After trying a total of 4 screens for use in a backup camera system, I’ve chosen this as my top pick. In the running were two 4.3 inch screens and two 5 inch screens including this one. The 4.3 inch screens included a generic Chinese brand one that seemed to be a derivative of the 5 inch versions. The other one was part of the Autovox M1 wired system. I almost picked the Autovox but I liked the 5 inch size better. The other 4.3 inch screen seemed good for resolution too, but not on par with the Autovox. Switching to the 5 inch ones, I tested a Rayoo version. Although size and form factor wise it was appealing, the colors were very washed out and innaccurate. There was also considerable fuzziness in the image. This Green Yi one seemed to be well calibrated for color and seemed more pleasing in resolution. The corny part is the Green Yi face lettering and the silver accent. For the performance I can live with those. I used an Autovox high resolution camera for my testing and found that paired with this screen was pretty close to the results of the full Autovox proprietary system. It’s also nice to have independently changeable pieces in case something goes bad.

Some vehicles have a very high momentary voltage at the vehicle starting time and the excessive voltage generation at that time might cause damage to the camera.
