(Reuters) - Online retailer Enjoy Technology Inc received approval from a U.S. bankruptcy court on Friday to sell its business to technology repair company Asurion LLC for $110 million.
Enjoy, a Palo Alto, California-based startup, filed for bankruptcy protection on June 30 with $26 million in debt. Asurion offered to provide the company with a $55 million bankruptcy loan and to buy it.
Enjoy had contacted more than 30 other potential suitors since filing for bankruptcy, but it canceled a planned auction after none of them chose to outbid Asurion.

It has been another couple weeks and there has been NO RESOLUTION and they still have my phone. Note in the email I mention they gave me the impression they were apple certified, then recanted when I complained the quality of the glass was not apple quality. Since I wrote this, a FB add for them STATES THEY ARE APPLE CERTIFIED!!! In Late December, Early Jan (can"t recall the date) I arranged for the repair of my son"s iPhone XR through Verizon where I have insurance. I was under the very strong impression the phone would be fixed with iPhone parts since I bought it through Verizon, and paid for the insurance through Verizon. When the phone glass was broken and my son was about to leave for basic training in the US Army, I put in the claim with Verizon and I was surprised to see they were sending UBREAKIFIX. I did a quick search for UBREAKIFIX Apple Authorized Repair and one of the first hits is an apple news release that they have added hundreds of new authorized repair centers, so I felt OK at that point. The kid came almost on time and he replaced the glass but broke the facial recognition. He said he put a note in there, and that he didn"t have another XR screen, but that we would get another new screen or the ENTIRE PHONE replaced, whatever it took. My son left for basic training the NEXT DAY. Obviously I could not "call to have you all fix what you broke, while you were fixing the phone". That should have been my lesson! about 2.5 weeks ago, I brought my iPhone X in to your Deltona store to have the screen replaced. The guy there was not wearing a mask. I was also not wearing a mask. I already had covid and am immune. In this area, almost no one wears a mask and its been that way since day one, however if I see employees wearing a mask, I figure out of respect for them, I should go ahead and wear one as well. I didn"t say anything to him about it. It didn"t matter to me if the guy fixing the phone was wearing a mask or not. Honestly, I caught covid while I was wearing a mask. He told me he could fix the phone. He said its expensive because Apple raised their pricing on screens. He told me the screen had a 90 day warranty so if I had any issues, just bring it back. I said OK. He was entering my info and got a phone call. I handed him my license and went next door to get a drink and donut. I returned. I have a technical background, in fact for a hobby I build tube amps from scratch. I have replaced screens for several people on computers and phones. I have been working with electronics for over 40 years. My industry is currently shut down and I am furloughed. I thought, maybe I can get a job here fixing broken stuff. I didn"t tell him any of that. I asked him what the pay was. He told me it was really bad. I don"t remember the number now. He said come back in 2-3 hours. I returned and the glass was not broken anymore. I paid, He told me thank you, and if I had any issues, it has a 90 day warranty. I said cool, thanks. I left. I facetimed my wife a few days later. The camera was dirty. It had not been cleaned, or he may have put his greasy fingers on it when changing the glass. I don"t know. It was hazy just as if it had a smudge of finger oil on it. It should have been cleaned while the class was off. A simple alcohol wipe would have taken care of it. I didn"t complain, I just figured, if you want something done right, you do it yourself. Problem is my eye sight is going, little by little. I had mentioned this in the store. I could not read anything he handed me. I told him that. I worked outside most of the week and the phone was inside on the charger, which is where it is 99% of the time. I do not make phone calls, and I don"t answer them. Everyone knows this. If I get a VM, I return the call, if its not a scam. I do text, and my phone handles that with my mac by sneding the texts right to the mac. My eye sight is terrible and I barely use the phone except for GPS directions and I take pictures with it. That"s pretty much it. I was home all week. The following tuesday, less than a full week after I took the phone in, I got a ding while I was cooking and look at the phone on the counter. I noticed a smudge on it and wiped it with my index finger. It moved a bit and came off. I looked at the phone again about 5 minutes later and it had what appeared to be a crack. I was surprised but glad I had the 90 day warranty. This time the touch screen still worked (last time it didn"t) and so I plugged it into my mac. It took me about 15 minutes to figure out how to sync it as I have not used itunes in at least 5 years. I sync"d it and then went to the settings and selected erase. By the time I was done with this, about 30 minutes after seeing the first crack in the middle of the screen, the whole thing was shattered. I had other stuff to do over in that area so I took it back to the store. The guy has a mask on this time and there is another guy in the back. He is checking out another customer that went in right before me. I said, do you have to wear a mask cause that guy is here? He points to the camera and says I have to wear one cause they watch us. I show him the phone. He says oh that sucks. I said yea, it just cracked out of no where so I brought it back. He said, oh well we don"t cover that under warranty. I am shocked. I said, did you use apple parts in the phone? He said NO, we use OEM specifications. I said, aren"t you apple authorised? He said no. I am wondering why APPLE raising prices on the screens has anything to do with your pricing. I am feeling misled. I said, I read on the internet you all were apple authorized. He said NO. I said so what kind of junk screen are