Dynamic Displays, Inc. specializes in manufacturing RGB industrial computer monitors and rugged video displays for the factory floor and process control markets. Our rugged industrial LCD display monitors range from Open Frame CRT monitors, to NEMA 4 rack mount LCD displays, to panel mount RGB industrial LCD monitors. With horizontal scan frequencies ranging from 15-50kHz for slow scan and 30-90kHz for fast scan, high flicker-free refresh rates, and three, four, and five-wire video format compatibility, our industrial CRT replacement LCD monitors continue to be used in a wide variety of industrial applications, extending the life of older-generation CNC factory equipment. Our rugged video display systems operate under a wide variety of modern and legacy video formats and resolutions, including CGA/EGA digital TTL formats, VGA, SVGA, XGA, SXGA and UXGA computer video formats, RS170/RS343 RGB-sync-on-green video formats, differential ECL and TTL video and Sync inputs, and many more. We also offer other options for our rugged industrial LCD display monitors, such as touch-panel capability, sunlight readability options, vandal shields, and anti-reflective coatings just to name a few. Starting with a standard 15″ rackmount display, NLS enlarged the chassis to add a 6-slot ISA computer backplane. We positioned the operator accessible peripherals, I/O connectors and controls behind a gasket-sealed access door and we installed the power supply, hard drive and other internal components and electronics in locations chosen to preserve the required compact physical outline of the enclosure. Today our RW-15 workstation computer with its IP65 sealed 15″ touchmonitor display and front panel access door is deployed fleet-wide on aircraft carriers for servicing F-16 and F-18 naval fighter jets.

Industrial-grade rugged computers are designed to be used in factories where they may be at risk of dust, water or shock and vibration damage. These aluminum-cased, rugged computers can survive conditions office computers would not. Some industrial-grade computers can be used in a rack-mount frame, where multiple equipment modules are installed.

The same is true for military-grade computers, which are typically used in very harsh environments including extreme temperature and blowing dust. The construction of these rugged computers allows them to survive the ravaging of debris, sand, water and overexposure to sunlight. Rugged computers can be used in the construction and mining industry where computing requirements would put ordinary personal computers at too much risk.

“Rackmount” computers are intended to be installed in a RTMA rack along with other equipment such as a rackmount LCD display.   Rackmount servers are needed in where a large amount of data must be stored and processed. Some items can be put in transit cases, which can be used in remote environments such as battle fields, mines, or oil well sites.  Transit cases protect the computers during transportation but do not offer much protection from heat and dirt/dust during operation.

Like the rest of the rugged computer’s parts, rugged displaymonitors are designed to withstand most any damage and can survive being dropped and mistreated (not intentional, of course). Rugged displays will survive exposure to liquids or extreme temperatures.   A rugged monitoris another name for a rugged display and uses LCD technology. LCDs are the same types of screens used in aircraft cockpit displays and other applications where low power, shock resistance and sunlight viewability are required. LCD monitors are designed to provide low reflectivity and high contrast even in harsh sunlight. These unique characteristics enable a rugged monitor to display clear imagery even in the most formidable conditions.   The CP Technologies’ CPX1-241is one such monitor offering rack mounting, a 24-inch ruggedized LCD display with bonded Anti-Reflective coating, InfraRed touch screen, and virtually any video or graphic input signal

Occupying only 7 rack units of a standard EIA RS310 C – 19” equipment rack, yet having two high resolution 8.4” LCD screens with completely independent OSD controls and video inputs.
