I contacted authorised service centre and they told me, that its only possible to change the whole screen with LCD, not just digitizer (because of adhesive between). Of course, its quite expensive... How do you fix that which is broken? Specifically, how do you access your smartphone—to wipe all of your important data off of it, presumably before shipping it off for repair—when you’ve destroyed the screen?

I apologize for giving away the topic of this week’s Frank is in the spotlight this week:“I have my [Samsung] J7 Pro. How can I wipe or delete all the data on it? The screen and LCD are totally cracked, but it powers on and lights up.”

I’m not quite sure what your broken smartphone actually does, based on your phrasing. If it’s cracked, but it powers up and you can get a reasonable sense of what you’re tapping—if the device even registers your finger-pressing—you can just factory reset it the normal way. Tap on the Settings app; then either “General Management,” “Backup and reset,” or “Privacy,” depending on what it’s called on your Galaxy J7 Pro; and then “Factory Data Reset” to get the process going.

If neither of these solutions work because your screen is too damaged—I dropped my iPhone 4 in a pool once, so I feel your pain—you have two other options.

Once you toggle the factory reset, you’ll need to power on your smartphone in order for it to trigger. And once the factory reset finishes, you shouldn’t be able to locate your smartphone on either Find My Device or Find My Mobile, since it will no longer be associated with your account. (It’s back to its default settings, after all.) That’s a great way to check and make sure the reset worked, in case you can’t see anything on your shattered screen.

However, if the digitizer or LCD is also damaged during a fall, that screen no longer carries value because it cannot be refurbished. Repair shops cannot sell broken LCDs to refurbishing companies; therefore, they cannot offset the cost of an LCD repair. That is why repair stores often charge a little extra if there is damage to the LCD or digitizer, to make up for that loss. Repair stores that don’t have an additional charge for an LCD repair typically inflate their glass repair price to make up for the loss from damaged LCDs. If they have one price, that means everyone is paying more to cover the cost of customers who have damaged LCDs and customers who only have cracked glass. This is why TCR separates the price of glass and LCD repairs for you! If you only have cracked glass, you only have to worry about paying to replace the cracked glass.

If your phone or tablet’s glass is shattered there will be cracks or chips on the screen itself. If it is just the glass that is damaged, the device may still function and you may be able to use it normally. If this is the case, it is likely that only the glass needs to be replaced. To prevent further damage to your device it is best to get it repaired quickly. For example, if liquids seep through the cracks it could cause permanent damage to the LCD.

Many people may continue to use their touchscreen with shattered glass and delay fixing the glass on their devices; however, if the touchscreen isn’t responsive, it could be a sign of more significant damage to the device’s digitizer which is integrated with the LCD screen.

A pixelated screen can indicate LCD damage. This would look like a patch of multicolored dots, a line or lines of discoloration, or a screen with rainbow colors. For many people, these colors are an easy way to know that their LCD is broken and that they should get it repaired.

Dropping your phone isn’t the only reason you’ll end up with a pixelated screen. Over time, your screen’s LCD may break down through regular use. This happens to other devices aside from your smartphone or tablet. Pixelation can happen to TVs and computers, too. People typically decide to buy a new device when this happens. Fortunately, with an LCD repair, you can fix the device without needing to replace it.

A black screen or black spots on your smartphone or tablet is an indication of a damaged LCD. Often with a bad LCD, a phone may still turn on and make noises, but there is no clear picture. This does not necessarily mean any other part of the phone is damaged and a simple screen replacement will get it functioning again. Sometimes it can mean a battery or other internal component is damaged. It is best to have a highly qualified phone repair technician diagnose what is wrong so the appropriate repair can be made.

Fortunately, your mobile device is fixable whether you cracked the glass or damaged the LCD. Stop by or call TCR: Triangle Cellular Repair at (919) 263-2699 for a free diagnostic and quick, affordable cell phone repair in Chapel Hill and surrounding areas. We’re always happy to help!

In recent times smart car stereos with flat touch screens are quite common. These smart screens have made car music scenarios even better with their smart control and one-touch setup. Now, you can use your fingers to change a song or even a radio play station instead of turning multiple knobs.

But, with such advanced technology comes a few problems. One of the main problems you can face is the unresponsive touch screen of your car stereo. You may touch and swipe the screen multiple times, but nothing works. It can be frustrating as well.

