When it comes to SoC, iphone SE (2020) is offering latest and best of theirs in the price bracket where Pixel 4a will enter. But Pixel4a is not offering it"s best SoC.

Coming to OS, though both offers latest, but iPhone will support for more years when compared to Pixel (unless Google wishes to go beyond 3 years of software updates).

The screen touch sensitivity is another big concern for all of us, luckily, during our test, almost all home button and touch functionality on both iPhone 7 and 7 Plus works well, except one piece of iPhone 7, the 3D touch function is not acting so well on the central part of the screen.
