I have Giant Gecko DK3750 development kit and I want to interface the external 16X2 LCD module with the EFM32 Giant Gecko Micro-controller. I am using GPIO pins available on the prototype board attached to interface the LCD with the EFM32 Giant Gecko micro-controller.

I am little bit confused currently in how to use the available GPIO library functions to drive the LCD display. I am not finding anywhere the sample code on how to proceed with the code for the LCD display to interface with the EFM32 microcontroller.

Currently I am trying to modify the sample LCD code for 8bit microcontroller C8051 and writing it for my own Giant Gecko microcontroller, but finding it difficult to use the GPIO functions to drive LCD display.

One more question will be how can I assign data port and command port here in Giant Gecko , also how to assign Register select and other signals for the LCD to the particular port pin of EFM32 GPIO prototype board??
