Without question, touch screen box mods imparted a massive paradigm-shift in the vaporizer industry. No longer were vape devices confined to merely performance-based functionalities. Instead, the advent of touch screen box mods proved that art and science can effortlessly and seamlessly coalesce to create a compelling end-user experience.
Additionally, touch screen box mods almost always feature next-generation chipsets. Necessarily, that translates to a portfolio of temperature-control options. Moreover, beginner vapers can find great use with touch screen box mods both for their intuitiveness and their array of safety features and functions.
The Wax G Vape Single Coils are made of nickel alloy coils wrapped around ceramic rods and comes with a stainless steel screen. The nickel alloy coils and ceramic rods will not only heat faster, but retain heat for much longer than a regular quartz coil to provide pure taste through a vaporizer.

The Geekvape Legend 2 is the follow up to one of Ecigclick’s favourite mods (The Legend) and is capable of upto 200W output. Powered by dual 18650 batteries (sold separately) the Legend also sports IP68 waterproof/shockproof and dust proof design for the clumsy vaper out there. It basically means this device should last you a long time.
The Drag E60 is features a big integrated battery (2550mAh) which allows good vape time even at the higher wattages. Despite the impressive battery the mod is still portable and compact.
It offers a mouth to lung vape and a good sub ohm coil for direct to lung vaping. The mod automatically detects what coil you have installed and delivers the power accordingly, no variable wattage settings to mess about with here.
Both are excellent, it really comes down to your preference on battery. The MT we are focusing on here is the integrated battery version. Featuring a 3000mAh battery, the MT can fire from 5-100W. It also has the option of various modes such as Turbo, Smart, RBA and Temp Control. So plenty to keep the more advanced vaper happy.
On top of the kit version VOOPOO have included the new MAAT Tank. This delivers great flavour and cloud for the direct to lung sub ohm vapers out there.
Back to the Target 100! What do we like about this vape mod? First we like the compact form factor and the design. The rubber micro braiding grip not only adds to the aesthetics but also makes it comfortable in the hand. Add the well sized screen and we have a very good looking mod.
Second is the performance. The Target 100 can take 18650 or 21700 batteries and power up-to 100W. The 21700 in particular adds that little extra in terms of battery life. With the range of functions available for selection from the easy to navigate menu you will easily find the right setting to get the most from your vape.
It’s not all about looks though – as my mother used to tell me – the DNA75 has all the functions you would expect and is powered by a removable 18650 battery. Add to that the quality of the build and we have a little star of a vape mod.
It supports variable wattage/voltage as well as bypass mode and can fire upto 60W. Fairly basic when compared to other mod functions but if, like most, you just want to vape in wattage mode then you’re good to go.
Vape mods come in all shapes and sizes. They come with integrated batteries as well as replaceable batteries. The latter of which will require some research in to battery safety.
Just because you’ve seen a MOD with a 200W or even 300W power output doesn’t mean this is the best box mod or more importantly the best vape MOD for you.
Do you use normal mouth to lung vape tanks where the coils are 1.0Ohm plus? Tanks such as (or similar to) the Aspire Nautilus 2s or Innokin Endura T18/T20?
If so you will need a vape mod capable of handling coil resistances lower than 1.0 ohm. Most of the popular sub ohm tanks use coils around 0.15-0.5 ohms.
Double check the coil resistance of your tank before buying a vape mod to be sure they are compatible. This info will be displayed clearly on the product listing.
70% of my use is with sub ohm tanks around the 40-65W mark depending on the tank I’m using. This is perfect for me and will likely be where a high percentage of sub ohm vapers will sit.
TIP: If a coil requires 80W output then you will want to buy a vape mod that is capable of firing 100W+. Try not to use the mod at full wattage output. This will generally result in poor battery life.
Although if you are at this level then you likely know this already. It all depends on what resistance you are building at. So make sure the mod you buy is capable of handling any low resistance build you may vape.
Most vape mods that require replaceable batteries, if not all, require you to buy batteries separately and if you don’t have a suitable charger then you will also need one of these.
The XLIM has pretty much everything you need from a pod system whether you are a new vape or are a more experienced vaper looking for a pocket friendly device.
I personally use one of these as my go to ‘out and about’ vapes and, in fact, find myself using it more and more on a daily basis. Our reviewer Shell also thought highly of the Xlim saying the 0.8ohm pods had immense flavour. She’s a hard one to please as well!
