I"ve also noticed in some of the other recent reviews that some users have posted pictures including a new JST 4-pin connector to USB-A cable. While I have not confirmed this myself, if this is indeed newly included adapter then this would also address another of my complaints (rear HDMI but not rear USB).

Since this is an updated review I now also have the data to speak to reliability and quality of the display itself. In my projects this screen has been in service almost 24/7 since I got it back in 2019. Most often it has been displaying static images (partial screen, black borders when needed) for up to 30 minutes at a time (think digital picture frame type usage). I have observed no burn in or color issues and the glass cover has remained reasonably scratch free (I am careful with it but at the same time given the length of use stuff happens). The screen is essentially as good as it was on day 1 in all respects.

EVICIV support did notice this review more recently and reached out to me (they wanted help address some of the concerns and call my attention to updates they have made, including in their support process). EVICIV support has greatly improved since I purchased this screen and I am confident now that if I run into any issues with their products they will be able to help.

The screen itself works well but despite marketing and labeling (including markings on the screen itself) it is not compatible with Raspberry Pi Zero out of the box. You will need to cobble together a mix of adapters and cables to get it working - this is why I claim it"s misleading to market this as pi zero compatible, especially since the back of the screen clearly has labeling for use with Pi Zero implying the Pi Zero is an intended use case (it shows exactly where to mount it - never mind that getting the necessary adapters to physically connect in that mounting position is a a bit difficult due to space constraints with the surface the screen is sitting on).

* Only 2 of the 4 mounting points are usable. This is a fairly minor issue as the Zero is small enough that only 2 mounts hold it reasonably well; however, most products that use small standoffs like this one usually permit them to be unscrewed and moved to the alternative placements - the mount points are not removable on this screen so the 4 mount points for the full sized Raspberry Pi models are all you get. (Mount points #3 and #4 are not usable, I would have expected mount points #1 and #2 to unscrew so they could be moved to 3/4).

* No standard USB pot on the back side to permit rear-mounted USB for touch input (the HDMI can be attached without using the side plug so why not the USB port?). You can power the screen from behind using the custom power cable and socket but that is power only and does not support touch input. (Note that there is a un-documented 4 pin header labeled GND, DP, DM, 5V - this appears to be a custom header for a USB connection but no cable nor documentation was supplied regarding this header - I will do some further electrical testing to see if this can be used as a rear USB connection so that none of the side ports need to be used).

* Lots of back light leakage at the bottom of the screen where the ribbon attaches to the display from the back of the board - this can be distracting to viewers

* While rear HDMI was provided, rear USB was not - why only supply half of the solution? If you want touch and HDMI you are stuck with a cable sticking out the side. If you only want HDMI without touch you can do this without customizing the screen

I have verified that the un-documented 4-pin GND (Black), DP (D+, White), DM (D-, Green), 5V (Red) header is indeed electrically connected to the touch USB interface. I was able to make a custom micro-USB to 4-pin cable and now have touch functionality without using any of the side ports.

Also note that if you are using your the FPC cable you cannot use the side HDMI - even if the back device is powered off. My screen appears to detect the dual connections and flickers on/off. By physically disconnecting the FPC cable I can again use the side HDMI. Not a big deal but during development I tend to use multiple devices so I found it odd that just by having the FPC cable connected it caused an issue (the FPC cable was connected to another un-powered and disconnected device - logically that should be an open circuit, the same as having the FPC cable disconnected but in the end it was not).
