I'm looking to buy a high resolution OLED display module for an electronics project and have been coming up short in my searches. I've checked the usual spots (adafruit, sparkfun, digikey, mouser, alibaba, aliexpress) and haven't had luck finding something that matches my spec.

This seems like the way to go for anyone who doesn't want to wander down the path of buying proprietary display driver software. The other option is going with one of the OLED panels that Adafruit sells. They have a range of 1.5" OLED panels.

So far the only module I've found that comes close to meeting this spec is this 2.7" SHARP memory display module that adafruit provides which is 173 PPI. It only reflective though, and so work well in low light.

A lot of the OLED displays we came across that matched our spec used the same Samsung S6E63D6 display driver, for which there is no open source software driver. If you want to go this route you'll have to look into licensing a driver from one of these companies:
