lcd panel destroys t-con factory

Superimposed picture might be a bad tab bond, or might be a bad connection on the timing controller. I"d take the TV apart, enough to expose the timing controller and ribbon cables going from it to the panel. Run it with the back off (keep hands free of backlight inverters and the AC power supply) and start pushing on things. When you can make the image change by pushing on something, you"ve found your culprit.

One thing I did figure out is that if I have right LCD ribbon disconnected and left connected that half the screen works (no lines) and the other half turns white, and the VREF light on the tcon board comes back on. OTOH if I have left LCD ribbon disconnected and right connected it is backlight and black and no picture on either side.

I read another post in here last night about a similar issue and the response was a brief "panel problem". Does anyone have more information about common problems in that area or how I might diagnose or repair the board going into the LCD (that is, the board that takes the LCD ribbon, I don"t know its name). It doesn"t look like something I can just order.

I noticed that there are some capacitors on the LCD-connecting board (do not know how to name it), that are connected to GND on both ends (marked red). This looks suspicious to me.

I tried on the tcon side as well and noticed that I have good voltages there when I disconnect the panel, but when I connect it again, I will not see any voltages there.

For example, it could signal that the power supply is either failing or faulty. In other cases, it could mean you have not connected the HDMI cable well, or there is a poor connection between the processing board and the panel. But another cause could be the picture does not fit the screen exactly.

Sometimes vertical lines on an LCD display could mean a damaged T-Con board. The T-Con or timing control card controls the timing of pixels displayed on the screen. If your T-Con board is faulty, the only solution is to repair or replace it.

You can remove the T-Con board yourself and replace it with a new one. But if you choose the option, you will have to be careful not to destroy anything on the TV.
