Overall picture quality from the LG LN5700 runs above the middle grade Vizio TVs. Colors are very true and calibration accurate on this TV. The front panel of the TV is not as clear coat as the LN6200 series above and thus has more glare from in room light due to a more matte-screen finish. This also causes less picture depth and a poorer performance from off angle viewing. These are specs you pay for in higher end TVs with more picture technology.
LG omits passive 3D in the LN5700 line to help contain the cost, but I feel you still get some relatively good picture performance out of this TV, especially in a controlled light environment.
This LED edge-lit LCD television has good off angle viewing performance for an value LED TV. Compared to many LED edge lit models the 47LN5700 still looks good at angles around 30 degrees off center where the other will start to have the contrast degrade at 20 to 25 degrees. This is not a strength of the TV as plasma TVs are still much better in this area but it has gotten much better.
To go along with the Smart TV function, you also get 120Hz native refresh rate panel, along with built in Wifi and a built-in Web Browser. And although the LN5700 does not have the top end looks, it"s nevertheless attractive and some may prefer it to the somewhat showy Cinema Screen TVs from LG with the Magic Stand and .4mm frame. It also has a dual core processor.
The Home Dashboard feature is back again in 2013. It enables the TV to remember and list all the various Apps you have downloaded and viewed on one convenient page. There is also a dedicated button on the remote to access it quickly. LG has made changes to the dashboard for this year to make it easier to place your favorite programming on the first page.
When click on the Home option on the remote, displays a very thorough menu of options for Internet use, quick selections for some of the premium Apps as well as a selection for just the Internet itself. This year LG has increased the CPU speed by 120% to enable faster toggling and loading of programs which is good because we found it slow last year.
In the 47LN5700 the remote standard, thin, rectangle. The Magic Remote is optional and comes with voice command function this year and should cost you around $120 as an accessory. I especially like this remote control because it speeds browsing and Smart TV function a lot with it"s simple hand gesture point and click technique. Consider the option if it"s not too expensive and if you plan to do a lot of browsing on the TV. Amazon has the Magic Remote
The 47 inch LN5700 is a great value piece if you want that great LED edge lit backlighting from LG and tons of features sans 3D. And since plasma TVs are not produced in the 47 inch size range anymore this is a standout in terms of quality and value for 2013/2014. Samsung and LG sort of dominate this size LED category and the Samsung UN46F6300 equivalent is exactly the same price. The Vizio M471i-A2 is also a comparable option.

Bought the LG TV for just 5 years and there was no picture but there was sound. I called the service centre and they told me to pay $171 for the technician to check the TV but they said the TV is obsolete so no spare parts. Which means I may have to waste money asking the technician to come down. Hence, does it mean that I should throw the TV away?
I have purchased 42" LG LCD tv in 2010. This year in August 2016 there was no picture. Call LG service center to send mechanic. Person came and asked to send it to service center. There it was informed that the panel is dead and had to be replaced. I agreed with them. After 2-3 days I was informed there was no panel with them and take away your tv. What should I do with this dead tv?
This model is known for the picture going, leaving audio and no visual. They replaced the main panel for me a year after purchase. Only problem is that they replaced with another defective panel that lasted 10 months and now they won"t stand behind. I"ve had two panels go bad and an HDMI port in 23 months of ownership. They acknowledge the problem and instead of recalling they leave customers in the dust and discontinue. POOR showing.
I purchased a 42" smart tv by LG on 8-7-11. On 9-16 the screen went blank. I was told by someone at Simplified Technology that it was the main board, but that part is unavailable, and I would have to purchase a new panel at $950.00. I paid $879.99 for the tv. Plus $279.99 for 3 year warranty. Then I was told by Shery at LG executive customer service that there are no parts for this tv. So now I have a $1000.00 42" paper weight. Because LG stops making parts for their tv"s after 3 to 5 years. Do not purchase a LG tv.
My family purchased 4 LG tvs. 3 of them failed in less than 2 years... that"s a 75% failure rate!! My brother was "lucky" because his LG failed during the warranty period. He got his tv replaced after much nuisance with LG representatives. The other 2 failed shortly after just 1 year of use which is "by coincidence" the warranty period. I"m never buying anything from LG again.
I am currently on a call with one of the LG (TV) customer service agents that goes by the name of Henry. I have never been quite so offended with the lack of professionalism and utter disregard for a customer. Henry asked me to identify the issue and acted as if he was investigating a criminal instead of helping an existing. He laughed when I was explaining the current situation of my smart TV and told me that there was no one available to help me because it was after hours. I will be writing several complaints regarding this issue in multiple social and electronic forms of media. As my TV is fairly new I will also be writing reviews that reflect the poor quality of LG televisions and the lack of customer care proliferated from the LG company.
Purchased their 55" HD TV, Model # 55LV5400 - serial # 104RMZLCT045 from Sam"s Club less than 5 yrs. ago and now have no picture! Company representatives wanted to charge me over $300 to have it looked at and see what"s wrong. As if I didn"t already pay enough for this piece of junk! Never will buy another LG product, period! They strung me along for a few phone calls thinking that they may give me a 1 time customer courtesy repair only to say no, it was out of warranty - sorry! Yeah, me too! Sorry your product is a piece of junk. Just don"t ever intend on buying anything from them again!
Hi. I have been chasing LG and LG third party TV service center guys since last 2 weeks to get my OLED TV repaired even if the TV is still under warranty. After calling several times to LG 3rd party servicing agency Plaza TV Appliances they responded to me that they placed an order bearing ORDER NO. ** and Part no as: PART EAJ63268401 but LG says the part is not available until Nov 5th, 2016. Hence, I requested an exchange of TV with LG as a replacement for my current non-functional OLED TV, but LG customer service representative tells me I have no choice rather I will need to wait for the part to be available.
I have been chasing LG and the 3rd party service Plaza TV guys and already waited for more than 2 weeks and I cannot wait more than this and also I am tired of chasing people and explain the same thing again and again. Hence, I have thought of filing a consumer complaint against LG for mistreating customer and this painful experience with LG.
When I raised this concern over email, LG said that my TV model (55EF9500) belongs to VIP care department. Is this VIP treatment? Today again I tried to reach out to VIP Care which they claim and again I was asked to wait for 3 more business days. It seems a never ending process and my question to LG people is if they can"t fix my TV which is under warranty then why can"t they give me a replacement? There is no respect for consumer sentiment. I hate you LG, this is my first and last product from LG because after spending 3000 dollar on a TV if you get such experience this is really disappointing.Read full review
After treating myself to a new UHD 55" TV and deciding to spend good money to get a high quality TV, I was shocked to find my new TV (which I am still paying on) is lacking the right software to viewing HBO go through the web and other things like Chromecast. Because of this, I was forced to order cable since I usually view my shows through my Chromecast. When time allowed, I tried research a way to work around this fault in the system but with no success. Unless the app is preinstalled on the TV, it is impossible to download a new app such as HBO go. What"s the point of having a nice UHD 55" TV if I am forced to watch shows on my tablet? If LG is incapable of fixing this issue, then I demand a replacement TV or refund so I can buy another brand that is flash drive ready.
I bought 4 months ago LG 49uf6407 4k led tv. LG turkish internet site this tv has got Miracast. I called customer service and I said I had a problem. I couldn"t connect my tv with my cell phone (LG G4). Customer service tried to help me but It couldn"t. So local LG service have been sent to me. Local LG services technicians said to me this tv hasn"t got Miracast and I paid 50 turkish liras. Are you kidding me??? If this tv not includes Miracast Don"t you know your customer service person? Why I paid 50 turkish liras???
LG model 50LN5700-UH serial 304RMQK9H476 (1838) manufactured April 2013, purchased late summer 2013 from hhgregg. TV worked fine in the morning on Sep 20. Later that day, all I get is the LG logo at power up for a few seconds and then a black screen. No sound. Same at power off. The red light below the panel front center, stays on constantly. From what I read here and on other internet sites, a common LG problem, expensive to fix unless you are tv repairman (I am not). The TV was only connected to the cable, not WIFI services. Used very lightly...way less than 4000 viewing hours.
I am really disappointed in the "disposable" quality of the LG products of which I was not aware of when I purchased the TV. I am used to quality. My old Nokia phone lasted 7 years. My iPhone 5 is now 4 years old. I have a Dell PC that is on 24x7 for 5 years without a single problem. I still have a tube Sanyo TV that works like a champ 10 years later, etc. I will wait until the next county recycling event to recycle this lemon for free rather than paying the disposal fee if I were to pitch it in the landfill. I am also upset at the waste of money. For what I paid for the set, 6-10 years of trouble free operation was expected!!! Just adding my voice to the 697 complaints about LG TV"s on. Hopefully someone will read them and choose another product.
I bought an LG LED 43 inch on July 25 2016. My display is giving problem from the second week. I registered complaint with contact center in a month twice but yet after ten days area sales manager has to say that I"m a lady and should be in my limits. Seriously we live in a democratic country. I also sent emails to head office, spoke to contact center and service centre but there is nobody to understand that me and my husband works and tv plays a vital role in passing time for my two little kids. And if only a part is replaced and again these things happen again my kids might touch and get a shock that"s why asking for a complete replacement. But as usual consumer is not heard and over voiced. If you guys can help please pass this message to everyone so that it reaches LG and all customers like me are heard.
I"ve had my 50 inch LG for almost 3 years and 2 weeks ago the picture went out. I did notice in the last month that if I had it on one channel for a period of time that the picture would disappear, and so I would change the channel and come back to the channel that I was watching and the picture would come back on. I"m very disappointed and will not buy an LG again. I"ve had a Vizio for about 5 years and have never had a problem and just bought another Vizio to replace this LG...
LG 50" TV purchased 2013. Today first there was no sound, then the picture went out. Only had the TV for 3 years. We checked all other possible problems, it is definitely the TV. We are very unhappy and will never buy LG product again!
I bought this TV at Costco. Model Number 47LN5750-uh. I"ve had it for 2.5 years. No picture. Flashes on for a split second and then goes black. There are thousands of reviews like this on multiple sites for this LG TV. There is even a class action lawsuit. I am so pissed. They seem to fail shortly after the end of the 2 year warranty. I talked to LG and they acted like they"ve never heard of a problem similar to mine. I"m never doing business with LG again. Neither should Costco. Horrible.
Bought our TV from Sam"s Club in Dec 2014. Screen started to dim and finally went black. Have sound and when you turn on the TV the LG symbol shows up for a brief second and when you turn it off, the picture will also flash on for just a second. Called LG and was informed warranty was only 12 months too bad but if I pay $350 they will send someone out to repair and the repair is only guaranteed for 60 days. What?! The TV isn"t even 2 yrs old however because it was a 2013 model sold in 2014 they really don"t want to help. Asked for a supervisor and informed they all went home!! What a joke. Will never buy from this company again.
NOT HAPPY CUSTOMER! My husband and I purchased a 50" LG smart 120HZ Led TV on February 09, 2014. It cost us $849.99. It had nice picture, the sound was a little quiet but we had hooked up a sound bar and it worked great. Last week the picture went out, took it to a repair guy and he told us that it would cost more to fix it than go buy a new TV. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I SPENT $849.99 and this TV has a 1 year warranty and it goes out in 30 months. What is wrong with this picture and I am not talking about the dang TV... Will not purchase another LG appliance, I can"t afford to spend that kind of money and not have it last a few years!
There it was. A random crack in the lower left quadrant of my beautiful LG 65 inch 4k LED TV. About 3 inches in diameter. Along with it vertical and horizontal lines running across the entire screen. I called LG to get service on this matter and they insist that there was physical damage. 1st of all, I was gone for 3 weeks on a business trip and no one was home. 2nd, TV sits in a recessed area away from living area. I explained this to them with no relief from them.
Then, I do some Google search on random TV cracks on LG TV (Thank God for Google). Well, there are many cases where the screen just develops a crack. I even found cases where the spot was in the same quadrant w/ running lines. This is not a random incident! Anyhow, LG customer service was horrible and useless. I am now escalating this matter with BBB and will file a complaint with FTC. How can a TV less than a year old develop such a crack? It is just bad quality and LG is not owning up to the standards of the US consumers. Shame on LG.Read full review
I bought an LG TV in 2013 and was happy with it until I wake up one morning and all I see is vertical lines and I find out it is the panel. So after various calls to LG Customer support they made me buy an insurance called LG premium repair coverage for $350 and said a technician will come and repair it right away. So, a nice technician comes after 2 days and tells me the panel needs to be replaced which we all already knew and guess what? LG is supposed to confirm with him that it is ok to go ahead with repairs and they just cancel my coverage and charge me $100 diagnose fee on top!
After 20 phone calls, supervisors, technicians and all and 2 weeks without tv, I am stuck with a tv which can only be repaired for $1400. Staff is rude and they do not know what they are talking about and they cannot even spell! I had the worst experience ever with LG Staff! Now, I know that if you buy a tv from LG it is only good for a couple of years, not too long. Mine lasted 2.5 years as I was hardly using it, I guess... Worst choice ever, and if they were kind and knowledgeable you would say it is only a tv, things may break but LG staff"s negative attitude makes it a nightmare.Read full review
I purchased LED TV in Oct 2014. Before two year vertical linings are coming. Picture is not coming. I called the service engineer. They are telling me panel and T-con board are not working. Total cost of repair Rs.20000 - I crossed check from market. They are saying only T-con board is burn. If company people can change T-con it will work. Now company people are telling me no I have change Panel and T-Con board both.
My question is it joke? In two year I am not going to repair more it. And request you people kindly post these things in review of online sales of LG products. Not here. If they cannot support us we can decease sales of this brand. We are suffering. Nobody else should be suffer. Kindly post these things online. Sales review of LG products.Read full review
Bought my $1,900.00 Piece of junk in January of 2015. Crack in Screen developed on 08/23/2016, now three days later TV is a piece of garbage. Nothing impacted the screen to cause damage, LG will not compensate anything to cover part of cost, will not offer anything at all. Never will buy any LG product again. LG stands for Lifes Good, for them because they are selling junk to everybody. With no customer support or standing behind their product.
Recently I had brought my LG 50" Plasma TV, model: 50PG20R. For repair due to it will hang up when display in high resolution. What the service center told me is that LG don"t have parts. I can"t believe for such a well known international brand they expect us to throw it once it broke down. To us it"s a heavy investment & it"s not like cheap things which you can just throw away like that.
I brought 47" LG smart TV on November 2014. It"s less than 2 years. But currently no picture is coming only sound is coming on TV. With such a short time this kind of performance is very much frustrating.
Sooooo unhappy with my TV. I bought a 42" LG exactly 2 years and 1 month ago and now, the screen is black and it"s dead. I called my TV provider, thinking it was something with the service. The repair guy came, looked at it and said "Oh, it"s an LG. Not surprising. They barely make it 2 years. You got an extra month." I really cannot afford a new TV right now but I also will go bonkers without one. I am not a happy camper and WILL NEVER BUY LG again!
On 3/10/14 I purchased a LG 47LN5700-47 in 1080p Smart TV. 13 mos later it stopped working and I called LG who sent a service man who said the panel was bad and after pleading with the warranty dept., it was repaired under a (one time) extended warranty. One yr after it was repaired the panel failed again. I was referred to the off-warranty dept. who informed me a repairman would be dispatched for 300.00. I told him the same thing happened a yr ago and basically what he was telling me was for 300.00 we will send a repair man to tell me I need a new TV. He briefly hesitated and said, "Yes sir". It appears to me these TVs were put on the market knowing the problem exists. This is no doubt the reason they recently changed their warranty from 12 to 3 mos. Remember what GOES AROUND COMES AROUND.
I am now disabled and on a fixed income. That, however, shouldn"t matter. I have purchased 2 LG flat screen LCD TVs in less than one year’s time because the screen developed lines, dark areas, and finally no screen at all. My call to the service center was disheartening, as they said I could purchase another TV for what it would cost to repair it. And then I see so many people have had the same problem! And no one got theirs repaired. Shame on you, LG. I am done with your company. I also didn"t like your cell phones either, as long as I"m complaining, but never have I had such cheaply made televisions. These are major purchases, not paper cups to throw away.
I purchase LG led 42 lb 5510 amount of Rs 49500 in June 2014 from Jaipur. After 2 years screen problem then I called customer care. His visit charge was 800 Rs and inform led TV will repair in 20000 rupees. Compare this I have Samsung TV in my village since 2009 without any complaint so I request to all buyer that do not purchase LG item in future otherwise, you will feel like me after some time.
To my surprise at an LG product, I"ve recently found myself like many others, about 2 years after purchase, lost the picture on my LN5400 LG LED flat screen TV. I still had sound, but the screen is black. Very disappointing. I agree that this model should be recalled.
First, I would like to mention that both an LED TV and a LCD TV are actually LCD TVs except that first one has LED stripes and the latter one has CCFL Backlights- (Florescent Tubes).

Repair- Suspect a stuck VOLUME down(-) button. A normal button will give you that tactile feel, compare it with the other buttons. If it feels similar to the other buttons then it could be the switch behind that button. The switch used in most front panel buttons are called ‘tact’ switch, obviously named because of that tactile feedback

Repair- Replaced Power Board, have sound no picture. Can see movement, with flashlight-Apparently, shorted Mosfet on Power Board, burnt LED strip inside panel.
Symptom–While I was fixing a ribbon cable on LCD screen TCON board popped. Replaced with new one but now my screen has sound but image is extremely bright. With image but no colors.
Repair–Replaced T-Con Board–No change. Found shorted VA1-(Variable Resistor) Since it is on the Control Board, which is Micro Soldered to the Panel and cannot be replaced, it`s considered as panel failure-
Activate the TV’s menu — let’s see if that flickers too. We want to see if the menu flickers, because it might be only the TV’s picture that flickers. If the menu flickers, then we know we’re dealing with the panel or the TCON. If only the picture flickers and the menu is steady, then we know we’re dealing with the Main board.
LG LED TV-50LN5310 Symptom–Turns on quick white flash (Backlights) then sound, no picture- Repair-Burnt Line inside panel on negative side–Re-soldered negative line on connector

Symptom-When the TV is plugged in the Red Light is on-No Blinking-Then when I turn the set on with either the front panel Button or the remote control the light then goes off and nothing happens, No sound or picture
Repair-3 shorted LEDs inside panel–In stead of replacing strips, put a jumper resistor and soldered in–Use 5K Resistors is best–Remember his LEDs where in Sequence and not Parallel–
Samsung-LCD TV Multiple Color Vertical Lines- This type of TV problem, we must call out the OSD Menu to confirm–If the OSD Menu is showing normally on the screen, but the-background is full of color vertical lines then this symptom is caused by the Main Board or LVDS Cable–
The only thing you have to do is disconnect the cable between the power board and main board. Then, power on your TV. If you see the back light in the back of panel the problem is the main board if not, the power supply is the problem.
Sony LCD TVHas dim picture–1 of the CCFL(cold cathode fluorescent lamp/light) could have burnt or the circuit(inverter) that powers it might have failed. A technician will usually swap the connectors between the suspected dead lamp with the other good ones. The backlight consist of more than 2 CCFLs. When swapped and the dark area is at the same location then you have a bad lamp, otherwise suspect the inverter.
Sony 52″ LCD TVSymptom-Turns off by its self after a few minutes- Try to check first TIMER Settings on the TV set. Disable features such as auto-off and sleep timer. If everything seems to be ok, check air vent holes for possible obstruction and clean, maybe a sign of overheating.
Repair-Activate the TV’s menu — let’s see if that flickers too. We want to see if the menu flickers, because it might be only the TV’s picture that flickers. If the menu flickers, then we know we’re dealing with the panel or the T-CON Board. If only the picture flickers and the menu is steady, then we know we’re dealing with the Main board.
Symptom– Turns on, then says “Digital Television” then turns off.( Short flash of Light...and a short Display ) This type of failure is almost always caused by Inverter circuit failure, in the majority of LCD TV’s. Check the pico fuses or smd fuses and HV Transformers in the main inverter circuit, but with these models, I know that one of the HV Transformers, often develops a open a secondary winding. It is usually the HV Transformer, at location T1100
Symptom–Nothing happens if I press buttons from the remote control or even on the TV panel. If I unplug it for an extended period of time it seems to “boot up” right away and everything is fine.
