As I mentioned in another post, Viziohas just announced the release of their “Internet Apps LCD HDTV” Series. Out of all of theVizio LCD Internet Apps line, this 47″ monster is the mid-sized offering. Not that a 47″ is exactly mid-size (let’s face it, that is still a huge TV), but it also boasts LED LCD technology, Internet apps capability, wifi, and so much more. This is truly a masterpiece from Vizio, and is sure to please any who can afford its nearly $1,500 price tag. Check out Amazon.com for Internet app TVs by Vizio for  these  prices.

This TV is amazing, and wins in everything from it’s sleek appearance, to it’s massive screen size, to its internet wifi capabilities. If you are considering this LED LCD TV, or find a bargain, this will no doubt leave you a happy camper.

Vizio 47″ LCD LED HDTV Appearance– The TV itself has a very attractive design. It features a glossy black shell finish. It also has the connectivity in the back of the unit (which I always prefer over TV’s with connections on the side for one reason: It hides hte cord mess). It also has the speakers located in a great place. This is a good design, because it projects the sound forward towards you.

Vizio 47″ LCD HDTV Features– Vizio sure didn’t go “cheap” with the features of this tv. If you are looking for robust features, great connections, and newer technology, then this is your TV. Here is a list of the features of the Vizio SV472XVT:

This TV delivers amazing screen clarity, loud sound, an attractive design, and the latest wifi & internet app technology. This series by Vizio has a lot of LED LCD HDTV people excited. This TV has gotten excellent reviews, and is an excellent piece of technology. I would buy one of these now if I didn’t just by my 32″ Dynex LCD HDTV! Oh well, I still like my Dynex too.

The only downside: The pricetag. Not everyone can afford its $1,500 introductory price, but hey, you can always come up with ideas on how to afford your dream LCD HDTV.

There are various panel technologies. Each has its own specific features - viewing angles, color reproduction, response time, brightness/contrast, production cost, etc. The image quality depends directly on the type of the display panel used.IPS

The most widely used panels are those with 6, 8, and 10 bits for each of the RGB components of the pixel. They provide 18-, 24-, and 30-bit color, respectively.8 bits

Frame Rate Control (FRC) is a method, which allows the pixels to show more color tones. With quick cyclic switching between different color tones, an illusion for a new intermediate color tone is created. For example, by using FRC, a 6-bit display panel is able to show 16.7 millioin colors, which are typical for 8-bit display panels, and not the standard 262200 colors, instead. There are different FRC algorithms. No

The maximum number of colors, which the display is able to reproduce, depends on the type of the panel in use and color enhancing technologies like FRC.16777216 colors

Purchased this TV in October of 2007. Now its December 2013 and it just went out so I got 6 years out of it with no issues. Repair people want to replace the panel but I figure it would be best to purchase a new tv due to the cost of repair.

Bought this Vizio to replace an older 42" flat screen that just died. Spent several weeks reserching diffrent makes. Was almost sold on plassma but chickened out due to burn in. saw this at Wal-Mart and the picture and price just floored me. Got it home and set it up. Set up instructions are easy to follow and written in plain english. Hooked it all up and **WOW . **What a great picture. Personalizing was a snap. Simple remote, was tempted to buy the 3.1 ssound bar but choose to wait, glad I did. Great sound, without the addition of the sound bar or my bigger souround sound system. This is really a great buy even if you are not handy with tools and wiring. It even comes with its own screw driver. I Had heard alot of good things about this brand now i know why. Planing on getting a smaller one for our bedroom. All in all one of my better purchases.

When buying a TV, it"s easy to get confused with all of the different numbers and options, but the two most important are the size and the price. In that regard, this Vizio has just about the best possible combination, along with several other worthy features.

For most people, a TV larger than 47 inches isn"t really necessary, so this size gets you a great picture for television, as well as Blu Rays and videogames. The fact that it"s a 1080p set means that you"re getting the highest possible resolution for all of the content you could throw at it. Also, its color levels and refresh rate are good enough to enjoy sports and movies with fast motion, which was often a problem with earlier LCDs, but those concerns can be allayed with this set.

