This lovely little display breakout is the best way to add a small, colorful and bright display to any project. Since the display uses 4-wire SPI to communicate and has its own pixel-addressable frame buffer, it can be used with every kind of microcontroller. Even a very small one with low memory and few pins available!

The 1.44" display has 128x128 color pixels. Unlike the low cost "Nokia 6110" and similar LCD displays, which are CSTN type and thus have poor color and slow refresh, this display is a true TFT! The TFT driver (ST7735R) can display full 16-bit color using our library code.

The breakout has the TFT display soldered on (it uses a delicate flex-circuit connector) as well as a ultra-low-dropout 3.3V regulator and a 3/5V level shifter so you can use it with 3.3V or 5V power and logic. We also had a little space so we placed a microSD card holder so you can easily load full color bitmaps from a FAT16/FAT32 formatted microSD card. The microSD card is not included.

Add some dazzle to your project with this 1.45" diagonal graphic TFT LCD display module. You"ll often see this display advertised as a 1.44" Color TFT but we rounded up instead. This small display packs 128x128 full-color pixels into one square inch of active display area. It is a great choice when you need color and sharp detail while using minimal front panel space. At less than 5 grams, the display adds very little weight to handheld or wearable devices.

Thanks to the integrated Sitronix ST7735S or compatible controller, a single 3.3v source powers everything. The SPI host interface allows full read and write control of the display while using only 10 pins. The single bright white LED backlight has anode (A,+) and cathode (K, -) pins brought out on the Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC) tail. To connect, all you need is a single standard 10-conductor, 0.5 mm SMT ZIF connector.

While the SPI interface requires only a few lines to control this TFT LCD module, it is still possible to transfer data at a rate that supports 20 FPS (Frames Per Second) screen updates -- fast enough to play a full motion video.

To get started, download the datasheet and SPI sample code. And of course, Crystalfontz is always here to help you when you integrate this display into your application.

There’s just so much fun to be had by adding a display to your projects, and now with so many different sizes, shapes and display technologies – it’s more exciting than ever before.

We stock a huge variety of displays for every project and microcontroller, including LCDs, TFTs, OLEDs, Paper displays and more. We also stock adapters and accessories for your traditional HDMI displays.

Low-power options are a popular choice for makers. Our ePaper, OLED and TFT products offer crisp detail which can be powered by your microcontroller without the need for a separate power supply.

Want some retro appeal to your project? Check out our Nokia 5110 LCD display, or our range of classic 16x2 and 20x4 LCDs which come in a variety of colours.

This display is only 1.5" diagonal but has a high density 220 ppi, 240x240 pixel display with full-angle viewing. It looks a lot like Adafruit"s 1.44" 128x128 display, but has 4x as many pixels and looks great at any angle. We"ve seen displays of this caliber used in smartwatches and small electronic devices but they"ve always been MIPI interface. Finally, we found one that is SPI and has a friendly display driver, so it works with any and all microcontrollers or microcomputers!

This little display breakout is the best way to add a small, colorful and very bright display to any project. Since the display uses 4-wire SPI to communicate and has its own pixel-addressable frame buffer, it can be used with every kind of microcontroller. Even a very small one with low memory and few pins available! The 1.54" display has 240x240 16-bit full color pixels and is an IPS display, so the color looks great up to 80 degrees off axis in any direction. The TFT driver (ST7789) is very similar to the popular ST7735, and our Arduino library supports it well.

Of course, Adafruit wouldn"t just leave you with a datasheet and a "good luck!" - they"ve written a full open source graphics library that can draw pixels, lines, rectangles, circles, text and bitmaps as well as example code and a wiring tutorial. The code is written for Arduino but can be easily ported to your favorite microcontroller!

As of July 24, 2019we"ve changed the TFT used to be one that is more durable and also exposed the TE pin. The shape has also changed to accommodate the different TFT module, and the pinout has shifted to add the TE pin. Code usage is identical.