Oklahoma City, OK: A federal class action lawsuit has been filed againt LG Electronics USA, alleging that the electronics manufacturer"s plasma and LCD Television sets are defective, impacting the lifespan of the Televisions.
The lawsuit is brought by the plaintiff on behalf of himself and anyone else who purchased certain defective LG Televisions in the state of Nevada. Class televisions include but are not limited to models 32LC2D, 37LC2D, 42LC2D, 42PC3D, 42PC3DV, 47LC7DF and 50PC3D.
I have a LG tv which I purchased several years ago, from around 6 months it started turning its self on and off frequently, the problem can stop for a couple of weeks the. It starts again. I would never purchase an LG tv again.
I purchased a LG 47LN5400 in August of 2013. In March of 2016, picture went black. I had not purchased extended warranty from Best Buy. I called LG about the issue. LG repaired the TV as a one time courtesy. The LED strips were replaced on one-half of TV. Well, about 3 MONTHS later, the same thing happened again, no picture. The contractor that did the work repaired TV again, no charge to me. That repair work lasted from 2016 until 2019, picture went out. LG advised out of warranty and nothing they can do about it. I agree with others that a class action lawsuit should be brought against LG. It appears LG is using inferior strips, knowing they won’t last long, and are outside the warranty period.
Spent many, many hours being shoved around by LG re. my 2017 55 curved oled. Under an extended warranty and they LG had AIG send repairman to assess the issue. He said he sees it all the time. They call it burn-in.
While it’s unlikely that LG will ever face any punishment for this clear defect in their products, it’s good to know that others hate this bullshit company.
Bought 65 inch OLED, curved screen, two years ago. Over the last few months, center of screen has green tint. Right side of screen is normal. Also have bad burn in, I lower left corner. This TV was very expensive, am thoroughly disgusted. Obviously beyond LG 1 yr warranty. Will never buy anything from LG again !,,,
LG 55UJ6200 AU bought at Walmart less than a year ago, took it to our secondary place of residence in South America to replace a smaller Vizio in our living room, out of the box, connected it and watched TV until 11 pm, suddenly, no image at all, next morning I it looked into it and found one HDMI port with burn marks (Have a Trip Lite in-line protector for all our electronics plus a delay voltage fluctuation disconnect device on all TV, no storms or loss of power at all that evening.
I am at witt"s end with this TV, beautiful when it works but it"s unreliable junk, had the Vizio for over 3 years and two Toshiba 40" LCDs for 8 years at the same location, all still going strong, would not buy another LG product if they were the last manufacturer left on the face of the earth!,
I purchased a LG 55LG6000 tv and its about 4 years old. The tv just started going off and on for no apparent reason. It will cost as much as a new one get it fix. I got a factory warranty and paid for an extended warranty from LG. I contacted them and they had no record of the warranty or me ever registering the TV.
LG tv. Was gift from my job. After just a year screen just turns on and off. I see now this is a common issue. I have no receipt so I guess I have no way of returning or doing anything but hoping someone will fix.
My LG TV started turning on and off by itself. Of course it"s out of warranty. LG just sent me 2 places that could possibly fix it. But they informed me that it could cost just as much as buying a new one! LG should definitely be held accountable! Had the same issue with an LG phone as well. I will never buy anymore LG products!
I bought an LG 47" LED 47LN5750 only 5 years ago from Sam"s Club. I purchased the Sam"s Club 3 year warranty. Just one month shy of the warranty being expired, the back light went out. Same symptoms as everyone else; black screen but has sound and the LG logo flashes for a second when the TV is turned on. Sam"s Club sent someone to repair it and replaced the back light inverter all under warranty, so no charge. Now, 2 years later the same thing just happened. Of course not under warranty. A TV should last more than 5 years, especially with it already being repaired once. Disappointed with the LG brand. I will not buy anything LG again.
Purchased an LG HD 55" OLED TV 1.5 years ago. I have glaucoma and it"s superb resolution, blacks and colors help me see better then LED"s or Plasmas. However after 1.5 years of use the LG has a terrible problem with burn in. The Set/Technology retains ghost images of static picture segments on virtually every major network. Those crawls or logos on the screen burn in and remain annoyingly visible. LG has a setting which they claim reduces burn in potential but I"ve found it useless as is their built in program they recommend you run periodically to clean up the screen "noise".
LG TV, was not used the first 4 years after purchase witing for new home. Screen flashes and remains black for the most part. Started using in Spring of 2016, and rarely ever used. So frustrating as paid over $500 at the time... but you would expect it to last more than 2 years... I have had a 60 Sony TV purchased in 2005, and it is working perfectly to this day. I am going to contact LG for replacement product, will pursue legal action if LG does not do the right thing here!!
I have 2 55inch LG 3d TV"s and both of the screens have gone black on them ..still have sound ...LG I used to brag about how much I loved your products but NEVER again will I buy anything LG!!!! Your customer service sucks and these TV"s cost way too much to just go dead within a few years....contacting the attorney general
LG65Uk63 UHD TV purchased in July 2018, ceased working three months later - sound but no picture. One year warranty has not been honored despite numerous calls to corporate and escalation "up the ladder" as indicated in so many stories here. Two repair service companies report One of the two required parts is simply not available - no estimated time of availability - not even a back-order situation. LG personnel were repeatedly dishonest on the phone, as witnessed by Target Corp. staff who sat in on one call. January 2019, we are 6 months from purchase, three months without a functioning unit and no end in sight.
