tft lcd interface with microcontroller for sale

The display is a critical component in every project, impacting the case, firmware, electrical design, user interface, and even battery life. For these reasons, and because it is the most visible component of your product, it must be approved by the mechanical design team, management and marketing. Before these teams can approve, they need to see it in action. But it can take days or weeks to connect a display to your platform, initialize it and build a code library able to create believable demonstrations. Meanwhile, the whole project is on hold. Our 8051 development kit / demonstration board can solve this problem. Use it to get the display seen, demonstrated and approved for your project.

OK. I see what you are doing. Here is a raw screen which could work for you (subject to getting libraries for the lcd and touch part and designing board)
Maybe it"s just me being odd, but it seems strange to use a lovely big LCD and then slap a dirty great cover over half the pixels. Why not just draw the frame on the screen in software and save a manufacturing step. Drawing it would also allow future modifications/tweaks/updates etc.
Good point. We already have an app, so there is a full screen there. What I am aiming with this remote is going towards the future (touch + haptic), but still retain a little of that oldschool feel, with "buttons" and screen.

It shouldn"t be a problem to access a TFT from any MSP, but I doubt it will be of much use. Even the biggest MSPs doN"t have so much ram that they could hold a complete TFT image internally. It might be possible, if the TFT has a randomly accessible ram (many don"t) to "draw" directly into the TFT buffer. However, most TFTs require their content linearly written for each screen update. Impossible for any MSP wihtout external support (external ram etc.).
Well, TFT really isn"t a low-power application, so the MSP series probably isn"t the right choice for this application. The few milliamps more for a Stellaris or other processors surely won"t count if you drive a TFT.

The SparkFun TFT LCD Breakout is a versatile, colorful, and easy way to experiment with graphics or create a user interface for your project. With a 4-wire SPI interface and microSD card holder, you can use this breakout to easily add visual display/interface capabilities to a project as well as providing all the storage you might need for multimedia files.
To get started with this breakout, you will need an Arduino compatible microcontroller of your choice - we recommend something with extra RAM like the SparkFun Thing Plus. The breakout can be powered with either 5V or 3.3V. The microSD card holder is connected to the same SPI bus as the display which keeps the required pin count low and exists to relieve the burden from your microcontroller"s poor memory due to having to store hundreds of images of cats, or really whatever you want to keep there. We have also gone ahead and tricked out the SparkFun HyperDisplay library with a driver made especially for this breakout!
Out of the box, the SparkFun TFT LCD Breakout will come with a large backing PCB that makes it easy to securely mount the display in a project. If you need a more flexible solution you can remove the display module, snap off half the backing board, and then re-insert the display module. When this is done you"ll be left with the bare minimum frame around the display to more seamlessly integrate with your project.

There are various Kinetis parts with FlexBus that are very efficient with TFTs based on controllers with parallel mode. If highest efficiency is not needed any Kinetis can also bit-bang parallel mode.
Any Kinetis can be used for SPI, I2C or UART connected TFT display with controllers offering these interfaces (or a Kinetis with USB can use a USB device one).
The following FTDI display is quite popular for SPI connected devices, based on a controller with graphic accelerator chip which allows simple control and videos etc.(with touch screen control) for simple Kinetis parts.

In today"s world, almost every application is equipped with fancy user interface. Most of these interfaces are based on TFT LCD displays with a touch controller. At ST, we are committed to using our technologies and expertise to help our customers make their creations more attractive.
Engineers who would like to lower production costs by using an STM32 microcontroller with an embedded TFT LCD controller or a less-expensive TFT LCD display without a controller
Prerequisites You need to have a good understanding of connected systems and be familiar with STM32 microcontrollers and their development environment.

This board plugs right into the Arduino without the need for wires. It great for plotting geometric shapes. Here is a sketch that draws sine waves. --
I picked this display over its larger cousin sold by MPJA because I have to fit it in a tight space. The exact dimensions of the display -not the board- is 2 X 1.5. The display sticks up from the board about 1/8 and could fit through a panel cut out. After running for some time, it is possible to feel a slight warmth, but less than body temperature. Once I hooked up the 6 control lines and two power lines to the arduino nano, everything just worked. I ran all three sample programs with no problem. You cannot just plug it in to the nano and expect it to work like the Mega2560. You can plug it into the Mega, but youll need to change the interface pins in the software to make it use the analog pins instead of the digital ones. For the Nano, connect CLK to D13, SDA to D11, RS to D9, RST to D8, and CS to D10. The display only uses the SPI MOSI pin and the MISO pin -D12- is not used. The fonts included are bitmapped, but if you use the Mega, you can use the TrueType font clones. The Nano doesnt have enough FLASH memory for those. Lastly, the Sine wave program in the photo is not included in the sample programs. Would be nice if MPJA provided that one.

Orient Display sunlight readable TFT displays can be categorized into high brightness TFT displays, high contrast IPS displays, transflective TFT displays, Blanview TFT displays etc.
The brightness of our standard high brightness TFT displays can be from 700 to 1000 nits. With proper adding brightness enhancement film (BEF) and double brightness enhancement film (DBEF) and adjustment of the LED chips, Orient Display high brightness TFT products can achieve 1,500 to 2,000 nits or even higher luminance. Orient Display have special thermal management design to reduce the heat release and largely extend LED life time and reduce energy consumption.
Our high contrast and wide viewing angle IPS displays can achieve contrast ratio higher than 1000:1 which can make readability under strong sunlight with lower backlight luminance. High brightness IPS displays have been widely accepted by our customers with its superb display quality and it has become one of the best sellers in all our display category.Transflective display is an old monochrome display technology but it has been utilized in our color TFT line for sunlight readable application. Orient Display has 2.4” and 3.5” to choose from.
Blanview TFT displays are the new technology developed by Ortustech in Japan. It can provide around 40% of energy consumption for TFT panels which can use smaller rechargeable or disposable batteries and generate less heat. The price is also lower than traditional transflective TFT displays. Orient Display is partnering with the technology inventor to provide 4.3” and 5.0”.
Touch panels have been a much better human machine interface which become widely popular. Orient Display has been investing heavy for capacitive touch screen sensor manufacturing capacity. Now, Orient Display factory is No.1 in the world for automotive capacitive touch screen which took around 18% market share in the world automotive market.
Considering different strength requirements, Orient Display can provide low cost chemical tampered soda-lime glass, Asahi (AGC) Dragontrail glass and Corning high end Gorilla glass. With different thickness requirement, Orient Display can provide the thinnest 0.5mm OGS touch panel, to thickness more than 10mm tempered glass to prevent vandalizing, or different kinds of plastic touch panel to provide glass piece free (fear) or flexible substrates need.
Engineers are always looking for lower cost, faster, more convenient interfaces to transmit signals and to accept data and commands. The numbers of available interfaces available in the market can be dazzling. Orient Display follows market trends to produce various kind of interfaces for our customers to choose.
Genetic Interfaces: Those are the interfaces which display or touch controller manufacturers provide, including parallel, MCU, SPI(,Serial Peripheral Interface), I2C, RGB (Red Green Blue), MIPI (Mobile Industry Processor Interface), LVDS (Low-Voltage Differential Signaling), eDP ( Embedded DisplayPort) etc. Orient Display has technologies to make the above interface exchangeable.
High Level Interfaces: Orient Display has technologies to make more advanced interfaces which are more convenient to non-display engineers, such as RS232, RS485, USB, VGA, HDMI etc. more information can be found in our serious products.
