How much you can get for your phone will depend mainly on its condition. Phones still in the box or in new or mint condition will draw the highest prices. Most buyers also prefer phones that are unlocked or are tied to specific network carriers, especially Verizon and AT&T.

Phones locked to other networks may garner slightly lower prices. The other factor affecting the price will be your phone’s storage capacity, with higher storage capacities fetching higher buyback offers.

The LG G7 ThinQ is a flagship Android phone with a super bright display at its centerpiece. A tall, 6.1-inch LCD panel fills almost all of its front, save for a little cutout at the top where the earpiece and front camera reside. It is powered by the Snapdragon 845, has a cleverly designed loudspeaker, and packs a dual camera at the back. The latter allows for ultra-wide photos to be taken in tight spots, while also enabling portrait mode. AI capabilities enable scene recognition for more impressive photographs.

Update: The LG G7 is no longer the newest phone from the company now that theLG G8is out, but it still has decent specs and retailers have likely dropped its price accordingly. Here"s our updated review.

It"s a reasonable, but not significant upgrade over last year"s LG G6 with a larger 6.1-inch all-screen display, AI-enhanced cameras, a loud "Boombox Speaker", a faster chipset, and at long last, an update(opens in new tab) to Android 9 Pie.

But even though it"s been surpassed by the LG G8, It"s also likely cheaper - which is better value so long as you"re fine forgoing the newer phone"s more powerful chipset and fancy new gesture-recognition tech.

You may not immediately be wowed by any of the LG G7 specs in comparison. It doesn"t have a curved OLED screen like the Samsung Galaxy S10 line, the quad-lens rear camera of the Huawei P30 Pro, or the undeniable value of the OnePlus 6T. And despite its controversial notch cutout at the top, it doesn"t have Apple"s fancy 3D TrueDepth camera, as seen on the iPhone XS or iPhone X.

LG is emphasizing that this is a smart, not flashy, phone. As the "ThinQ" part of the name suggests, the company is determined to push AI onto all of its smart devices no matter how awkward the moniker sounds.

There"s a dedicated AI button on the left side of the phone, and LG isn"t forcing its own virtual assistant homebrew into your daily life like Samsung does with Bixby.

We tested LG G7 for several weeks, and noticed an uptick in photo quality next to the G6, just like we saw on the LG V30S ThinQ, the first LG phone with its AI camera and Bright Mode.

It"s not better than the Google Pixel 2, Google Pixel 2 XL, or Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus – most due to LG"s smaller camera sensor size – but it"s still a step up for LG, and this is one of the only phones with a wide-angle camera.

Depending on where you live, it"s either a good deal for a phone without much pizzazz (like in the UK), or overpriced and will have you counting down the days to the inevitable LG V40 (like in the US). LG G7 is this year"s smartphone sleeper hit no matter where you live.

The Super Bright Display mode lasts for three minutes, a cap meant to save your battery and not overheat the device. That was just enough time to read messages our phone screen while walking outdoors in direct sunlight in our preliminary testing.

The problem is that the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus we were carrying also showed a peak brightness of more than 1,000 nits. It’s one of the few phones that can do this besides the G7, but it’s also LG’s chief smartphone rival. It some cases, the G7 looked brighter without distorting the images on-screen, but not always.

One thing to note though, the glass rear of the LG G7 is a real fingerprint magnet, so if you"re not planning on putting a case on the phone be prepared to give it regular wipes.

It"s no mystery that the South Korean giant LG"s smartphones business isn"t going pretty well but the company is working efficiently to reduce the losses. That is why in the last few years or so the company opted different routes as far as flagships are a concern. TheLG G5 was the company"s first phone with modular design, the idea didn"t work well. The very next year LG changed the flagship G6 design and opted glass and sandwich. Since then the company retains the glass and metal clad design but bringing improvements every year to lure customers.

With each new iteration, we had seen new improvements from LG and fortunately, the G8 ThinQ is no exception. TheG8 ThinQ was launched at this year MWC show. It is one of its kind phones with sound- producing display, you can also perform a number of features with the Z camera. In terms of hardware, you will be getting the latest Snapdragon 855 chipset with sufficient RAM and storage.

The first thing is everyone"s mind is whether all these goodies enough to upgrade to G8 ThinQ if you already own the last year"s G7 ThinQ. The G7 ThinQ is currently available at much affordable price tag. Today we will put the latest G8 ThinQ in a head-to-head confrontation to know in detail the real differences and similarities between the two phones. Without any delay, let"s start with the design.

Both have a small notch at the top of the display with a thin chin at the bottom. Another prominent aspect is G8 ThinQ earpiece isn"t visible. The glass rear on the G8 ThinQ is more gently curved which makes it an easy device to grasp single handidly. Both have the fingerprint scanner on the rear side in the center. The G8 ThinQ has dual snappers aligned horizontallywhereas the G7 ThinQ rear cameras were placed vertically.