I purchased an LG 49UB 8500 in April 2014. One year later I had problems with it turning on, and when it did it went from red to Green to black, red to Green to Black and that was all it would do. it was still under warranty so LG paid to have it repaired it was over $300. 8 months later it did it again and it wasn"t under warranty. I paid myself 300 some dollars do you have it repaired and now it"s doing it again and LG will do nothing about it. I would like to know what I can do about it if anything. all the comments I read from everybody there"s so many of them. It seems like the consumer should be able to do something without having to pay an attorney 10 times what the TV is worth.
My barely 2 year old LG television went black screen 3 days ago. Spend over 400 dollars on it and now it"s an expensive paper weight. Called customer support. They said it"s on me for repair. I have had televisions last 10 years or more. Seems like highway robbery to me.
Purchased the LG LB5600 42 LED TV which did not last past 3 yrs and there is no picture but has sound. Total waste of money would not recommend LG TVs to anyone.
purchased 52 inch LG TV 2011 worked for a year it’s been sitting in the dining room for the past 6 1/2 years as a decoration cost $1500 after year it started shutting off when it wanted to and would have a hard time turning it on sometimes it would come on sometimes it didn’t I want to know what’s being done about this
3 year old LG 47” LED smart tv. Black screen paid over $600 for this tv to die way too soon. Second LG product with the same issue and life span. My other tv was a 55” 3d tv and it got a black screen 6 months ago. I will never purchase another LG product.
My 60 in LG 3D, lost picture, tv was flicking, screen has gone black, called LG with no help. Tried all that was suggested. Customer service Wanted my credit card # before any real help or to help. No longer under warranty. Now no signal. Very upsetting to have a 60in 3d tv that doesn"t work and have paid so much money for it. Just very upsetting and heartbreaking for the whole family
Purchased LG TV In 2015 with warranty. Went out in 2017. Sent it in to be repaired. Present 2018 Now my screen is completely black with sound. LG IN ORDER TO DO YOUR TROUBLESHOOTING FOR NO PICTURE OR BLACK SCREEN... WE HAVE TO BE ABLE TO SEE A PICTURE ON THE SCREEN!!! I can"t believe all these complaints are the same and no resolution for anyone...
We have an LG TV model # 49LB5550, serial # 408RMNEVY751. We purchased our set in jan of 2016 from Walmart super center. In Feb of 2018 the tv set began to flash on and off. We were outside of the Warrenty to have our television replace or serviced. The television was less than 2 years old.
Our LG TV model 49UF6400 is barely two years old and the left side of the screen has a blue tint. LG service won’t grant me a one time courtesy repair. The repair will cost me nearly $600. This is unacceptable. I am willing to join in a class action lawsuit against LG.
My 65 inch LG cuts off intermittently. I went through the laborious customer service process, and elevated the case up to the executive level, with no positive results. They would not budge. This company is as corrupt as it gets. They will see how evil I am.
My OLED55B6P-U stopped working 3 weeks after the 1 year warranty expired. It seems to bee the same issue everyone else has, where the tv powers on and had audio, but no video. LG has done everything not to take responsibility.
I received a LG 50LN5100 for Christmas from my kids 1 1/2 yrs ago screen just went black. I sent a complaint in and I received a nice form letter of the strive for quality products and customer service but looking at these reviews that is not the case. They tried to give me a service call number that may cost $150-$250 or more. It seems that the led strips are crap. I am going to repair myself as who can afford to buy another tv and if I do it won"t be a LG.
I agree that LG TV"s have an awesome picture and sound. But apparently the company does not stand behind its product. I bought a beautiful 4k in November of 2016 and as of yesterday, its $900. worth of junk. I read the complaints of the same issue over and over again online. I really thought I was buying a product of quality. But apparently they are pretty much all garbage. I am so ashamed of the company I thought so highly of. Never again. And I will warn everyone I know, to stay away from LG TVs. I agree, law suit.... How many people are getting ripped off. Then they want you to buy an out of warranty, warranty. Wonder how much they ding you for that another $500. NEVER Again....
Purchased 60 inch UHD LG TV. (60LB7100) Main board failed in 2015 and now again TV has gone to sound without picture. Lighting issue as there is an image behind that seems to not be illuminated. Purchase was $1500.00 and I don"t expect a TV that costs that much to fail twice in a 4 year span of time. Would like some compensation for the repair and have now learned that this is a reoccurring issue with LG Televisions.
Bought my lg55lf6000 in December of 2015. It worked great for 2-1/2 years. One day the picture started going blank and flickering every second. Looked on line and found that it’s a common problem for this tv between 2-3 years. Called lg and they said there is nothing they can do with there faulty product since I didn’t buy an extended warranty.
