The Triumph Street Triple R acts as the entry into the British manufacturer’s ‘Roadster’ lineup for 2022. However, there’s very little about this motorcycle that you’d consider entry-level. The Street Triple moniker has been around for over a decade now, during which period it’s undergone multiple changes. For 2022, the Street Triple R remains essentially unchanged over last year’s bike, but there’s still a lot that makes this bike stand out from its competitors.

At the heart of the 2022 Triumph Street Triple R is a liquid-cooled, inline 3-cylinder engine that produces 116 hp and 57 lb-ft of peak torque. Triumph has paired this engine to a 6-speed gearbox that features a bi-directional quick-shifter that the manufacturer refers to as Triumph Shift Assist.

The Street Triple R comes with a comprehensive suite of rider aids, including ABS, switchable traction control, and three riding modes — Road, Rain, and Sport. Unlike its better-equipped sibling — the Street Triple RS — with a full-TFT display, the ‘R’ gets a multi-functional LCD instrument console that lets you toggle through the aforementioned rider modes.

Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled the 2018 version of the Speed Triple S and Speed Triple RS. The Speed Triple brings an updated 1,050 cc inline-three cylinder engine and gets 105 new parts on the roadster.

The updated 1,050 cc Speed Triple engine produces 150 PS at 10,500 rpm and 117 Nm at 7,150 rpm of torque, with an improvement of seven percent and four percent from the previous versions.

The company has also brought smaller starter motor, new profile pistons, redesigned cylinder heads, and a new sump with a re-routed oil system to reduce the weight and improve the performance of the Speed Triple RS. The new silencer by Arrow on the RS is also expected to be more louder than the previous one.

A new introduction that will make the bike more fancier is the five-inch TFT display. Instead of the conventional display the company has introduced the new screen for an improved experience on both the bikes. The Speed Triple S is the base model, while the RS is the higher-priced variant with few differences including Öhlins suspension in place of the Showa on the Speed Triple S.

The bikes now rev higher by 1,000 rpm than the past models and the Speed Triple brings five riding modes, cruise control, standard-fit ABS and traction control. There"s a 6-speed transmission which gets a slip-assist clutch and fully-adjustable suspension. Triumph has also introduced back-lit 5-way joystick switch cubes.