The Vizio GV47L 47 Inch LCD tv is a great television. It has great picture quality and is great with blu ray movies and games. The speakers in this television are fairly OK. They can"t get very loud without cracking a bit. But overall this is a great television. Vizio has really out done themselves with this television. The tv is fairly durable and has a thick plastic like screen that is easy to replace. Great for a home with kids and other hazards that may cause destruction to your television set. The television overall is great, it never gets hot. Another con to this is that when you use it with the lights off you can see the light coming out of the back of the screen and may hinder your viewing experience. The television works great with any cable or satellite programing and is easy to hook up to any accessories or gaming consoles. The television is lite and easy to install in your home, if you do not like where you have it, it is very easy to move.

I brought this television for my bedroom because it is at a great price. I was not expecting the quality to be to great but I was really surprised. The color is brillant and the sound quality is remarkable. The Vizio is a great package for quality and price. The lady at the electronic store was trying to sell me a more popular name brand with a bigger price tag. I stuck my ground and brought this television any ways. She told me the quality of the televsion was not great and that since it is not a brand that is on the main stream market that it will most probably have problems in the long run. I brought it anyway because no one will be coming to my hosue to watch television in my bedroom and I was not paying an arm and leg for something that was just for me. Well it has been about three years and I still have no complaints what so ever. The picture and sound quality is just as great as the day I brought it. If you are looking for a television and don"t want to pay big money for it this is your best bet.

I really wanted a new TV, I shopped around for a long time!  I read a ton of reviews and settled on the Vizio!  I could not be happier!  This television is perfect!  Easy to use and the Picture quality compares wonderfully to my parents "Sony" TV!!  For the price and everything else I am happy I got this tv!!

This Vizio 47" HDTV with 1080 P is the ultimate gift! This is a great tv with great picture, great sound & all around a great tv & the best gift. We have had an older model tv with the big huge box behind it & a smaller screen with grainy picture & now with the vizio 47" hdtv we have such a great picture, great sound, a lot less grainy and just an awesome picture! This is the best gift if people have the opportunity to get a good deal & great price this is the way to go! My hubby has been looking at tvs as christmas gifts and looking all around for the best prices, although we are great deal shoppers we aren"t big on black friday crowds but this is a great tv even for the price without great black friday deals. Another awesome feature of this tv is the bright screen and the capabillity of running the movies ect... from the computer & netflix & the blue ray dvd players! We love this tv and would reccomend it to anyone!

Unlike most bargain-basement LCDs, however, this model provides a well-rounded feature set, including two HDMI inputs and a PC input along with plenty of picture controls.

The back and sides of the panel are actually white, not silver, and there"s a thin white border around the speakers. And the Vizio logo lights up white when the TV is on, then turns orange when it"s turned off.

Set atop the included matching silver-and-chrome stand, the Vizio VX32L HDTV measures 31.4x23.3x10.4 inches (width/height/depth) and weighs 40.8 pounds. Remove that stand--the speakers are fixed -- and the panel shrinks to 31.4x22.1x3.9 inches.

The remote control will be familiar to anyone who"s ever operated a Vizio TV. It"s crowded with buttons, many of which serve more than one purpose, and while we liked the direct access to input types and picture-in-picture controls, the sheer number and similarity of the keys will take some getting used to.

The menu system has a new look, however, with a friendlier blue font and slightly more advanced-looking icons. It offers the same options as most other HDTVs, Vizio or otherwise, and the layout is generally intuitive.

The Vizio has everything we could want in an inexpensive LCD. Like all 32-inch LCD HDTVs, the Vizio VX32L HDTV has a native resolution of 1,366x768, which is enough pixels to display every line of 720p HDTV content. All sources, whether HDTV, standard def, or computers, are scaled to fit the pixels.

It also can receive digital cable channels courtesy of a QAM tuner, so if your cable provider happens to have a few unscrambled HDTV channels it might pick them up. Vizio also includes picture-in-picture with a versatile array of combinations, along with a freeze-frame option.

The Vizio VX32L HDTV also offers more picture controls than your average 32-inch LCD. Three preset picture modes are on tap, in addition to a fourth mode that allows you to change the picture parameters, such as contrast and color independently for each input.

The smallest HDTV size we"re currently reviewing is 32 inches, and we don"t expect many users to demand the ultimate in home theater picture quality from this kind of set. Nonetheless, we put it through our standard battery of tests, and the results were mostly good.