you using? He says even apple doesn"t make screens. First off, this is misleading and scammy to say. This is a sales tactic for old ladies I think. Apple DOES make their own stuff. They just happen to make them in CHINA. They have full control of the factories and they have QC. I said this screen is defective, it should not break from normal use. He says, he doesn"t have the authority to authorize warranty, I should come back tomorrow and talk to the manager. I said you can talk to your manager tomorrow. See what they say and I"ll either pick it up broken or fixed. Hopefully they will back up the product they sold me. He said what"s your number. I said, you have the phone, remember? I have no other number and no way to call. He asked me to write my email down, which I did on the back of my original receipt which I had brought with me. He said OK. It has been 9 days and I have heard NOTHING from the manager. I told him it was not a rush, but this is ridiculous. I contacted the Deltona UBREAKIFIX Facebook page on FRIDAY of last week (dropped phone back off on Tuesday before that). They told me they were not the store, they were corporate. I told the facebook person, the whole thing. I was not yet really frustrated. They said they called the store and spoke to Maggie, and she said they tried to call me but no answer. Are you all really this incompetent? They said Maggie said to the FB message person she could help me out on the price but it wasn"t covered under warranty. I said they are supposed to email me. I have not received an email. THey gave me an email address. Told me to email Maggie. I said OK. I sent her 2 emails on Friday. I told her some of this, not all. I was still not focused on it. That will be a week ago TOMORROW. I still have not heard anything from her. REALLY? I contacted the Deltona FB UBREAKIFIX through facebook messenger several more times over several days. I have threatened to sue them, I have threatened the better business burau, but no one seems to care to send me a simple email and tell me whats going on, listen to my issues, and make an informed decision as to whether to stand by your product or not. Sometimes I was ignored and sometimes they answered. Eventually they said they called again and the store hasn"t fixed the phone because no one authorized they would pay for it. Really? The manager was supposed to EMAIL ME. I even emailed them twice and they could have just replied. NOTHING. Do you all know what TEMPERED GLASS is? Its when after they harden glass, they heat it up again and let it cool very very slowly. This makes it flexible. You know I have an original iPad that has never broken. I have a mini I bought 4 years ago that is pristine? I showed my wife last night how I could push VERY HARD on the glass and it was flexible. I was explaining the situation with her. YOUR GLASS WAS NOT TEMPERED PROPERLY. Of all the iphones I have ever had, and I"ve had just about all of them, I have never had the glass break like this. In fact the phone reason the glass was broken in the first place when I brought it in the first time was because I had a brass fitting in my pocket, I forgot about, tight jeans on, I put the phone in my pocket, and I sat down and it snapped in 2 right down the middle. Now I knew what I did, and it was careless, and I paid $179 plus tax for my sin. Using my index finger gently on the one over a smudge SHOULD NOT BREAK THE GLASS. In fact, I didn"t even know it was broken until a few minutes later. It didn"t make that SNAP like the APPLE glass had when I broke that. Your glass was defective. You didn"t clean the camera, so your installation was also defective. And lets not forget, you broke the facial recognition on my other phone (which my son has) and NEVER fixed that! As far as I"m concerned you owe it to me to stand by your substandard product, tell me these things happen once in a while, and that"s why we have a 90 day warranty, and send me off happy to evangelize the great service. At this point due to the lack of communication, the indication that you will not stand by your product, the product itself being no good, and the fact that you also broke my son"s phone (which I own and pay for), I am contemplating contacting a lawyer about a class action law suit. I am also looking at small claims court. You may win, because you might have some fancy lawyer stuff in your "worthless" warranty, but it will cost you money to deal with it and I have lots of time right now. I think it only costs me around $100 to file, maybe $200. I haven"t checked yet. I am also planning to write to the better business bureau, and post on their official site. I am the administrator of several FB groups, totaling around 16,000 members and growing. I feel like the people in those groups from all over the country, should know my story. I am a member of several dozen forums, some for more than 16 years, I can put whatever I want in my signature and all my posts going back more than a decade will contain the information about my experience. They should all know my story as well. I am a google guide. I give GOOD and BAD reviews on google maps, all the time. Between FB, Twitter, and Instagram, I can make a case. What story should I tell? About bad service and a worthless warranty, or about a company that like all companies, gets a dud once in a while and they stood by their product and took care of it? I am in the service industry so I am well aware of how this is supposed to go. You already got $180 out of me and if you stand by your product, you will at least BREAK EVEN, but if you don"t I can guaranty you, I will get every bit of my money back and I will do my best to multiply that over the next 5-10 years. I expect an email from the STORE MANAGER with an apology for why I was not contacted before now. She can tell me she won"t fix the phone and to come get it, or she can tell me she will cover the phone and thank me for bearing with her. Then she can tell me to pick it up. If I do not get satisfaction from THIS email, I will figure out how to contact the CEO of Asurion. That"s another rabbit hole. Seems like some kind of anti-trust situation to have the insurance company also own the repair company.
