Parts-People began as a small company 20 years ago in an extra bedroom of my house. I had saved a small sum of money to purchase some computer parts and began selling them on eBay. After a few months I realized that people needed a place to go for Dell parts so I began building our website. Since we are located in Austin, Texas, where Dell.com was founded, I was able to set up a solid supply line with Dell. From the start, we focused on customer satisfaction and selling quality parts. We have grown a lot since 2002 but still and always the customer will come first. You will find that we go above and beyond with every order and offer free resources and support before and after the sale.

Really big laptops don"t get as much love as they used to, but there are still plenty of people who appreciate these beasts, primarily because they have roomy keyboards, big screens and (usually) lots of built-in features. Dell"s Inspiron 17R is a big unit that"s suitable as a desktop replacement-style notebook.

However, being a desktop replacement means that the battery life isn’t going to be great. Such as what are typically expected for a 17 inch laptop, this laptop doesn’t offer long battery life as well as portability since it is also bulky and quite heavy. Besides, its low quality display is another huge let down because the screen quality could be much better if it came with a full-HD display instead of the current 1,600 x 900 pixels display. It isn’t the laptop for those who want portability and ultimate gaming performance. But if you’re looking for a budget-friendly laptop for a desktop replacement with multimedia capabilities, the Dell Inspiron 17R is a great-value option.

Dell"s Inspiron brand has been around for ages and has seen plenty of transformations in its time. These days it represents Dell"s entry-level, value range, which is why its netbooks go by the title Inspiron Mini. This is a good desktop replacement laptop which, however you configure it, offers excellent value for money and performance. It"s got a simple, stylish chassis too, but it"s let down by a slightly iffy keyboard and a noisy cooling fan.
There"s life in colossal media centers after all, as consumers aren"t ready to give up precious screen real estate, even as they are ready to toss away their clunky desktops. The Dell Inspiron 1764-5595IBU has all the components that"ll ease your transition from a desktop to a laptop, except if you"re a gamer. With its Core i5 processor and ample screen real estate, the Dell Inspiron 1764-5595IBU offers an easy transition from desktop to laptop, but gamers will need a better graphics card.
With all the netbooks flooding the market these days, you could be forgiven for thinking that computer makers aren"t selling big-screen multimedia notebooks any more. The truth is that they are, and you"ll find a lot of value in this sector of the laptop market. The Dell Inspiron i1764-7629OBK multimedia laptop is a great choice for multitasking general-purpose users and photo and video editors.
Inspiron 17R(eloaded). Dell"s Inspiron 17 has already been available for a while and probably belongs to the American manufacturer"s top sellers. Now there is a refresh available, called Inspiron 17R, which can be individually configured as typical for Dell - starting with the color up to hardware configuration.
If you can live with its glossy finish inside and out, Dell"s attractive new Inspiron 17R is a decently-priced desktop replacement offering a superlative typing experience.

Finally, this is also the only machine in this group to include Microsoft Works software, providing a range of basic home office tools to let you get to work immediately. A six-month subscription to McAfee SecurityCenter software is also included for online security. If it weren"t for its poor battery, the Inspiron 17R would have been a clear candidate for an award this month. Its stunning screen and cutting-edge power make it a great choice, but the improved mobility of the Apple and Samsung push it into third place this time around.

Dell"s Inspiron 17R is a slimmed down desktop replacement that provides a more compact and lightweight design. This high end model comes equipped with a higher resolution display and Blu-ray drive. At $1000, there are less expensive Blu-ray equipped systems or models with better graphics for gaming. It does a decent job of being a good general purpose desktop replacement without costing too much.

Don your wetsuit: Once again, Dell is making a big splash with a new line of consumer notebooks. This time around, the newcomer is the Inspiron R Series, and the theme is a popular one: cramming in high-end features while keeping the price low. This big, stylish $850 laptop has discrete graphics for a little extra video oomph. It"s a great deal if you want a 17-inch LCD, but less so if you"re a gamer.

The Dell 17R-2950MRB laptop provides plenty of processing power and storage for avid videographers and photographers, but gamers should look somewhere else.
The Dell Inspiron 17R is a nice piece of work. It"s very affordable and looks good anywhere you take it. The 17R stands high on our list of desktop replacements.