I purchased an LG 65SJ9500 65-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV (2017 Model) in November and received it in early December. After 2.5 months, the picture went out but still had sound. We contacted LG, and after about 1 month of consumer “service” nightmare, finally got a contracted repair person to replace two parts. The parts replacements were unsuccessful and the TV was deemed unrepairable by the contractor. He recommended replacement to LG. Another month ha gone by and LG has sent a second contractor out. It has been 12 days since he ordered parts and we were told it would take 3. Today, the contractor called and said that the parts house informed him that I (consumer) had cancelled the order. I have have no personal knowledge of where the parts center is, nor do I care to cancel the part for my TV. LG is not upholding our consumer warranty, and have outright disrespected us. How does a consumer fight a giant corporation that will not comply with their end of a deal? At this point, we are demanding replacement but I am sure that the disrespect for our consumer rights will continue.
Purchased Nov 2015 a LG55EG9100 OLED 55 inch around $2000. Now out of my 2yr warranty Having Power issues Black screen sometimes sound sometimes wavy ghost-bands on black screen. The USB port supplying power to the digital to analog audio converter going on off clicking. The HDMI 1 port Signaling an active device ON redundantly bouncing up and down endlessly. UGH. When it wont turn on I have to unplug and re-plug into an outlet to Reboot power switch , still with the same issues. It has around 5800 hours on the set. Now it needs about a $400 repair. A power supply board or a Sub-power supply board I believe should be RECALLED for such sudden failure. LG may be called LOUSY GOODS !

Purchased this expensive 42 LG tv in 2010 from HHGregg and bought a 3 year warranty which put me over $1300. It lasted 5 years. I have an american made RCA floor model tv which I purchased in 1985 that still has a picture and turns on and off with a button which I paid 1/3 of what I paid for the LG. I will never buy this made in China trash again.
55 inch curved oled by lg bad burn in after 4or 5 months .not covered under warranty.filed bbb complaint against best buy to no avail.this is pure robbery.
Purchase 55in LG 2016 used for about 4 months put back in box and set in my closet for over a year. Plugged it back up and got a vertical line on the screen. That tells me that this is a non-operational problem. Fried board from just sitting there. I want to sue
My LG 50LN6750 picture went out today...I still have perfect volume. Call LG Corporate Office and Theresa in Huntsville, AL said because it is 3 years old and not more than 6 mo out of warranty, good luck. I own other LG appliances and will tell everyone I know that their products are defective!
My LG just started turning on and off randomly. Took the batteries out of the remote - still happening - nothing seems to stop it from happening. Very concerning.
I Purchased lg 42inch flat screen tv from amazon.com on 07/10/2014.during first year of ownership have had problem with this tv going on and off whenever, screen white flakes to black screen with grinding static sound called phone number on owner"s manual book instructed me what to do tv played for awhile i would repeat the same routine w results sometime in the past my satellite company via phone have instructef me through a process. On 10/31/2017 tv screen went total black again. On 11_04_2017 satellite tech made a housecall due to problem with my tv, black screen and not turning on tech was unable to get tv to turn on screen remains black not function
Lg lb6300qu cost $1000. Flashing screen with sound. Shop says bad LCD"s $300.00+ to fix!!! Only owned for 20 mos. Shame on Lg, I won"t buy ANY Lg product EVER AGAIN!!! I AGREE LET"S SUE! I WANT MY MONEY BACK TOO!!!
Was given an LG TV as a gift sat in box for awhile. Then tried to hook it up. worked for 6 months than started having trouble turning off and on. Now it won"t work at all. Red light turns on but i have no functions and if I push power red light turns off and TV is completely dead. I have checked capacitors and none seem to be damaged. I have done some research and I believe my main control board or the green board if you are just looking inside your TV is not working. told its between a hundred to two hundred dollars for a new board. Kind of think that thats bullshit that a 42 inch TV only lasts six months and than has a major board stop working. Will never buy an LG TV and will recommend to everyone I know never to buy one.
Got a LCD tv from best buy used it for about a year and a half. LCD screen flickers even like a strobe light. I have sound but picture just blinks. Called LG, they said I could pay for a tech to come out the cost will be at least $150 but if it"s another problem other than a power supply it would be more. The tv new was $600. I"m very upset. All these complaints about flickering blinking screens there should have been a recall...its ridiculous
Same crap here with a LG 47LN5200. Backlight just quit and NO help what so ever from LG even though my home has 8 other LG devices being used including TV"s computer monitors and phones. Well when they tried to charge my $350 to fix my 18 month old TV...I went and bought a Hisense.....done with LG from this point on.
The lg tv i bought lasted approximately 26 months. Screen flickers and seems to "roll". Big hunk of junk and no help at all from LG. Will never buy again. Seems shady to me
My 47" LG Flat Screen is doing the same thing as all of these other comments describe. Black screen, no sound and very sudden at approximately 3 years old. I thought I was buying a quality product that was going to last me for awhile. I don"t have a lot of money and can neither afford to repair or replace this TV right now. I agree, we all need to sue LG and force them to do something about these TV"S through the legal system.
I purchased an LG 55" OLED curved television about 11 months ago and it is suddenly turning on/off without any reason. As others have mentioned, I can"t check settings or do anything since the TV does not stay on for more than a handful of seconds. Is there a class action lawsuit that I can join?