As a vaping experience it’s simple. Just take a cartridge out of the packaging, fill with e-liquid (if they aren’t pre-filled) and drop it into the battery. Then simply inhale and you’re vaping. No buttons to press making it one of the best draw activated pod vape.
They are focused on offering the new vaper an easy way to switch from smoking. They do this by first giving you the most simple product in terms of use and second, by offering tobacco/menthol flavours that are close enough to the real thing that you have a better chance of sticking with vaping.
If you want a simple pod mod kit with good flavour, no leaking (on our testing), good flavours that replicate tobacco well (other flavours available) and is super simple to use even for the first time vaper then this is one to look at.
The auto draw function means those that find pressing a button to vape too taxing will be kept happy. There is also an adjustable airflow on the side that enables you to tinker just a touch with the ‘tightness’ of vape.
One of the latest, the SMOK Nord 5, has gone down the bells and whistles route and offers an impressive 80W output. This is the Nord for vapers that want more control of their vape as well as having that higher wattage power to work with.
It has all the usual attributes to make it on to the best pod vape system list such as top build quality, good battery life, great hand feel, all that stuff.
We also have good airflow options and of course wide wattage ranges so you really should be able to tailor a vape that is perfect for you. If you are a direct to lung vaper then the coils included in the kit will fit the bill.
It’s perfect for new vapers that want a device that is simple to use, you can literally pick up this pod and be vaping within minutes or seconds really if you don’t count taking it out of the box.
This is great for new vapers as it gives you the option of being a little more adventurous with your e-liquid favours as your vape experience grows. These can be added at a later date.
One of the main selling points of pod system vapes is that they are easy for new vapers to use. The Drag Nano 2 is as easy as they come to use and with the added build quality should last a while too.
The battery life is also impressive with the 1800mAh battery allowing for a good days use depending on your vape habits. The USB-C charging also provides a quick charge.
What we really love about them is that they are perfect devices not only for new vapers but also for more the more experienced, making a perfect back up/secondary vape.
Perfect for new vapers making the switch from smoking. If you are coming off the smokes then we recommend pairing your pod device with nicotine salt e-liquid, this will give you a more effective nicotine hit to help keep you off the cigarettes.
I absolutely love the Jacvapour VIM pods for ease of use as well as giving you a refillable pod option. The Lot Vape Orion Go DNA pod, if your budget can stretch that bit further, is a high quality vape.
For those that like the JUUL style but not the flavours then the Apollo Brez is one to pay attention to. In fact, the flavours are some of the best for a closed pod vape system.
A pod mod vape is made up of two main components. The pod, which contains e-liquid and a rechargeable battery (mod). Pods can be refillable or come pre-filled.
This life of a pod will differ and is dependent on the type of e-liquid and of course your vaping habits. If you are a heavy vaper you may get 2-6 days. A moderate user may get upto 2 weeks before flavour starts to deteriorate. Once that happens it’s time to either change the coil (if the pod you use allows) or replace the entire pod.
Your pod may taste burnt for many reasons. First, if there isn’t enough e-liquid left in the pod the coil will become dry. If you didn’t wait long enough for your vape juice to soak into the cotton. Ideally, after filling for the first time you should wait 10 minutes before vaping. You can see other reasons for your vape tasting burnt here.
Yes, pod vapes have coils like any regular vape tank. Depending on what device you choose the coil will either be built into the pod (when the coil is finished you swap for a new pod) or replaceable (when the coil is finished you swap only the coil).
You can use regular vape juice and nicotine salt e-liquid. If you are looking to switch from smoking we recommend using nic salts as they are more efficient with nicotine delivery.
Simply fill the pod with vape juice (if it’s not pre-filled), push the pod onto the battery, wait 10 minutes for the e-liquid to soak into the coils then vape. Simple.

If your vape mod isn’t working properly, you’re in the right place. This page is your ultimate guide to fixing any problem with any vaping device. Modern vape mods are incredibly reliable. Most of the time, you can expect your device to be entirely dependable, even if you use it constantly every day. Eventually, though, you’re bound to encounter some problem. Maybe you’re new to vaping and aren’t sure what to do when your vape tastes burnt. Maybe you’ve noticed some strange behavior when connecting your device to its charger. Perhaps it seems like your vape mod isn’t working at all. Whatever the problem might be, you’ll find some actionable tips for fixing it right here.