We were able to compare the Vizio directly to a few other displays we had on hand, namely a pair of larger Vizios (the 47-inch GV47LFHDTV and the 37-inch VX37L HDTV), another inexpensive 32-inch LCD, the Hanspree Xv, and our reference 50-inch Pioneer PDP-5070HD plasma. We chose "Constantine" on HD DVD for this viewing session.

The Vizio VX32L HDTV handled darker scenes relatively well for an LCD, delivering deeper blacks than any of the other LCDs in the room, although the difference between it and the 37-inch version was fairly slight.

Shadow detail was a bit below-average however; shots that included Keanu Reeve"s hair, for example, seemed a bit murky, and when he stands in the doorway of the church with Rachel Weisz, details in the woodwork were less apparent than on the 37-inch model.

We also noted nearly perfect color decoding. These two factors came across in skin tones, for example, such as when Reeves looks at himself in the mirror. His skin appeared suitably pallid without the red push evinced by the Hanspree or the greenish tinge we saw on the 47-inch Vizio.

Flat-panel HDTVs usually have minor uniformity issues, but the Vizio VX32L HDTV sample we reviewed was mostly free of the uneven backlighting that causes brighter areas in a dark screen--it was just slightly brighter on the upper left. Its off-angle viewing performance, however, left something to be desired. When seen from not very far off center (about 45 degrees), the dark areas of the image, such as the letterbox bars, became noticeably redder, and the red tinge increased as we moved further off angle.

The rest of the LCDs in the room didn"t have this problem although, like the Vizio 32-incher, they all washed out to some degree when seen from off angle.

The Vizio"s ability to handle standard-def video was about average for a small-screen LCD. It showed every detail of the 480i format in our component-video tests using the HQV disc, and it also engaged 2:3 pulldown quickly and showed plenty of sharpness in the stone bridge and other highly detailed areas. On the other hand, it had a hard time smoothing out jaggies from moving diagonal lines, such as a waving American flag.

The Vizio"s noise-reduction circuit did an OK job squelching out unwanted video "snow" in some of then more difficult sky and sunset scenes, but we did find ourselves wishing for more powerful noise reduction at times.

We also checked out the Vizio as a PC monitor, and according to DisplayMate, it resolved every line of a 1,366x768 computer signal. Black-on-white text was nice and sharp, and overscan was not an issue.

Since their entry onto the television scene just a few short years ago, California-based TV manufacturer VIZIO has made a name for themselves as the leader in value-priced flat panel LCD and plasma HDTVs. Now it seems that VIZIO wants a piece of the higher end market as well with three new flat panel models (one plasma, two LCD) that should give the traditional television brands a run for their money.

The high performance “XVT” model line includes the 42-inch SV420XVT ($1499) and 47-inch SV470XVT ($1899) LCD TVs (available now) as well as the 50-inch VP505XVT ($1699) Full 1080p Plasma television (available in the early fall). The sets will be sold via warehouse stores such as Sam"s Club and Costco, as well as select retail channels such as Circuit City and Sears. Final pricing may vary at each retailer. For example, Sears has both models for $300 below list (links below).

The LCD models feature full 1920x1080 (1080p) panels with 120 Hz “Smooth Motion” technology to reduce or eliminate the judder found on many LCD televisions as they attempt to reproduce fast-moving images. At a demo in Las Vegas in January, and again at a press event in New York this week, I was impressed by what I saw and hope to get a sample in for review in the near future. The LCD sets also feature improved sound via a three channel front speaker array and SRS Labs" TruSurround XT processing. An optional SV5.1 upgrade kit ($299) allows the customer to add wireless rear speakers and subwoofer for discrete 5.1-channel surround sound.

The VP505XVT plasma HDTV will include Silicon Optix HQV video processing to effectively convert standard definition sources and programs to the panel"s native 1080p resolution.

The VP505XVT plasma model will feature a Matsushita (Panasonic) plasma panel* and on-board processing courtesy of the Silicon Optix HQV chip. This should allow the set to do quite well when upconverting standard definition video sources to 1080p resolution. The plasma model features a speaker configuration and audio processing similar to the LCD models as well as compatibility with the SV5.1 upgrade kit for discrete wireless 5.1-channel surround sound. The VP505XVT features a 30,000:1 rated contrast ratio as well as 100,000 hour rated plasma lifespan (to half brightness).
