I puzzled some hours with exactly the same hardware setup and made a quick & dirty, but successfully test script, combining LCD, Touch and SD Card Features.

I have got it sort of working with the below code, however it doesn"t ever clear the screen. Everything on the bottom half of the screen just prints on top of ALL the previous things that have been displayed. The top half of the screen works PERFECTLY!

The TFT shows only a white and static screen with any example of the librery... I´m already change the parameters line with... "UTFT myGLCD(ILI9341_16, 38,39,40,41);" and "UTFT myGLCD(SSD1289, 38,39,40,41);"

I am using visual code with PlatformIO extension, and the library UTFT modified for ILI9341_16, becuase my supplier told me that this was the correct one.

I am using the example file that came on a CD with my display called "Example07-ShowBMP" (as mentioned above), so I copied and pasted the pertinent lines from the "SoftwareSpi.ino" file into the "Example07-ShowBMP" and tried to run it.

I still had issues after fixing this issue with this example file. It seems the bmpReadheader(File f) function has issues with the SDFat library. If I comment out the call to that function, the bitmaps are displayed, but they are shifted to the right by about 10 pixels.

I compared the serial values that are printed between the previously mentioned NANO connected to this display with hardware SPI and default SD library compared to the exact same display and SD card connected to a MEGA and using the SDFat.h file. I am including that serial output here:

I hope to add some serial print lines and try different things and look into the SDFat library and see if I can figure out what is going on. I am also convinced the example program I am using is not very well written, as I tried to change the size of the display and found that while they made height and width variables at the top of the program, they did not use those variables inside the function to allow the different sized displays to be easily used. I"m sure the SDFat library is fine, but it is not a plug and play with this particular display"s example programs. Once I get it resolved, I intend to post better example software on the Amazon page where I bought the display. I like the display, but I must think this would annoy many customers.

See photos... item with green tab is as advertised; the latest shipment (10 units) is a different item. Note change to a serif Times font on the back silkscreen, the larger pcb that overhangs by 0.1” and blocks Mega’s end header (pins 22-55). Some panels are crooked relative to pin headers, and some touch screens are crooked relative to the display. The larger pcb size doesn’t fit my enclosure, which could be tolerated and worked around, but worse is that the touch panel details are also different and don’t work with my program (my previous 50 units MAR3501 with the sans-serif Arial font have worked just fine...)

Previously happy with this product, but this latest order is being returned, and I’ve got a dozen more that appear to be from the same source that are also being returned for these same quality reasons, but mostly because they overhang the end header and block I/O pins that I need access to.