One of the main issues with a touch screen car stereo is the unresponsive screen. Sometimes, when you touch the screen and swipe for commands, the screen does not respond. It remains fixed with the same screen, and nothing happens no matter how much you try.

The car stereo touch screen is connected to the car’s battery with wires. The wires are dainty and can get loose or damaged. With such damaged wires, the screen becomes unresponsive as the electricity is not properly supplied to the touch screen.

As already said, the touch screen is quite fragile and may get damaged sometimes. A cracked touch screen is one of the main reasons that lead to an unresponsive car stereo screen. Check out for visible damages. If the screen has cracks or visible damage, you probably need to repair it.

Sometimes, even minute scratches can lead to a faulty touch screen for your car stereo. It may happen if anything sharp is used to operate the touch. Hence, always try to refrain from using anything sharp on the screen.

Sometimes, water or liquid damage also makes the car stereo screen unresponsive. If you or someone inside the car accidentally spilled some water or a drink on the car screen and forgot to wipe the screen properly, the liquid may go inside and damage the touch screen.

The car stereo screen does not have any visible damage or faulty wires. In this case, probably the software is the issue behind the unresponsiveness. If you recently have updated the latest software on the smart touch screen, or even installed new software, the screen may take some time to adjust to the new software. Similarly, if the software is incompatible with the touch screen, it will become unresponsive.

One of the easiest ways to fix an unresponsive car stereo screen is to reboot the system. After rebooting, the car stereo starts afresh, and the screen problem is fixed. First, unplug the power cord from the car stereo and cut down the power supply. Now, wait for a few minutes. Then plug the power cord back into your car stereo to resume the stereo service. Now, turn the stereo on and check if the screen works properly. If not, try the next hack.

A dirty touch screen may not work due to the accumulated dirt and dust particles. So, cleaning the car stereo screen is always better to check if it works after the cleanup.

Take a soft microfiber cloth and spray a digital screen cleaner on the car stereo screen. Using the cloth, clean the screen gently and cover each possible spot. Take special care of the corners and gently clean those corners as well. Finish with a soft and dry microfiber cloth and wipe the screen clean.

If nothing works, it is better to go for a factory reset. It will turn your stereo system to its original factory condition, and you can start afresh as all the previous customizations and data will be deleted. It can also resolve the unresponsive screen issue sometimes. Here is how to do this-

You found that the car stereo has a damaged or cracked touch screen which does not work. If you get it replaced by a mechanic, you need to save a lot of money. The setup is not complicated; you can easily replace the cracked screen with a toolbox and the same guidance. Here’s how you can replace the cracked glass-

First, use a screwdriver to remove the whole car stereo component from the car dashboard. You need a special magnetic screwdriver that can pull up the smaller screws. Unscrew each one carefully and store them in a box, as you will need it later. Now, carefully remove the stereo component without damaging the wires.

After you have removed it, start disassembling it. Carefully start removing the faceplate first. Next, go to the upper portion of the screen panel and detach all the wires connected to the faceplate. You can continue using the magnetic Phillips screwdriver to remove the dainty screws.

Now, move towards the screen panel’s main or central wires. The wires are usually located at the back of the screen. If you find the wires smaller and fragile, you can use needle-nose pliers to remove them. Store everything monthly and carefully. You can also note the wires’ designated places to mark their attached points for future use.

Now you have removed the faceplate and wires. It is time to disconnect the touch screen from the car stereo. You will find that the car stereo screen can be removed from the component from the bottom of the screen panel. Make sure to do this gently without damaging the touch screen anymore. You may even use the needle-nose pliers to disconnect the screen gently.

After you have disconnected the touch screen, remove it gently without damaging the LCD screen. If the LCD screen gets damaged, you must replace the whole stereo component. Hence, be extra careful here.

You have removed the broken touch screen. It is time to clean the original LCD display of the car stereo. Take a few drops of distilled water on a soft microfiber screen and gently wipe the LCD screen clean. Now, use a dry microfiber cloth and dry the LCD screen gently. Wait for a few minutes to get it completely dry.

Now, take the replacement touch screen and re-done the wires again. Carefully reattach all the wires in the right places. Be extra careful and attach each wire properly so that these do not get loose. Loose wires often lead to other problems as well.

Attach a screen protector to the touch screen to prevent unnecessary damage and dirt accumulation. These screen protectors are available in electronics stores or online stores.

Now, first, attach the wires to the faceplate. Next, attach the faceplate to the car stereo component. Finally, carefully reattach it to the car dashboard with the screws again.