Fair deal. Dell bundles a pricewise, attractive 17 inch multimedia laptop with its Inspiron 17R. You get a Sandy Bridge processor from Intel and a midrange graphics card from Nvidia for 700 euros. Is this a deal you can"t refuse?
Dell"s 2nd generation of Inspiron 17R laptops doesn"t feature a huge amount of change but what changes that were made are pretty good. This includes the move to the new Core i5-2410M processor that boosts performance and battery life over the past model. Also included are two USB 3.0 ports that give it some of the best overall port selection for a consumer class 17-inch laptop.

Battery life is actually pretty decent with this powerhouse of a laptop. Expect to get almost 4 hours of life with the included 9-cell battery (a 6-cell is available too) if you do intend on making this large laptop portable.

The 17R is a nice piece of work. It"s very affordable and looks good anywhere you take it. At the time of this writing, some hefty discounts were available on Dell"s site, making a 17R configured similarly to ours only $800. Even sans discount, the 17R stands high on our list of desktop replacements.

For $899, the Dell Inspiron 17R offers a great display and audio with plenty of performance for multimedia mavens and even gamers. Its impressive battery life, while not necessary on a desktop replacement, is a bonus. Our only major complaint is the 17R"s slow boot time. Those looking for even better sound and style should check out the Dell XPS 17, which, for the same price, gets you a more elegant design, the same processor, an Nvidia GT550M GPU, 4GB of RAM, but no Blu-ray and a 500GB hard drive. But it"s hard to beat the Inspiron 17R"s winning combination of specs, performance, and value.

The Dell Inspiron 17R (N7110) is a desktop replacement laptop that provides a competitive CPU and GPU for its price. The addition of the WiDi feature only adds to its value, and while its huge battery may not make entice road warriors, those who like to buzz around the house will appreciate how long they will be able to go unplugged. If you"re looking for better performance in gaming and media creation, then it"s hard to overlook our Editors" Choice, the Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch (Thunderbolt). If your pockets aren"t that deep the Inspiron 17R (N7110) can still provide.

The Dell Inspiron 17R (model 5720) won"t wow you with blazing graphics performance, and its battery life is woefully short, but it is more than capable of handling your everyday home and small office computing tasks. The 17.3-inch display delivers bright, crisp image quality, despite the reflective coating, and the 17R"s audio output is impressive for a budget notebook. That said, the Sony VAIO E15 offers slightly better graphics performance, longer battery life, and an illuminated keyboard, and as such remains our Editors" Choice for budget laptop.
The Dell Inspiron 17R is too big and heavy to carry down to your local coffee shop at lunchtime. However, it’s a good, affordable choice if you’re looking for a desktop replacement machine that has the power to handle productivity software at work, and a spot of gaming at home.
Low-voltage gaming machine?. A 17-inch ultrabook? No, a thick 17-inch device with an ultrabook processor and mainstream graphics. Why does Dell not integrate a standard voltage CPU? Does the gaming performance suffer? Our review with an extensive gaming check gives the answers.

It"s a shame that Dell couldn"t shave a little more weight off the new Inspiron 7 7000 Series, as it would have been great to see a 17-inch laptop that you could carry around in a backpack or briefcase. However, it does provide a high-quality touch-sensitive screen and strong all-round performance at a competitive price, and it will be a good choice for anyone that needs a powerful, large-screen laptop for use at home or at work.
Dell"s Inspiron 17 7000 Touch is going to be a hard sell for the company. The system is actually quite well built and offers battery life far better than most 17-inch laptops, but it does this by sacrificing its performance such that it only really distinguishes itself by coming with a touchscreen display that most other companies don"t offer in this size.
The Dell Inspiron 17 7000 Series is an elegant laptop with a MacBook-inspired design that"s very well manufactured. But it"s a hefty 17" device that doesn"t exactly make you want to carry it around all day, which is why it"s odd they used a low-consumption processor. The overall performance is fine, it doesn"t overheat and has long battery life.
Powered by AMD. The top version of the Inspiron 17R is equipped with the rare Radeon HD 8870M. How well does the DirectX 11 chip harmonize with a ULV processor and is the performance high-end or average? Our review gives the answers.
Dell Inspiron 17-5748The Dell Inspiron 17-5748 is a mid-range laptop that redefines productivity and fun. It may not be as premium as an XPS model but can deliver nevertheless. The black chassis with full black island-style keyboard looks professional and features an aluminium top cover with brush metal texturing. The design is kept classy with subtle curves at the corners and rear.
The Dell Inspiron 17-5748 is quite large and heavy side with 3.19 kg mainly because of its 17.3 inch display. The latter is a 16:9 TN LED panel with capacitive touchscreen and a glossy finish. The screen real estate makes of a perfect entertainment capable device. The Windows 8.1 laptop packs in an Intel Core i7-4510U processor clocked at 2 GHz with Intel HD Graphics 4400, 8 GB DDR3L RAM and NVIDIA GeForce 840M GPU with dedicated 2 GB DDR3 VRAM. The 1 TB 5400 rpm hard drive is a nice touch for users wanting to fill up on entertainment and media. Other features include a DVD drive, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 2.0 ports, a USB 3.0 port, an SD card reader and a web cam. Battery life on the Dell Inspiron 17-5748 is decent with its 40Wh 4-cell Li-Ion battery.
Seventeen and having fun. The new Inspiron 17-5748 is a member of Dell"s lower mid-range, multimedia laptops: Not as elegant as the XPS models, they still feature aluminum on the casing. We explain in this report why it is good for multimedia fans but barely suitable for gamers.
Of course, if we could, we"d tell you to hold out for a touch screen and SSD storage, too, but we realize that would mean wandering far away from the value aisle. In its good points, the Inspiron 17 5000 reminds us that there"s no shame in an economical solution. But it also reminds us that you deserve better than rock bottom.