Like most of the latest phones both areIP68 certified phones which means both can resist against 1.5 meters deep water for 30 minutes without any damage. The G8 ThinQ dimensions are 151.9 x 71.8 x 8.4 mm and weigh 167g whereas the G7 ThinQ is slightly larger but less thick at 153.2 x 71.9 x 7.9 mm and weighs 162g.

For connectivity, both the phones have the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack and USB-C port. The G8 ThinQ will be available in Carmine Red, Aurora Black, and Moroccan Blue whereas the G7 ThinQ is available in Rasberry Rose, Moroccan Blue, Aurora Black, and Platinum Gray.

Despite having similar size display there is a prominent difference between the two phones. The G7 ThinQ features a 6.1-inches IPS LCD display whereas the G8 ThinQ features6.1-inches OLED display. Both phones support HDR10. Both the phones haveQuad HD+ screen resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels. The display pixels density is 564 pixels-per-inch.

The G7 ThinQ"s display was pretty good but the deep black, colors reproduction and vibrancy on the G8 ThinQ is better due to OLED panel. The G8 ThinQ doesn"t have traditional earpiece speaker instead the company debuted “Crystal Sound OLED” which means the OLED display on the G8 ThinQ works as a speaker. The G8 ThinQ certainly has an upper hand in the display department.

The G7 ThinQ was available in two configurations. The base model has 4GB RAM with 64GB storagewhereas the top-tier model has 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The G8 ThinQ is available only in one variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Both the phones support memory expansion via MicroSD.

The G8 ThinQ is amongst the best performing phones due to the latest hardware but the G7 ThinQ is also quite capable to handle HIFI tasks and games efficiently.

Considering the latest standard the G7 ThinQ3,000mAh battery seems smaller but still it last single day on normal usage. The G8 ThinQ comes with a slightly larger 3,500mAh batterycell. Considering the power efficient chipset and similar display we can expect the G8 ThinQ will last longer than the predecessor. Both the phones support Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging. Thanks to glass rear both support Qi Wireless charging.

The G8 ThinQ comes with dual selfie snappers, the primary sensor is8MP module whereas the secondary sensor is ToF module. The ToF not only assist in capturing portrait shots but also brings new Z camera feature. The new Z camera brings hands-free controls with gestures. The G8 ThinQ can perform a number of tasks without touching the phone. The G7 ThinQ has single selfie snapper of 8MP with f/1.9 aperture.

As mentioned above LG always try to incorporate new special features to attract buyers. The G7 ThinQ was the company"s first flagship phone with Boombox audio setup. The G7 internal was used as a resonance chamber to provide boosted audio experience. Fortunately, LG retained this feature on the G8 ThinQ as well with few extra goodies.

LG dubbed their selfie camera and ToF sensor as "Z camera". The Air Power feature utilizes the Z camera to perform specific gestures to perform tasks. You don"t need to use a hand if you want to change video when your hands are wet or picking call and much more. The Z camera also brings 3D facial recognition which means the G8 ThinQ facial scanner is as score as the Face ID on iPhones. Last but not the least a newHand IDfeature is introduced which means the device identify user"s hand to unlock the device. These new tricks are certainly not used on a daily basis but certainly good to have few extra features.

It"s a fair question. Time and time again, LG has made generally excellent premium phones that are slightly cheaper than the concurrent Samsung flagship. And yet, LG still experiences

And so it goes again. The G7 ThinQ (pronounced "thin-kew") carries over a lot of things I liked from last year"s flagship: water resistance, a headphone jack, a sharp screen and a capable dual-camera.

In addition, at $750 to $790 (prices vary by carrier), the G7 is pricier than past LG flagships -- about $80 to $150 more depending on the carrier. (UK and Australia pricing hasn"t officially been announced, but that converts to about £559 to £589 and AU$978 to AU$1,030, respectively.) That may be because the G7 starts out with more internal memory than previous LGs. But that price range now puts the phone closer to Galaxy S9 territory, slashing one of LG"s most notable advantages: cost-savings.

I"ve gotten used to using a phone with a notch, so I won"t debate its merits here. I will say, though, that the G7"s notch is optional -- kind of. Like the

But blues, reds and greens looked more vibrant and saturated on the Galaxy S9 than on the G7. In addition, the G7"s blacks could not compete with the OLED screens of the other two, and its screen looked more darkish gray than the Galaxy and the iPhone when displaying a black swatch. Lastly, even though color shifting isn"t a huge deal on phones, color tones changed more on the G7 as you viewed it from different angles.