Different issues may lead to an unresponsive car stereo touch screen. This article can help you to identify the cause and take the necessary steps to fix the issue. If you’re not sure, you can always visit your nearest car servicing or automobile shop to get the thing done.

You could almost see it happening in slow motion: your smartphone is in your hand one moment, and the next thing you know, it’s barreling toward the ground in a nosedive. Sometimes the layers of glass and plastic will hold up, but all too often, this scenario will lead to a chipped, cracked, or broken phone screen.

Thanks to the right-to-repair movement, the options for mending a broken phone screen have expanded. Between simple DIY fixes, third-party repair shops, and even manufacturer-sponsored mail-in programs, there’s an option for everyone.

It all boils down to a difficult-to-reach compromise between consumer desires and engineering reality. In other words, we want phones with maxed out displays that also feature an elegant design. However, those slim edges and nearly bezel-less screens have to make some concessions in the durability department.

But regardless of the design specifics, it’s really about elastic energy, according to Red Zombie, a Clearfield, Utah-based repairs and accessories shop.

“When you drop your phone, elastic energy stored in the phone’s glass is converted into surface energy, which is why your glass cracks,” the company notes in a September 2018 blog post. “[W]hen you drop your phone, the force of impact will overcome the surface compression, resulting in small stresses that could lead to the shattering of your screen.”

To combat this reality, manufacturers like Apple and Samsung are constantly experimenting with tougher kinds of glass to absorb the impact. Red Zombie says most companies mix zinc into aluminum to create a strong base for the body of the phone.

Broken screens come in various levels of severity—from light scratches, to spiderweb-like patterns, to entirely missing chunks of glass—and you could be dealing with anything from a completely shattered display and a broken phone, to a simple cosmetic issue.

First, you should assess the damage, which means getting your phone on a solid surface and under a good light, not just giving it a quick once-over before stuffing it back in your pocket. With a little bit of stress testing and careful prodding you should be able to work out whether the screen is about to fall off or fail completely. In a lot of cases it will stay in place, cracks and all, so you can at least keep tweeting, as long as the screen is still visible and functioning.

If the phone is seriously damaged, back up your data as quickly as you can, making sure all of your photos, videos, and important files are saved somewhere else just in case it dies completely and you can’t get the phone working again. If it’s already stopped functioning, then a professional repair is probably your best bet.

The name of the game here is, “hold out until I’m eligible for an upgrade.” If you want to keep using the cracked phone, and don’t want to risk losing glass or slicing up your fingers, cover the screen with a layer of packing tape. Line everything up carefully and trim it with an X-Acto knife, and it may look almostlike a real screen protector.

This is the gussied-up version of the packing tape solution. Using a screen protector ensures you have no seams and a clean line around the edges of the screen. Granted, that might not be much of a concern when there’s a spiderweb of cracks underneath.

It’s possible to replace a broken phone screen on your own. We’ll refer you to iFixit for their excellent, step-by-step guide with photos. A few key things to keep in mind here: Before you decide to go this route, look into the cost of a replacement screen. Today’s phone screens, which incorporate touch interaction and possibly biometric sensors, don’t come cheap.

You should also look into the warranty situation. If you’re the kind of person who is willing to fix a phone yourself, you’re probably not too worried about maintaining your warranty—but it still can’t hurt to know if you’re going to void it.

Finally, unless you’re already accomplished at repairing modern solid-state electronics, you probably lack the specialized tools you’ll need for the job. Luckily, iFixit sells a handy kit that includes pretty much everything you’ll need, with the possible exception of the iOpener, a tube you heat up and apply to the phone to soften its adhesives.

You can always just take your broken phone screen to a professional repair shop. If you’re an iPhone person, look for your local Apple Store here or consider trying out Apple’s mail-in repair program. Best Buy will work on iPhones and Samsung phones. And finally, UBreakIFix has more than 700 locations across the country.

Under your Pixel 5 phone’s screen, at the top center, you can see a white dot. This white dot is your proximity sensor. When your proximity sensor is on, the dot shows through the display. The dot can blink or stay solid.

Your proximity sensor keeps your phone’s screen off while you hold your phone near your face during a call, when your screen is locked, and when used by certain apps. Keeping the screen off helps save battery and avoid accidental taps on the screen.

All Pixel phones have proximity sensors. Because the Pixel 5’s display goes almost to the edge, you can see the Pixel 5’s sensor under the screen. Check our Pixel 5 phone diagram.

