RAM options are inconsistentAnother negative element of this server is not necessarily a knock on the server itself — instead, it’s directed at Dell’s marketing folks. I got frustrated when I looked at various views of the Dell PowerEdge R510 on Dell’s site. Depending on the page being viewed, the site lists the server’s maximum RAM at three values:

If the LCD display on the front of the server is detecting a voltage error, there is probably something wrong with one of the server"s power supplies. This is not the voltage into the PS, but the low voltage out of the PS. I thought the Dells turned out the green light on the back of the PS on a detected error, maybe I"m thinking IBM. But anyway, consult the dell management tools these will tell you the exact error. Something like the -12v is out on PS 1 (only guessing here on the problem). The BMC is seeing the issue and reporting it on the LCD, the dell server tools should be able to report this too.

We have a problem in the Power Edge R710, in the display appear this alert (Storage drive 4: slot sensor for storage, drive fault was asserted), and the indicator lamp flashing (green & amber), can you help me to solve this error?

Normally, with the E1000 FailSafe Voltage error, it refers to a failure on the motherboard.  You can drain the power from system by turning off the power supply, pull the power chord and hold the power button in for 20 seconds to drain the remaining power off the server board.  Put the power chord back on and power up. If you get the same error, you will most likely need to replace the motherboard.

System Board PS1 PG Fail on my dell t420 the power supply is showing green however i still have the amber lights blinking for system and electrical.  I am thinking it my be the power cord?  Any suggestions

I have tried the above solution Geoff @Dell and it works for me. i removed the power cords from Dell Power Edge R720 two power chords and then press the power button for 20 seconds and then plug the power back and start the server and the error gone from server screen as well i checked from dell server administrator. the error is gone and now showing the power volateg from bad to 230v.

I have green lights all around (drives, power supplies and motherboard), the server will not start up, drive 0 and 1 went to a foreign state just before the server shut off.  Yielding the same message as above... any thoughts are appreciated.

I was trying to cut a slot in the PCI express card to install a new video card. The problem is I hit a pin and damaged it. I have to get a new riser card but it throws these same error messages. So you might want to check/replace those.

I have a problem with our server at the office- Dell Power edge R620 ..the two power supplies are working perfectly, server display LCD show system board BP15v voltage is outside of range.

I am in same situation. I have Poweredge R710. Tried pulling the RAM, holding power button for 20 seconds, etc. When I press power button, the power light blinks green, fans try to spin and soon after the E1000 error pops up on the display panel. Ive tried disconnecting the 2 SAS cables that connect to the SAS enclosure, disconnecting the PERC card from the riser card,  and still no different results. Also disconnected backplane and and PERC battery and cleared NVRAM.

Im trying to determine if its a mobo issue or a SAS controller issue, or something different. As of now, it seems to be mobo as the SAS has been completely disconnected. Does anyone have any additional diagnostics I can try to be sure.
