to lower the temp after the sear function has stopped. It"s become sort of hit or miss. Directions not very clear.

I"m happy overall with my Griddler although it"s not without flaws. It cooks frozen burgers and salmon fillets quickly and evenly. However grease can overflow the back of the bottom plate, dripping down and getting on the various edges and corners of the feet protrusions, and even get into the hole where the power cord exits, which is a pain to clean every other time.