With the Dell Inspiron 17 5000 Series Non-Touch, you get a lot of laptop for $450. Granted, its 17.3-inch screen won"t display high-definition content at 1080p, but it displays 720p with aplomb and delivers vibrant colors. At this price you don"t get a high-end processor and a blazing graphics solution, but you do get a fourth-generation Pentium CPU that can handle your multimedia tasks without a problem, and a nice feature set that includes a DVD burner, an HDMI output, a multi-SD card reader, decent speakers, and a webcam.

To be fair, we should say that there are some notebooks on the market now which outperform Inspiron 17 (5749) in every aspect, by far. Dell’s new multimedia station looks sturdy, reliable and even appealing, somehow though, today that’s not enough. We want thin and strong construction, high performance and attractive design. Yes, in one product.
On the bright side, Inspiron 17 (5749) is robust, has a long 36 months warranty (conditions may vary in different countries) and has a spill-resistant keyboard. The problem is that it weighs more than 3.2 kg, it isn’t very upgradable (especially for a 17-incher), has a TN screen with PWM across all brightness levels, has a mediocre battery life and is equipped with not less than adequate CPU and GPU.
All hat and no cattle? Dell"s heavyweight 17-inch machine with a classy aluminum casing looks good and provokes envious glances on the desk. However, Dell is restrained in terms of hardware. Nevertheless, will the luxury Inspiron prove to be a rounded bundle?
GPU downgrade.Dell"s 17.3-inch all-rounder comes with a Skylake processor and matte Full HD screen. A Radeon graphics card is also on board. However, Dell has opted for a rather weak model that does not quite fit with the concept of an 800-Euro (~$872) all-rounder.
In the hardware department, the CPU fits the pricing as well as the TN panel, which, by the way, performed really well again (except for the use of PWM), because most 17-inchers tend to be on the more expensive side, but we cannot say the same about the GPU. Last year’s 5758 was better off with the NVIDIA GeForce 920M since the Radeon R5 M335 in the new model doesn’t quite cut it. Again, if you are looking for a 17-inch device, the Dell Inspiron 5759 is okay, but there are far better 15-inch options with more to offer or you can also take a look at the Pavilion 17, Aspire E5-773G or the HP ProBook 470 G3, which all have a tad better performance/price ratio. Also, we’ve noticed some oddly high temperatures under heavy workload, which weren’t present in the previous version and this may be due to the GPU. And finally, the battery life is little better because of the 6th generation CPU but hardly noticeable.
For under $500, the Dell Inspiron 17 5000 provides capable performance, solid build quality and a large, colorful display. Just don"t expect a lot of unplugged usage. If you want a smaller 15-inch screen or longer battery life, consider the nearly identical Inspiron 15 5000, which costs $600, but comes with beefier specs.
Dell Inspiron 17 7778The Dell Inspiron 17 7778 is an unusual high-performance 2-in-1 convertible laptop with a large 17-inch screen. Compared to other 13-inch and 15-inch laptops under the same Inspiron series, this 17-inch laptop is equipped with more powerful hardware specifications. The Dell Inspiron 17 7778 comes with an Intel Core i7 (6th gen) 6500U CPU, 12 GB DDR4 RAM and a dedicated Nvidia GeForce 940MX graphic card with 2 GB GDDR5 SDRAM. Supporting Hyper-Threading Technology, Intel Smart Cache and Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0, the CPU can be boosted to a maximum speed of 3.1 GHz. Moreover, RAM is upgradable to a maximum of 16 GB by replacing the 4 GB RAM module by a 8 GB one. As for storage, it is equipped with a 512 GB SSD for high speed data transfer.
The Dell Inspiron 17 7778 is equipped with a 17.3-inch (43.9cm) FHD Truelife LED-Backlit Widescreen Touch Display with Wide Viewing. The Truelife display is a glossy-type of display, which delivers richer color contrast images at the expense of usage in bright environment. A convertible 2-in-1 laptop with a 17.3-inch display is definitely not common in the market as the usual convertibles are a lot smaller in screen size. The big sized convertible laptop might not be very convenient for users who are on the go, but it is definitely good for indoor users such as home user or office user.