You possibly can relate with how much you take good care of your touch screen when your mobile device is either used, charged, placed in a handful bag, or kept in a pocket. It"s always applied with great care. This is solely because your touch screen is an essential component of your mobile device, and you can not afford to cope with the middle part of touch screen not working.

Aside from its huge cost of repair, it disconnects you from accessing your device features. In some instances, it may be partially affected or stop working completely by not responding to any of your taps. I can feel how furious and frustrated you can be. Relax, you are not alone.

You might be thinking it can never happen with the extra care attached to it. But it might be otherwise. Can you remember the countless times you tap your touch screen when responding to social media messages? Or when you listen to pop music and another genre when you"re in the restroom?

The middle part of a touch screen is the most-used section of your device"s touch screen. Although, other touch screen parts are also necessary for navigating you through several other functions on your device, yet, you may not necessarily need to fix it immediately. However, you must have a clue on how to fix the middle part of your touch screen.

The crucial task and aspect you need to work on when your middle touch is not working are to inspect if there"s no pointed crack or area on the touch screen. The touch screen is a delicate part that can be affected by a mere simple metal piering or metal attachment. Unknowingly, the damaged middle part may look like a speck of mere dust to you or sometimes colored at a definite spot.

An insight I"ll give you is to check the sides and angles of the middle part for any cracks or breaks. A magnifying glass can help too if you can"t see well. Moreover, it"s also essential you use bright lights in a dim place to detect scratches. If there"s a slight botch on the screen, you may have to consult a repairer.

Another reason why you may experience a faulty middle touch screen is through a water accident. You sometimes spend most of your time with your smartphones at home. Perhaps, when you"re engaged in the kitchen, and when having your bath in the bathroom. Even, you can unknowingly dive into a pool with a phone in your pocket.

Smartphone developers have quite been creating varieties of devices with a water resistor. Yet, for your device that has no water resistor, you need to apply extra care and know-how to detect if your middle touch screen is affected by a water accident.

Most Android"s water damage indicators can be found at the back of the battery. In instances where your phone has a removable battery, you can remove the battery and dry it with a clean cloth or other apparels. But, most of the new Android phones you buy possess an inbuilt battery.

For your device with an inbuilt battery, check for a possible color change at the Sim slot. If there"s any, you can clean it with a cloth and leave it to dry at a minimum of two days. Ensure the device is not switched on during this course to avoid a connection breach at the battery point.

Do you know your corrupt SD Card can hinder certain parts like the middle touch screen or the entire touch screen of your device from working? Yes, it can. Even though your SD card is an alternative to your internal storage device that allows you to manually store files, images, videos on it. The middle part of your touch screen which might be the most touched part of your device can seize to work when your SD Cards freezes and can lag your operations when it"s corrupted.

It"s easy to unmount your SD card without having to touch the middle part of your touch screen when you want to power off the device. Activate the airplane mode at the top bar and remove the SD card successfully.

Your smartphone can neither be used nor operated without using external attachments like the screen protector, earpiece, and a USB charger from a third-party source. These attachments are not all recommended for your Smartphone. Your middle touch screen can stop working if you use an unsuitable external attachment with the device.

Malicious Android apps are now on a rampage. Some Android apps can serve as a problem for your device if not properly scrutinized before installed. Screen bugs and glitches on the middle part of your touch screen can arise from an unsafe installed app.

A safer means to avert and cross-check malicious apps is to enable the Google Play Protect option on the Google Play Store of your device. The Google Play Protect can scan multiple apps installed on your device in a day with a waiver on other apps not downloaded from the Play Store.

Restarting your device enables your device to start afresh without giving in to the urge of removing your battery or power on/off your device instantly for an inbuilt battery. You should restart your device after uninstalling recent malicious apps if the situation lingers on.

For most Android devices, the restart icon is located in the middle of the screen. However, you can perform this by using the power and volume button. This restarts every app that freezes a section of your touch screen.

The safe mode option is another way to clear your middle touch screen off the hooks of not working. This can also be done by the method you used in restarting your device. You can switch your device to safe mode with these simple steps.

The optimum solution you can offer solely as an Android user without external interference is to Factory Reset your device if the situation persists. The Factory Reset enables your device to swerve back to its default state.

Most times, the middle part of touch screen not working is caused by due to hardware damages, which can only be rectified by a trained technician. In that case, we recommend you visit the offial service provider for your brand for assistance.
