Engineered in Elgin IL USA, we designed this Arduino shield with our 4.3" capacitive touch standard TFT display for effortless touch development. This shield is ready to mate with classic Arduino boards such as Uno, Mega and Leonardo by connecting directly to the back of the shield. This greatly reduces software and hardware development time and simplifies the design process. No extra controller boards or messy cables required, providing a much easier and simpler experience developing with a touchscreen TFT. This shield features a 480x272 resolution display, capacitive touchscreen, and FT801 embedded video engine by FTDI which may be used to develop and demonstrate the functionality of the FT801 IC and our 4.3" touch TFT displays. It also includes PWM to control the dimming of the backlight and generates audio output with an on-board power amplifier. A microSD card slot built-in allows additional storage space for more complex code. This will eliminate any memory constraints of the Arduino board.

The S5U13781R01C100 TFT shield is based on the Epson S1D13781 controller IC with embedded 384kbyte display buffer which supports 8/16-bit direct and indirect CPU interfaces as well as SPI.

Resolutions supported range up to 480 x 272 at 24 bits per pixel and the device boasts hardware rotation of the display memory, Alpha Blending and Transparency and PIP Layer Flashing resulting in rich images even when used with low end processors.

The Arduino Due board is available online from Ineltek for around €35 and the TFT Shield Board is available for €15 or free when purchasing one of the supported displays.

This shield is the capacitive version as opposed to the resistive touchscreen we also sell. This touchscreen doesn"t require pressing down on the screen with a stylus, and has a nice glossy glass cover. It is a single-touch display.

This shield uses SPI for the display and SD card and is easier to use with UNO, Mega & Leonardo Arduino"s. The capacitive touchscreen controller uses I2C but you can share the I2C bus with other I2C devices.
