Large-area TFT LCD panel shipments decreased by 10% Month on Month (MoM) and 5% Year on Year (YoY) in April, to 74.1million units, representing historically low shipment performance since May 2020. Omdia defines large-area TFT LCD displays as larger than 9 inches.
While TV panel prices have decreased noticeably since 3Q21, TV LCD panel shipments increased to a peak of 23.4 million in December 2021, driven by low prices. But rising inflation, the Ukraine crisis and continued lockdowns in China have slowed demand. As a result, TV panel shipments posted a 9% MoM decline in April, to 21.7million units.
"IT LCD panels could still deliver positive cash flow for panel makers. But with prices dropping dramatically, panel makers will soon start to lose money in their IT panel business," Wu said. "Maybe only then will panel makers reduce their glass input and the overall supply/demand situation will return to balance."
The high-performance M60 model joins the lineup for 2023, complete with a 610-hp all-electric powertrain and a driving range of up to 290 miles. It rides on an air suspension that adapts to sporty driving. Elsewhere, the individual Convenience, Dynamic Handling, and Luxury packages have been consolidated into one big pile of features and sold as the Ultimate package.
The powerful M60 model commands a significant premium over the xDrive50 trim. While the M60 is capable of 290 miles on a single charge with quicker performance merits, we"d still stick with the xDrive50 because it achieved the same amount of range for far less money.
The iX sports a large 105.2-kWh battery pack that the EPA estimates will offer up to 324 miles of driving range per charge. When we tested the iX on our 75-mph highway fuel economy test we were surprised by its range. Normally, highway driving quickly reduces the overall driving range of an EV and the result is a fraction of its overall range estimate, but the iX recorded an impressive 290 miles of range in our test. The 610-hp M60 we drove for the same test also achieved 290 miles of range. DC fast charging capability is standard and the iX can recharge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 35 minutes when hooked up to a 200-kW connection. BMW has partnered with EVgo to provide a network of public charging stations for iX drivers, but the SUV is able to charge on other popular networks, as well as through a Level 2 home charging station.
The EPA estimates that the most efficient iX model is the one equipped with the standard 20-inch wheels, which earned ratings of 86 MPGe city and 87 MPGe highway. Going with one of the iX"s larger sets of wheels reduces those numbers, but only slightly. On our 75-mph highway fuel economy test route the iX managed only a 81 MPGe result, but provided an excellent 290 miles of range. For more information about the iX"s fuel economy, visit the EPA"s website.
BMW is using the iX SUV and the i4 sedan as the launchpad for its next-generation infotainment interface, which it calls iDrive 8. The software allows for customization of menus and graphics, as well as a voice-activated assistant. A large 14.9-inch infotainment display combines with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster to create the iX"s tech-forward dashboard design. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across the board, and BMW also offers a Wi-Fi hotspot with a 5G cellular connection. An 18-speaker Harman/Kardon stereo system is standard; a 30-speaker Bowers & Wilkins setup is an option.
Take your design to the next level with our range of TFT Displays including latest IPS TFT, circular and bar shape as well as large size TFT. With or without touch, these are fully customisable to your system requirements.
TFT-LCD technology is now fairly mature. As a result, manufacturing processes are efficient and production yields are high, leading to very competitive unit prices. Upgrading from a monochrome display to a TFT is now an affordable way to give your product an uplift.
Users of industrial display devices are wanting the same experience they have come to expect from a consumer device with all-round viewing angles. Switching to a superior IPS TFT display has become very cost effective as production increases and unit prices decrease.
Choosing a circular display for your next product design could really set you apart from your competition. Models are available from 1" to 4.2"in TFT, PMOLED and AMOLED, we have something to suit every application.
Large TFT display systems are increasingly being used for transportation information, retail signage and vending machines and kiosks. We can supply a large range of TFT solutions up to 65" diameter and in bar-style, square or rectangular configurations.
Anders have partnered with world leading brand Kastus®to offer a globally patentedantimicrobial & antiviralsurface coating which has a proven kill rate of up to 99.99% against harmful bacteria, fungi and antibiotic-resistant superbugs, which makes it particularly useful for products including glass and ceramics. This year, an independent testing report found Kastus to be effective against human Coronavirus on screens.
We are now offering increasing cover lens customisation options and processes to make your TFT LCD user interface truly stand out! Anders’ experienced marketers and engineers work with our manufacturing partners around the world to keep informed of the latest innovations, including mirrored glass, tinted glass, spot-facing, three dimension glass, and many more!

A TFT display is a form of Liquid Crystal Display with thin film transistors for controlling the image formation. The TFT technology works by controlling brightness in red, green and blue sub-pixels through transistors for each pixel on the screen.
Compare IPS vs TFT displays - the TFT display is the display of choice for industrial designs, but it can have its limitations. A newer technology called IPS (in plane switching) offers better viewing angles and colours, but is it really the best choice - we discuss benefits and negatives of both types of TFT display.
