A gigantic 90-degree curved LED digital signage installation, set above a retail space in Chengdu, China, is showing a 3D-effect video which appears to show a Star Trek-like spaceship emerging from the screen to the space in front of it.

Best viewed from an angle, the glasses-free ‘3D’ video wall has been a top-five trending topic on Sina Weibo, a Chinese social media network that is similar to Twitter, during a Chinese national holiday.

The curved, L-shaped PH8mm LED video wall in the Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li shopping district is more than 900 sqm in size and made with LianTronic FS8 Outdoor Fixed LED. The screen is 63.68m in length (there is a 47.2m north-facing screen, plus a 2.048m curved corner, and a 14.432m east-facing screen) and 14.336m in height.

Online video of the Chengdu installation has been appearing on Western social media during the last week, with China digital marketing expert Ashley Dudarenok enthusiastically captioning

Writing to AV Magazine, the LianTronics team confirmed: “This is a giant curved video wall from LianTronics! Before our official promotion of this Chengdu 3D wall, we celebrated China’s National Holiday, an eight-day holiday nationwide, and our wall has been top five trending online. We’re so proud that it has been loved by so many people even beyond China.”

@dondan just ordered using the aliexpress link above, many thanks for that! I also read that you"re using the ek basic in your build. I"m on vengeance lpx ram and I prefer going for a simple black look so this looks like it"ll fit me nicely - how do you find the pump for noise? And would you replace the fans that come with it for noctuas? Did you find the EK a bit of a tight fit with the cable length or was it no hassle?

The alternative is a an nzxt x53 which I can get about 20 dollars cheaper but i"m also wary of the slight whine I got from the asetek pump in my dan a4 / 645lt build. It seems like a lot of people get some kinda noise from the x53 which i"d rather avoid. The be quiet looks like a good fit too and apparently has no pump noise if I can find one?

Also to anyone using the above link, aliexpress have some coupons using the honey add on for chrome, I got 10 dollars US off with the code TE10. If it doesn"t work there are a few others that"ll at least get you a little bit off your shipping costs!