Overall, the G7 is tall and slim, with thin bezels (save for the bottom) and a glossy design. It doesn"t have any particular wow factor (like the Galaxy S9"s curved screen) or any other thing that just sets it apart (like the Pixel 2"s glass shade). But then again, that"s like most phones. And while the G7"s back attracts fingerprints like a magnet, it also feels less fragile than the Galaxy S9 and iPhone X. I"d still be careful, since the front and back are made of glass, but at least I"m not a nervous wreck while using it with one hand.

Other design tidbits:The phone is rated IP68, meaning you can dunk it in 1 meter (about 3 feet) of water for 30 minutes. It kept working after our dunk test, when the phone was submerged for 28 minutes in a 5-gallon bucket of water.

Unlike past LG G phones, the G7"s fingerprint sensor on the back doesn"t double as a sleep/power button. That button is now on the right edge and the fingerprint reader is now just a plain ol" reader.

But if AI is what the G7 is going for, Assistant is a safe choice. It can carry out some G7-specific actions like taking a photo with the wide-angle camera or launching the camera on AI mode (though sometimes this is slow). And I prefer LG"s route to roping users into some new, half-baked proprietary platform like Samsung"s Bixby, which is accessible on Galaxy phones through a hotkey too. Read more on

In general though, I found myself skipping the feature. It can be distracting, and while I can imagine someone enjoying the novelty at first, the phone"s algorithms need to be more accurate and work faster to compel me to use it.

Compared to the iPhone X and the Galaxy S9 Plus, the G7 does a good job at figuring out what should be in the fore- and background and configures the bokeh effect quickly. Tricky edges (like the stray hairs around a head) were rendered well, with no obvious patches or halo. And unlike the iPhone X, you can adjust the amount of blurriness in the background. But I prefer the iPhone X"s warmer handling of skin tone, and even though the G7"s colors were more "accurate," per se, its photos looked cooler and washed out in the end.

The LG added a few audio upgrades to the G7 as well. These include:Louder volume: The G7 only has one audio speaker that sits on the bottom edge of the phone, so it doesn"t have stereo sound and is easy to accidentally cover with one hand if you"re not paying attention. But it can still get louder than the G6 because its insides act as a resonance chamber for its onboard speaker.

Built in digital-to-analog converter: Like the V30, the G7 has a built-in DAC. This improves audio for your headphones, and it"s great for listening to high-end lossless audio on your phone (like the Tidal streaming music service).

Sound from every direction with headphones: The G7 has 7.1-surround audio via DTS X support. This gives you sound from multiple directions, but it doesn"t work with the G7"s one speaker. You can only experience this with wired headphones.

Benchmark tests also showed lightning-quick speeds. Considering only phones with the Snapdragon 845 processor, the G7 beat out the Galaxy S9 in one of our tests, though both were edged out by the OnePlus 6.Geekbench v.4.0 single-core

During our battery tests for continuous video on Airplane mode, the phone lasted an average of 12 hours and 38 minutes. As a comparison, the G6 (which has a larger 3,300mAh battery) lasted 13 hours and 21 minutes, and both the Galaxy S9 and OnePlus 6 clocked an average of nearly 15.5 hours.

While 12 hours under lab conditions is certainly enough to last through the workday (and let"s not get it twisted -- the Galaxy S9 and OnePlus 6 will eventually need to be charged too), the G7"s battery life is less than impressive compared to its rivals. While the lower battery capacity is a factor, the phone"s screen is also brighter than before, which likely contributes to the shortened test result.

A nit is a measurement of the light that a display emits, equal to one candela per square meter. Brighter displays ensure a screen"s contents are easy to read, even in sunny conditions.

The display supports HDR10, which is an HDR (high dynamic range) video technology. Compared to standard dynamic range (SDR) video, HDR10 video has greater contrast and color depth, resulting in more realistic images.

While LG’s latest flagship phone, the LG G7 ThinQ, is soon to be officially announced next month, rumors regarding its specs no longer surprise fans, as they have been floating around the internet since MWC 2018. But if you want to know what’s in store for this device, here’s what you can expect from it.

LG announced that they will unveil the LG G7 phone in New York and Seoul on May 2. Now that its launch date is set in stone, it’s expected that the G7 ThinQ will hit store shelves in the Philippines later in May.

Since 2017, large displays have been one of the biggest trends of flagship phones, with most devices sporting an 18:9 aspect ratio. While it’s not clear what the LG G7’s display size will be, rumors suggest that it may come with a 6.1-inch display. Aside from that, the device will sport an 18:9 aspect ratio and a Quad HD+ resolution.

The LG G7 phone is said to run the all-new Snapdragon 845. Much like its predecessor, the LG V30S, the LG 7 is expected to be equipped with advanced AI technologies, such as the Voice AI that responds to users’ voice commands. A 4 GB RAM and a 32 GB internal storage with micro SD support are among the internals you will find on the LG G7. When it comes to the battery capacity, the LG G7 phone is said to feature a 3300-mAh capacity similar to the LG G6 and LG V30.
