USB flash drive repair - fast and reasonable, great communication! I could not be happier with the service and quality...of work, AND at a comparatively reasonable price. I"d give 15 out of 5 stars if I could! I completely snapped off the business end of my USB flash drive when my laptop slipped off the couch. PANIC!!! All of my work files, personal files, pictures, music that had been saved on that little buddy was at stake. I started to attempt to repair it myself with a soldering iron but then had to admit to myself I had no clue what I was doing. I had called FileSavers initially, which had sounded like a similar service to what I found here. They quoted me anywhere between $299 - upwards of $1600+ but wouldnt know until I mailed it to them and they could assess it!!!! Whoa. Doubled down on my resolve, and then avoided it a couple more days. Did my usual "YouTube University" self-education and got a better idea what I needed to do, but this is a clearly pretty precise and delicate issue. Ran across a video posted by microsoldering.com and saw in the comments that they had a website and a service price list. From what I could see, they charge about 1/3 or less of what I"d previously gotten quoted! Requested a quote through their link and got a response in minutes! I did oscillate a couple days on the $85 - $150 quote, but then decided to go for it, because letting all those files just go into the abyss was not an option, and I admitted to myself that me messing with it further was jeopardizing all my saved stuff, and I really don"t have the equipment other than a soldering iron. Mailed it off USPS 1st class with tracking and provided that info via email. Response time was so quick! Once they received the package Mike let me know within a day or two it was done, charge was $85 and it would be mailed back as soon as invoice was paid. I received the link to the online invoice directly prior to that email, paid that puppy via PayPal in seconds flat. The repair came back in a mere 2 days with BOTH my repaired flash drive chip and a new flash drive with the backup on it. I plugged the repaired drive into my computer hub by way of an extension for flexibility, and BAM, blue light!!! Popped up on my computer exactly like it was supposed to!! Put in my bitlocker password and.... SUCCESS!!! Did a backup to the new drive I had started right away. I"m soooooo flippin happy I cant even describe the relief!!
