might not be quite right, as the USE_MEGA_16BIT_SHIELD (using the special driver) had to be #define"d, along with the Identifier to 0x9595. (To be precise, I"ve already did this with my board that came in previously, with no avail.)
With that being said, ArekJan"s modified UTFT library to support the Hirax 8347-I now works too, straight out of the box, without any alterations to the source code. I"m mentioning this for the other unfortunate souls reading this forum: if your 8347-I display, similar to mine, stays white, no matter which library you get, try my approach (MCUFRIEND_kbv with the define and the proper Identifier, or the UTFT-8347i library). If they don"t seem to do anything, your display is a DOA, ready to be shipped back to the seller.