As for operating system, it runs on Windows 10 Home 64-bit and it comes with Microsoft Office 30 days trial and McAfee LiveSafe 12 Month subscription. Audio features of the laptop include stereo speakers, subwoofer and two microphones with Realtek ALC3234-CG audio codec and MaxxAudio Pro for high-quality audio input and output. The laptop also features a 4-cell battery with 56 Wh capacity, capable of delivering up to 7:25 hours of battery life under normal usage, according to Dell. For safety and durability, the Dell Inspiron 17 7778 is tested for reliability to survive short-term heat condition of up to 65°C/149°F. The hinges of the laptop are also able to stay in tip top condition after opening and closing the lid for 20,000 times. This ensures a higher reliability, which can be noticed when using this laptop. The hinges feel stable and even seem to hold their strength with rougher usage. This is very important for a convertible laptop.
As for connectivity, the laptop has the usual Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi built in. The Chiclet keyboard with backlight is quite common in all Dell laptops. It is good for general usage and typing. For input and output, the Dell Inspiron 17 7778 features an HDMI output, three USB ports, an headphones / microphone combo jack and a 3-in-1 memory card reader for SD, SDHC or SDXC cards. There aren"t many convertible laptops above the 13 inch size, but for a 17 inch model, the Dell Inspiron 17 7778 is truly remarkable. If for some reason, a person needs a 17 inch tablet + laptop, this laptop is definitely a good choice. However, for the majority of users who do not need a touchscreen and tablet functionality on a 17 inch laptop, there are many other choices to look at.
The Dell Inspiron 17 7778 is a convertible 2-in-1 laptop with a big 17-inch display screen. It is rather uncommon for a convertible to have a 15-inch screen let alone a 17-inch display. With that, it is suitable for users who require their devices to be convertible but seldom carry it around. The convertible 2-in-1 laptop features a 360-degree strong hinge, allowing the convertible to be used in different modes: laptop mode and tablet mode. The base can be folded 360 degrees which places the keyboard on the underside. The keyboard will be automatically disabled after folding. Amazingly, in all modes, the hinge manages to hold up the screen firmly with very minimal shaking.
On the back of the lid, the Dell Inspiron 17 7778 features a shiny silver-matte brushed metal finish. The base also features a metal-like finish. The metal finish case does not capture fingerprint which is an advantage. For the edges, they are designed to be rounded, which is quite common for Dells’ laptops. The exterior of the laptop is considered very plain and simple with only a Dell logo and trim strip on the upper edge of the lid. The convertible laptop measures at 22.6 x 412.5 x 277.5 (0.89 x 16.24 x 10.93 in) and weighs at 2.77 kg (97.71 oz / 6.11 pounds). With this kind of dimensions, it will be hard to carry it around on a regular basis.
The Dell Inspiron 17 7778 features an Intel Core i7-6500U processor, NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics adapter, 16GB DDR4 RAM and 512GB Solid State Drive storage which is big enough for a big media library. It is not common to have a discrete graphic adapter on a convertible. However, since the Dell Inspiron 17 7778 is generally larger in size, a discrete graphic adapter responsible for 3D rendering or casual game rendering is expected from this convertible. For display, the convertible laptop features a 17.3 inch 16:9 touch sensitive IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixel. The pixel density is noticeably lower than other laptops in the market at 127 ppi mainly due to the large screen size. The screen texture is glossy which delivers high contrast and bright output.
As for connectivity, although it is a bigger laptop, there is no Ethernet port available. Users have to rely on Wi-Fi which is powered by Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 (a/b/g/n/ac) adapter. It also has Bluetooth 4.2. Apart from that, it also has 3 USB ports, made up of USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports. The convertible laptop runs on Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64 Bit and has a HD Webcam and IR sensors for Windows 10 face recognition functions and optimised video calling experience. The face recognition function is a lovely inclusion as it is probably the future of all Windows based devices.
Gigantic convertible. A 17-inch convertible? Why not? Anyone preferring the stationary use of Windows 10 in tablet mode should be absolutely happy with this somewhat unusual combination. However, the Inspiron also does a good job as a conventional office machine - only the keyboard could have been of a higher quality for this price.
We don’t know if the consumer market has been crying out for a 17-inch 2-in-1, but if so, would-be buyers now have access to one. However, it’s worth repeating that the Inspiron 17 7000 isn’t just a hybrid PC, it’s a legitimate desktop replacement, a trait that helps justify its larger-than-typical display. Even the $900 version of this machine packs an impressive arsenal of components, including a GeForce 940MX GPU.

