To ensure better performance of your e-bike, please read through the SW-LCD product introduction carefully before using it. We will use the brief words to inform you of all the details (including hardware installation, setting and normal use of the display) when using our display. After start-up, please hold both UP and DOWN for 2.5 seconds at the same time, LCD will enter into the setting state, and the settable parameter will flash. The parameter can be set circularly.

Press UP or DOWN to modify the backlight brightness. You can choose from level 1 to level 3. Level 1 is the minimum brightness. Level 3 is the maximum brightness. The default value of the backlight brightness is level 1. Press the MODE to confirm the backlight brightness, then enter into the interface of Choice of Display Unit.

Press MODE, then the display starts to work and supply power to the controller, long press MODE then switches off power. In the status of OFF, the display and controller no longer consume battery power.

Hold UP and the display will show the MAX speed during this ride. Hold UP again and the display will show the AVG speed during this ride. Hold UP again and the display will turn to the current speed display.

Press MODE to switch between riding distance and total distance. This function is convenient for users to check the riding distance (TRIP) and the total distance (ODO).

Hold both UP and MODE for 3 seconds and turn on the SW-LCD backlight, when the surrounding light is not enough or it is in the evening. Hold both UP and MODE for 3 seconds again and you can turn off the SW-LCD backlight.

If there is something wrong with the electronic control system, the display will show the error code automatically. The following is the definition of the error code.

This operating instruction is a general-purpose software (version V2.0). Some of the versions of the e-bike LCD may have slight differences, all with the actual use version.

Attention for Using: Ride your bike in a safe way. Don’t hit or knock the display. Keep away from the bad environments when use, such as downpour, large snowflakes and solarization. Try not to use in under-voltage condition. The screen will get dark along with the temperature reduction when temperature below -10℃. The screen will return to normal when the temperature rises again.

When doing my research on what controller was ideal for my ebike, I thought, should I get a very simple controller or a more sophisticated but complex LCD display that can give me more riding features?

Even though you can see only six (6) main readings on the display, there is fourteen (14) usable functions you can access and adjust based on your needs.

Po2 – Km or miles per hour: depending on your location, you can select to display the speed in km (“0” ) or mph (“1”). For this to work properly, you need to set the size of your ebike wheels.

Po3 – Voltage of battery and motor: this is where you will specify the volts of your battery and motor. You can select 24v, 36v and 48v. Normally, the SW900 is set to 36v so make sure you select the right voltage grade.

Po4 – Display sleep mode:this come from zero to 60 mins. In this case, zero means your controller will stay on all the time and if 60 mins, it will shut down after 1 hr of no operation (this will not happen if you are riding your electric bike though).

P06 – Wheel size selection: this is where you establish the size of your wheels in inchs. This is important in order to display the right speed you are traveling.

I believe the SW900 LCD is one of the most functional controller for e-bikes in the market but from my perspective, if you don’t want to have to much of a headache, just stay away from it and install a most simple one, like the ones provided by Bosch.

What bugs me is that the PAS support stops around 39-40 kmh even when I am adding power myself and wattage is as low as 300. When driving away I can easily hit 600 peak. I also want to tweak how quick the bike pick up power (have a problem sometime getting away from traffic lights when I forgot to switch down gears)/. So I want to have a look at the settings because clearly some settings are cutting the power. However the display (similar to the one attached but without the KING-METER) won"t let me into the second menu using any of the PINs I found (1199 1919 etc). It may have been propriatery for this bike manufacturer (local brand).

So since I also like to have a more fancy display anyway and unless someone knows of more common PIN keys I can try... is the display of a Bafang 8-Fun rearhub generally replaceable? I get confused by all the different Bafang types... And even when it fits, is the code in the display or in the ESC? If I order an SW-LCD KING METER will it be a straight replace and allow me into settings? Any other recommended display replacement?

Obviously updates and changes will follow our LCD display options but as far as we go we will be utilizingsw900model.  Let’s look into simple but important details and instructions ofsw900LCD display.

Things like the color of the wires, dimensions and other deep technical details excluded because we think these are not the major problems that concern clients most.  Overall display is in rectangular shape and black in color with the6ftlong wire connector.  This is pretty long to wire up your bicycle.  Screen divided into smaller6 portionsand display has at most3 buttons. Looks simple? But that few buttons will give thefunctionsthat most ebikers need.  On/off button shuts off kit completely, which means you don’t need to worry about if your battery damaging the controller while your electric bicycle on rest.  If you had on/off switch on your battery it’s always wise to off the display first and battery but when turning on vice versa.  Again 6 levels (0-5) ofPAScan be manipulated through display by just clicking up/down buttons on the main menu.  And other background luminescence, wheel size 6km/h cruise control, voltage and max speed settings can be changed from here by just pressing buttons in different ways. One thing to keep in mind if thecontrollerdisabled speed limiting option from the manufacturer, it may not be possible to limit speed from display.  For convenience, we will include display instructions on ourmenu. One more important thing point out here is thatsw900LCD displays are not % 100waterproof. Connecting points may leak water inside if it’s left outside for heavy rain, for long time.  Wrap, tape can help to close the source of leak.