Purchased a LG 50LN5400 in April 2014. Manufacture date was January 2014. The picture just went out 06-12-17. My local service technician advised me that the backlight is out. The problem is from the main power supply board that is running too hot and that a modification would have to be made to the power supply board when replacing the back lights. This information came from service notes regarding common problems with LG TV"s. Bottom line was that it was not worth the cost of repair ($525 labor and materials) compared to the price of buying a new TV. I WILL NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER LG PRODUCT.

My 2013 LG Plasma tv Model 50PN4500 has been turning on & off every 5 mts for the last 3 months. Can"t even press the volume key on remote or on tv, "cause it shuts off. We can"t watch movies on DVD player either, since it keeps shutting off every 5 mts.
Our LG LED TV screen went black but we still had sound. I called LG and they said it was outside of our warranty. It was purchased December 2013. LG said to Call a local repair company and they flat out told me this was a common issue with these TV"s and it would cost more to repair than replace.
LG 32LN5300 32 inch LED lit 1080p 60 HZ. I found your class action just by searching LG issues. Seems like there are a lot of them. My LG monitor at work went out after only 2 years.
I purchased a 50" LG tv model #50LN5400 on Oct. 20, 2013. The picture went out in April 2017. This is ridiculous. There should be a class action law suit against this company for its terrible merchandise. I will NOT buy any more LG PRODUCTS!!!
The LG 50LN5100 led TV that I purchased in August of 2014 went black however the voice was still working. I contacted LG and they were no help. They only provided the names of two local repair shops. The repair shop advised me to just replace the TV and accept my loss.
My (14 MONTH OLD) 60" lg TV"s screen went black/ blank. I did NOT buy an extended warranty: LG refered me to local TV Repair shop who actually advised me to buy a new one ("THEY"RE CHEAP!"). LET"S SUE THE BAST@RDS!
Bought a 47 inch LG in April 2014, then in February 2017 the picture went black and never came back on. When you turn tvt on, the LG logo flashes and the picture goes black in 1 second. Have sound but no pictures LG want to charge $328 to fix .
Purchased a 60" LG back in 2013/2014 now I have a 3 year old LG (Model # 60LN5600-UB) that started flashing a black screen. I just found out about a possible class action against LG. I feel that this is too short of a time for a TV to be having these kinds of problems.
I purchased an LG 50 inch smart TV in 2013. Early 2016 it decided to stop working. Powers on, then flashes off. No sound no picture. I found out that it was a defective Panel. I purchased an LG out of warranty plan only to find out that The plan would not fully cover the cost of repair.. LG requested additional $400. I immediately canceled the warranty and I will not purchase another LG product. It is sad that something so costly would stop working so soon. I have an older Emerson flatscreen purchased in 2007 that without fail has continued to live up to its potential of being a good quality product.
Purchased LG tv in September 2013. Model 47LN5400. July 18 2016,video disappeared. Screen went black, sound was still good. I expected this TV to last longer than it did. From reviews I have read, this is an ongoing problem. A reputable company such as LG. should. recall this tv since reviews show a lot of tv"s are having the same issues.
On May 23rd I turned on my 2 year 1 month old 50" LG model 50LN5700 TV. The screen flashed LG then went black but still had sound. Like so many others I"m frustrated and angry at LG because the same problem I have is the same as many others; LG has to be aware of it and is doing nothing. I will never buy another LG product.
Around 28 month old LG 47LN5750 tv went black but you can almost make out shapes and clearly here the sound on it. Changed out the HDMI cord and still same issue. Changed input ports still same issue. After reading online it appears LG is only in the business of screwing over the consumer. Sad that there is no class action lawsuit against them. I have a Vizio for almost 7 years now and not a single issue. Guess I will never buy and LG TV and to bad they don"t have any integrity to stand behind their product.
Ours is an LG 60" Plasma Svc Code 60PN5300 which turns itself off every 20 to 30 minutes. Only about a year and a half old. LG.Com states this model is now discontinued. Warranty over just soon after it was paid for. What a rip off. There needs to be some type of class action suit for these models or some type of replacement compensation. I guess the BBB is the best way to go right now although not sure how much good that will do.
Our LG 55 inch screen went black and only has sound. Seems this is an issue that several models of LG TVS are experiencing. Out of warranty since almost 3 years old. I expected at least 5 years out of a TV that costs $900.00.
Had. 32 inch led tv went bad after 3 months of use. ( tv was 13 months old) tv was not used very much. TV Starts turning itself off. Found out that this is a known defect. Tv was one month it of warrantee, LG customer service no good no help! They could careless. Anyone who buys an LG product is crazy! I will never buy another LG product! They are crap.
My 47LN5200 LG TV is less than 2 years old. We noticed a flickering in the bottom center of the screen a few weeks ago. The screen would become bright then dim in just one area. Today the screen went black. The sound works but no video. I"ve looked online and this seems to be a common problem. Is there anyway to get it replaced or be compensated?
My LG 47LN5700 failed after 18 months. One of the backlight LED"s burnned up resulting in a black screen, but it still had sound. LG was no help at all. These TV"s are defective and I want my money back.
My 20 month old LG 47LN5200 lost picture, completely. No help from LG...they said it was past warranty. It was well taken care of and should have lasted more than 20 months.
