If the touchscreen for your phone/tablet does not work properly, such as by being unresponsive, or jumping randomly, perform the following steps to troubleshoot:
Make sure that you are using your phone/tablet in a room temperature environment. Touchscreens work best at ambient temperatures between 0°C and 35° C. High and low temperature environments can result in an unresponsive touchscreen.
Avoid applying thick protective film on your phone. Extra thick protective film may make the touchscreen less responsive. Try using a thinner protective film from a third-party brand, or by going to a Huawei Customer Service Center to have your film replaced.
If the touchscreen is completely or partially unresponsive, or stutters during daily use, press the Power and Volume up buttons at the same time to start a screen recording, and then touch the screen. When a white circle displays in the screen touch position on the screen, it indicates that the touchscreen is working properly. If screen recording is not enabled, press and hold the Power button for more than 10 seconds to forcibly restart the phone/tablet. If the issue does not recur, it indicates that the issue was not related to the touchscreen itself.
If this issue only occurs when a third-party charging device is being used, the power supply voltage may be unstable, or the charging signal may be interfering with the touchscreen signal, causing the touchscreen to report incorrect coordinates of points. This is caused by external interference. Try using the standard charger and data cable to charge your phone, and check if the issue is resolved. If resolved, the third-party charging device may be faulty. It is recommended that you use the standard charger that came with the device, and remove any protective case to improve touch responsiveness, if you are using the touchscreen when your device is charging.
Make sure that there are no significant electromagnetic fields nearby, such as microwaves or electromagnetic ovens. Such interference can cause the touchscreen to jump randomly.
Check whether a one-touch screen lock app is installed. Some third-party one-touch screen lock apps may be incompatible with your device"s lock screen, which causes the screen to jump randomly. For example, the screen may jump to the lock screen or camera screen. In this case, uninstall any such third-party screen lock apps.
If the issue persists, back up your data and take your phone/tablet, charger, charging cable, and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