If you’re an experienced vaper, you can probably skip this section of our troubleshooting guide. If you’re new to vaping, though, you should know that every vaping device with a fire button has a built-in locking function to prevent the device from firing when you don’t want it to – for instance, while you’re carrying the device in your pocket. If you’re trying to use your vape mod and it doesn’t seem to respond at all, it’s possible that the locking function is engaged. With almost every vape mod, you can disengage the lock by pressing the fire button five times.
If your vape mod doesn’t do anything when you attempt to unlock it, the next thing that you should do is try charging the device. It’s possible that the battery is completely dead, and in that case, the device may not even have sufficient remaining battery life to display an error message. If that’s the case, charging the device should resolve that issue.
Let’s suppose that your vape mod doesn’t respond at all when you try to use it. You’ve tried connecting the device to a power source, and it doesn’t seem to be charging normally. How can you find the cause of the problem?
If your vape mod isn’t charging, the first thing that you should do is troubleshoot the power source. Remember that you should never charge a vaping device by connecting it to the wall adapter for a mobile device. A modern mobile phone or tablet has a high-end battery that can handle a “quick charge” current without overheating. A typical vaping device, on the other hand, requires a 5-volt, 1-amp charging current. If you’ve been charging your vape mod with a mobile device charger – and the device has suddenly stopped responding – it’s entirely possible that the higher charging current has killed the battery.
There are some other ways to tell if the battery in your vape mod is on the way out. When you use the device, does the battery seem to die extremely quickly – and when you charge the device, does the battery seem to charge much more quickly than it once did? Those signs indicate that the capacity of the battery is permanently reduced. If the device’s battery status doesn’t seem to change at all after hours of charging, that’s a sign that the battery is no longer capable of reaching its target voltage. In either of those cases, you’ll need to replace the battery or the mod.
In the next section of this guide, we’ll explain what you can do to troubleshoot a vape mod that charges and turns on but doesn’t vape. In this situation, you can often learn the nature of the problem simply by looking at your vaping device. If the device has a screen, you may see an error message like “Short Circuit” or “Check Atomizer.” The message will give you an idea of where to begin in troubleshooting the problem. If you have a device without a screen, your vape mod’s light may blink when you try to vape. The number of blinks will signify the device’s fault condition. Count the blinks and consult the device’s instruction manual to find out what’s wrong.
If your vape mod turns on but doesn’t vape, it’s most likely because the mod isn’t making a good electrical connection with the atomizer coil or because the coil itself has a problem. In the event of an incomplete or short circuit, your vape mod should always refuse to fire.
Start by removing the tank from your vape mod and making sure that there isn’t a pool of e-liquid under it. If the tank has leaked, it can cause a wide variety of different problems. Clean the e-liquid with something absorbent such as a cotton swab or paper towel. After drying your device, reconnect the tank. Can you vape? If not, remove the tank again.
If your vape mod is completely dry and still isn’t working, the source of the problem – if the mod itself hasn’t suffered some electronic failure – must be the atomizer coil. With some vape tanks, it’s necessary to screw the atomizer coil in extremely tightly, or it won’t make a good connection with the plate at the base of the tank. Screw the coil in very tightly and reassemble the tank. If your vape mod still isn’t working, replace the atomizer coil. If replacing the coil doesn’t resolve the issue, try using a different tank if you have one. If your mod still isn’t working, it’s possible that the mod itself has a problem.
The final common problem that affects the experience of using a vape mod is an unpleasant burned flavor that manifests itself when you vape. Vaping is supposed to taste good. If it doesn’t, that’s obviously a major problem – and you can find the source of that problem by thinking about how long you’ve been using the atomizer coil that’s currently in your tank. Did you just replace the coil, or have you been using it for a day or two?
If you’ve been using the coil for a day or two, you’ll probably need to replace the coil in that case as well – but it’s important to understand the distinction because a coil that begins to taste burned after a day or two of use is a problem that you can mitigate by using a different e-liquid. When you use heavily sweetened e-liquid, the sucralose in the vape juice creates a coating on your atomizer coil. The coating becomes very thick and eventually starts to burn. There’s no way to prevent sucralose from ruining your atomizer coil, but it is possible to make your coils last much longer by using unsweetened e-liquid.
