EAGLE2000 glass is a lightweight AMLCD alkaline earth boro-aluminosilicate glass from CORNING with impressive capabilities. It features small specific weight and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. EAGLE2000has a total alkali content of approximately 0,1 weight-% (typically < 0,05 weight-%). The fusion-drawn AMLCD glass provides the flat, high-quality surfaces essential for high-resolution applications. Due to its small thermal expansion coefficient, glass breakage caused by thermal shock often occurring in semiconductor applications is reduced or eliminated. Hence, EAGLE2000 provides the technical capabilities required for COG (chip-on-glass) processes. The specialty glass from CORNING shows even higher chemical durability than the older 1737 or 1737F materials. The excellent broadband and color-neutral transmission and small light absorption combined with the low specific weight of EAGLE2000 quality glass make it an ideal display glass solution and enable demanding optical and optoelectronic applications.
