TOKYO, February 7, 2013 - Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced today that it has developed a prototype car display system with an optical engine that can project images on curved, oval or triangular screens to suit a wide range of car interiors.

The system"s free-form screen responds flexibly to the increasing use of curves and other design features in car interiors. At the same time, its easy visibility helps to promote driving safety. The system incorporates display technologies that Mitsubishi Electric fostered through its development of rear-projection TVs as well as car electronics that withstand severe operating conditions, ensuring high quality and reliability.

Mitsubishi Electric"s original curve-variable optical system projects images on screens of various shapes to minimize blur in screen areas with deep curves. The prototype system"s single optical engine adapts to a wide range of surfaces, unlike conventional displays that require a designated optical engine designed for a screen"s specific curves or shape.

To ensure steady performance and extended product life, Mitsubishi Electric developed a hybrid cooler that combines systems for highly efficient radiation and natural and forced-air cooling. In addition, the overall structure minimizes distortion of the optical engine and chassis due to vibration or shock while driving, ensuring that images remain crisp and clear. The display also incorporates a plastic screen that absorbs light to maintain excellent visibility in bright environments.

The display system incorporates red, green and blue LEDs for its light source to achieve a color gamut 1.5-times wider than conventional displays that use white LED backlights. The three different LEDs produce brighter colors and increased visibility. In addition, a light sensor separately controls light emissions from the different LEDs, each having its own temperature characteristics, and maintains color balance to stabilize color reproduction in a wide range of temperatures.

Equipped with the DisplayPortTM 1.2a input terminal, Mitsubishi Electric display walls feature four 2×2 panels joined via daisy-chain connection using a DisplayPortTM cable, enabling the reproduction of ultrahigh-definition 4K image (3,840×2,160 pixels) signals as is.

Multi-vision balancing technology inherited from Mitsubishi Display Wall Technology an internal sensor and an inter-screen communication function are incorporated, enabling brightness between screens to be balanced automatically, thus maintaining an even brightness across multiple screens.

The Mitsubishi HC3800 is a solid and competitive new entry in low priced 1080p home theater projectors. It couples a bright video-optimized picture with excellent contrast and a 1.5:1 zoom lens. The 5,000 hour lamp will reduce maintenance costs down the line. It requires calibration, but pretty much every projector we review can benefit from calibration. Overall it is an outstanding value for the money.

I"m wondering how this compares to the PT-AE4000. Is there an appreciable picture quality difference between the two. The Panasonic is LCD, has a lot of features, but is the PQ better, disregarding price?

i have problem with the projector Mitsubishi HC3800. It´s probably a hardware error. I found during the projection, that the color homogeneity, especially with white color, goes from right to left side by 35% down with brightnes, respectively goes to the pink color. Projection is ceiling. When projection is front, you can see brightness in the opposite side. Brightness artefact is stable, without moving. Projector is new one, 2 hours in use, ambient temperature=22°C.

My Panasonic, Sony, and Epson projectors have all been mounted in the same place on the ceiling, probably about 16" from the wall throwing an image onto a 108" screen. I would like to move to a screen size between 135" and 150". With the previously mentioned (LCD) projectors, all I would have to do to is twist the lens and make some shift adjustments and, presto, 150" screen exactly where I want it.

Hi i have bought the mitsubishi hc 3800 projektor and its the best buy i ever did. It has a good sharp picture and a long lamp time if you use the low lamp mode. I only have one problem now. Because of apartment rennovation my projektor has been securely packed away but now as i have remounted it in my ceiling again getting ready to use it again. It wont show any picture. Only the black and white ant war and it says no signal sometimes. My projektor is mounted in the ceiling with a proper projektor hanger. For cable i am using a 10 meter long highspeed hdmi cable 1, 4 from my blu-ray to the projektor. I have used this combination for 2 years now and it has worked perfectly until after the rennovation. Still using the original lamp. Think it might be a setting on the projektor that im missing but not shure. Would shurely appreciate any help to get it working again if you know what to do. Regards Michael

Since introducing the industry"s first commercially available 20.1" LCD monitor in 1997, NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display of America has advanced medical display solutions with its XtraView wide angle viewing technology and Ambix technology, which bridges the gap between analog and digital systems by allowing the same monitor to work seamlessly in either environment using a single DVI-I connector.

NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display of America , Inc., stand-alone vendor of flat panel desktop displays, has introduced two new NEC AccuSync LCD monitors for the system builder market.

Market research firm DisplaySearch reports NEC-Mitsubishi is the world"s top supplier of LCD monitors, based on revenues in the third quarter of 2001.

Without having to use multiple monitors to simulate a single ultra wide stretch LCD monitor, it would be more economically smart to get 1 stretched LCD monitor that can do the job of multiple monitors combined, especially for applications that are space conscious.

WitsView"s latest report shows that LCD monitor shipments by the world"s top 10 brands increased 13.1% from May to 11.84 million units in June, due partly to recovering demand by commercial segments and partly to channel inventory digestion.

Backed by strong growth in the LCD monitor business, Samsung has maintained the top spot in the world"s monitor market for nine straight quarters starting from the third quarter of 2006 in unit sales and seven straight quarters from the first quarter of 2007 in revenue terms, said the statement.
