Since VLC runs fine in Mint, you could compare the output when you start it from the terminal while running Mint with the output while running antiX.

i don’t know what it is able to tell in the context of my problem but maybe it helps. do vlc and celluloid use different drivers ? that could explain why it’s not played fluently on vlc

Note: There is no driver available yet for Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm. With Bookworm, you currently only have 1-point touch.

By default, you have access to 1-point touch if you don't install the Waveshare driver. Want multitouch operation and control of screen brightness? Then you need to install the driver. See the documentation block.

EDIT: The “may” part if because, if it’s a video driver problem, probably celluloid (that’s a GUI for mpv) would not play videos fluently…

on the same thinkpad (T540p) with i.e. linux-mint it runs in vlc fluently. i would like to use vlc mainly that’s why i would like to get it run.

If you want to use this display with a Raspberry Pi 5, you'll need to add the following line to /boot/firmware/config.txt and comment out display autodetection:

Hello, i tried to play for test purpose two different videos in vlc player. they both aren’t playing fluently but they both do in celluloid, the default player from antix, what can be the problem ?
