Ensure ADA compliance with the closed-captioning tool. Universal design is key for ADA. ALL students should be able to access the same materials and have equitable learning opportunities. The YuJa video management system automatically creates captions for videos—all you might have to do is correct a few voice recognition errors. If you need additional assistance with closed-captioning, the Center for Faculty Leadership and Development (CFLD) provides guidance and assistance for creating closed captions for videos created by faculty & staff at UTEP. This service assists in the provision of required ADA-compliant captioning.

UTEP football fans will descend on The University of Texas at El Paso campus Saturday, Sept. 1, as the Miners kick off its 2018 season against the Northern Arizona University Lumberjacks. What those fans will find is a fresh game-day experience.

The Family Fun Zone will feature numerous activities such as a jumping balloon, 60-foot obstacle, two-lane slide, sports double jumper, human foosball, inflatable zipline and a rock climbing mountain. Civil service branches will provide static displays.

In addition, the first 2,500 fans through the stadium gates will receive a free UTEP football schedule cup. FirstLight Federal Credit Union first down cards and Chevy Bam Bam sticks also will be available to fans. The halftime show will feature performances by the top youth cheer and dance teams in El Paso on “Spirit Night.”

Family or company tailgating is available at Kidd Field, which offers access to tents, tables, chairs and front-row seats to the UTEP marching band and cheer pep rally.

UTEP’s campus map offers a 3-D, picturesque bird’s-eye view of the 420-acre campus that is readable on desktop computers, laptops and hand-held electronic devices including phones and tablets. (Health Opportunity Prevention Education) Health Fair at the Opportunity Center for the Homeless, UTEP’s H.O.P.E. initiative has provided free health services and health education resources to unsheltered and underinsured people in El Paso County. The health fair also enables UTEP health professions students to practice their skills and provide much-needed health screenings and social services before transitioning into the workforce.

Those that were wondering if UTEP would have an open quarterback competition this spring should understand how the team views the quarterback position. They are sold with Hardison continuing as the team’s top gunslinger.

UTEP continues to stack quality defensive linemen on their team. The Miners are led by four All C-USA defensive linemen: Praise Amaewhule, Jadrian Taylor, Kelton Moss and Keenan Stewart. All four members of the line are tough playmakers.

Through four seasons at UTEP, Dimel is 12-33 overall and 5-23 in C-USA play. The Miners finished 1-11 in the first two seasons under Dimel, followed by a 3-5 finish in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season. As a head coach, he has a 42-72 overall record.

UTEP is set to play Southern Miss (Oct. 15) and Old Dominion (Oct. 22) on consecutive weeks in the fall. However, there is still a lot of uncertainty on whether or not the teams will stick in the league once it"s all said and done. Maybe the conference has an amended schedule in their back pocket that they plan to release without USM, ODU and Marshall. That"s expecting a lot from a conference that continues to make questionable decisions left and right.

The current team talks openly about their hopes and goals for UTEP football. They want to win the first bowl game since 1967—which is the nation"s longest active bowl win drought. They want to win the first Conference USA championship in program history.

The UTSA Roadrunners are 6-1 against the UTEP Miners since October of 2015, and they"ll have a chance to extend that success Saturday. The Roadrunners and UTEP will face off in a Conference USA battle at 3:30 p.m. ET at Alamodome. Both teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Meanwhile, UTEP ran circles around the FIU Panthers last week, and the extra yardage (525 yards vs. 76 yards) paid off. UTEP put the hurt on FIU with a sharp 40-6 victory. The team ran away with 38 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those in the second to pick up the win. RB Reynaldo Flores had a stellar game for the Miners as he rushed for two TDs and 128 yards on 13 carries. That nimble footwork stands out as the first time Flores has hit the 100-yard rushing mark this season. Flores" sharp performance also set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season.

Their wins bumped UTSA to 9-2 and the Miners to 5-6. Both UTSA and UTEP have easy wins in recent memory. We"ll see which one"s ego takes a hit when they face off.

Running back Kevorian Barnes and the UTSA Roadrunners will seek their ninth consecutive win in the regular season finale against UTEP at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, at the Alamodome.

NOVEMBER 23, 2022 — The No. 25 UTSA Roadrunners look to become the first Conference USA team since 2017 to finish the regular season undefeated in conference competition, when they host the UTEP Miners at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, at the Alamodome. Saturday’s matchup is not only the regular season finale but also marks Senior Day and UTSA’s annual Fan Appreciation Game.

Although UTSA has already secured its spot in the conference championship game, the Roadrunners still have a lot to play for Saturday against UTEP. UTSA just entered the USA Today AFCA Coaches Poll at No. 25 and would very likely move up the rankings with another victory. This is crucial because UTSA still has a chance to play in a highly coveted New Year’s Six bowl game. After the conference championship games, the highest-ranked team from the “Group of Five” conferences earns the privilege to play in one of these six esteemed bowls, and UTSA is firmly in the mix alongside Tulane (9-2), Cincinnati (9-2), Coastal Carolina (9-1) and UCF (8-3).

UTEP (5-6 overall, 3-4 in C-USA) will also be highly motivated for Saturday’s game. The Miners must beat UTSA to become eligible for a postseason bowl game. UTEP is coming off its own impressive showing, defeating FIU 40-6 last Saturday in El Paso. The Miners are 1-4 in road games this year, so UTSA would benefit greatly from another loud, boisterous home-field advantage at the Alamodome.

Roadrunner fans of all ages can take part in free pre-game festivities at Rowdy Town, including live music, an inflatable obstacle course, interactive games, displays, food samples and beverages.