Overall the Inspiron 7000 package is quite effective, though it’s questionable whether a 2-in-1 format makes sense on a device this size. Still, it’s nice to have that as an option. Because the 17-inch form factor has become a lot less popular these days, we were unable to compare the Inspiron 17 to same-size competitors. But we have to say, it felt great to be back in front of a massive display, and though the panel Dell uses is only 1080p, it is crisp and looks superb.

If you deeply desire a 17-inch laptop with a reversible hinge, we’re pretty sure this is your only option. Enjoy. The Dell Inspiron 17 7000, ultimately, is a stretched out version of a less expensive, smaller laptop. The result is more of a novelty than anything else. If that’s what you want, go for it – but make sure you’ve considered the problems with toting a 17-inch laptop everywhere you want to go.

As the world"s first 17-inch 2-in-1, the Dell Inspiron 17 7000 Series (7778) makes history—but it"s unlikely to change the face of the category. The 2-in-1 concept that makes so much sense for smaller laptops is cumbersome when magnified to this level, especially when it"s taken to its fullest Tablet extent.

The first 17-inch convertible is an intriguing one. You can"t knock Dell"s ambition with the Inspiron 17 7000, which offers solid performance, an attractive design and a large display that looks great with the device flipped into its various modes. It"s just a shame that the display has such a low resolution, which seriously limits the Inspiron"s potential as a desktop replacement device.
To sum up, we can say that this Dell laptop is a very good model whose 17.3-inch screen can serve you well in working with multimedia products, CAD/CAM systems for engineering, or for everyday work in the office. Also, it can be a very good PC substitute for students learning engineering, architects, builders and other such professions where portability plus big screen size are required. The display in combination with this powerful CPU is the perfect budget solution for a mobile computer that can be used for CAD systems, product presentations and multimedia.
The convertible in the 17-inch format. Yes, you read right. A convertible in the 17-inch format is an unusual combination. However, anyone who does not want to go without the advantages of a convertible even when working stationary will really like the device. You can find out in this test whether the new update with a faster CPU and GPU can convince us. Unfortunately our complaints are all too familiar.
Given its marketed purpose, the Inspiron 7773 falls into a category of its own and it’s really hard to recommend any other 17-inch convertibles as direct rivals. Still, if you are not invested in the 2-in-1 form factor, the significantly less expensive but still capable Acer Aspire 5 (A517-51G) is a good way to start. And for just about the same price, you can get a decent gaming laptop with GTX 1050 Ti or even GTX 1060 on board. Only, of course, if you are looking for a more powerful alternative.

Being a child of a very tiny family of devices – 17-inch convertibles, the Dell Inspiron 17 7786 2-in-1 is destined to be a front-runner. The lack of severe competition didn’t make Dell lay back and spoil this device. Actually, here we see quite the opposite. They presented everything a modern flagship of a laptop should offer, just with a larger footprint.
The large 17-inch Dell convertible has received a CPU upgrade. In addition to the internal update, the case was also completely redesigned. Find out in this review whether these changes make sense and whether the new Whiskey-Lake-U CPU can ensure a higher performance.
