yellowish lcd screen in stock

My old iPhone screen got cracked, so I decided to get a cheap eBay replacement (or 2). The first one worked fine (apart from obvious display quality issues) but when the screen closed it seemed like the metal block on the back of the screen right below the camera was interfering with the display connector shield. This is proven when I remove the shield and close the phone, as the pressure marks are gone. So I got a different screen from another eBay supplier, again touted as OEM but obviously not, and it has the same issue. My question is if there is a way to shift the metal block so that it doesn’t interfere with the display shield and I don’t have to leave the display shield out, or if there is a supplier somewhere that actually ships genuine OEM 6s screens. Today, I got my XS phone back from iStyle, because it had a very noticable yellowish tint, and they replaced the screen with a new one in four days. Problem is, it looks totally the same like the previous one, still very different from all the XS in the stores. I went to 3 stores to check their iPhone XS screens, and they"re all better, "whiter" than mine. I can"t stand it, and I don"t know what to do. in the store they said they cannot change the screen again. Could it be some kind of sensor, or hardware problem? Because it is EXACTLY the same like before. I would really like if they replaced the whole phone to a new one, because the screen replacement did not work... What to do in this case?

Some iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus screens appear very yellow, or at least seem to display a much warmer color spectrum than what many people were used to on a prior iPhone display. If your new iPhone has a yellow screen or a warmer display, we’ll show you how you can color correct the iPhone display quickly and do away with any yellow screen tint.

Before proceeding, realize that on some occasions, select prior iPhone and iPad devices have had a yellow tint to the screen that seemingly resolves itself over a several day period. Supposedly this is because an adhesive on the display is not yet entirely dried, which can cast a slight yellow color hue onto the display. If this is the issue, it should resolve itself just by doing nothing other than waiting a couple of days for that glue to dry. Consider this before adjusting the iPhone display color hue as we’ll cover next.

Adjusting the color tint intensity and hue should let you quickly get to a display that does not have a yellow tint or warmer hue. You can also easily overdo it and get a very blue cooler screen, or an ultra warm screen, but adjust away according to your own visual preference.

You can see a few different examples of the yellow screen side by side before color correction, the regular color iPhone 6S Plus is on the left and yellow tint iPhone 7 Plus is on the right. These pictures were taken with an iPhone 6 Plus so they’re not going to be the most amazing photos in the world, but they do demonstrate the notable difference in screen warmth:

Do note that if the earlier mentioned adhesive screen glue drying thing is legitimate (and not just a longstanding rumor that seems to recirculate with every iPhone and iPad launch), then your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus display is probably going to look oddly cooler in a few days, so you’ll probably want to return back to the Color Tint settings and either turn the feature off, or re-adjust it as needed.

The ability to adjust color tint on the iPhone (or iPad) screen is a new feature to iOS 10 and it’s really quite nice, sort of similar to how calibrating a screen on the Mac works in Expert Mode with precise color adjustments. Since adjusting the screen tint to be slightly more cool seems to do away with this yellow display tint, it makes you wonder if the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus display was just color calibrated to be warmer to begin with. Time will tell, because if it’s just a yellowish screen glue thing, it’ll go away on it’s own shortly.

The only time I"ve seen a yellow tint on an LCD panel it was caused by moisture which somehow got into the LCD panel (more specifically the backlight diffuser layers behind it).

This kinda damage isn"t fixable, even if you go to the extreme of taking the actual LCD panel apart, trying to clean the backlight diffuser sheets by hand (been there, done that)

@brandonwh64: a solid line of lit pixels usually means bad LCD panel. The tab bonds (where the flex cables meet the actual glass panel) are coming loose, causing randomly lit/unlit lines or rows because the pixels don"t get control signals. No way to fix it properly. Just temporary solutions.

Does your iPhone screen have a yellow tint? This could be because a feature called Night Shift is turned on, but if your handset is one of the iPhone 12 series it may well be part of a wider problem.

Night Shift is a setting that filters out blue light from the iPhone screen – blue light being the enemy of sleep. You can easily turn the feature off by opening Settings > Display & Brightness then tapping on Night Shift to enter the settings page for that feature. Here you can see Night Shift is turned on and stop the setting activating.

True Tone could be another culprit. True Tone is a feature of iPhones, iPads and even Macs that changes the colour and brightness of the screen to suit the ambient light. It should mean that the screen is easier on the eyes.

The problem is that True Tone can cause a yellow cast to the screen. One way to fix the iPhone Yellow Screen problem is to adjust the True Tone setting: Open Settings > Display & Brightness. Now tap on the button beside True Tone to turn the feature off.

If having turned off True Tone and checked that Night Shift isn’t on you find that the display of your iPhone still has a yellow cast, it’s possible that your iPhone is affected by the iPhone 12 yellow screen problem. In that case here’s what to do:

This issue is thought to be related to software so it’s likely that the fix will come as a software update – indeed iOS 14.5 (which is in beta at the time we are writing this) is said to fix the iPhone 12 yellow screen bug. Read more about that here:

5. Turned on Always on Display then double click on lock screen (First, this method helped me, but then it just came back, and this method doesn"t work anymore, whenever it"s background is black, the screen is normal, but then when other color interferes, it just shows yellow tint again)
