(Bloomberg) -- Japan Display Inc., once one of Apple Inc.’s key suppliers, sees a new market for its liquid crystal displays after ceding the smartphones arena to rival OLED screens: the niche yet growing virtual reality business.
The Tokyo-based LCD specialist expects its favored display technology to become the standard for VR because it can achieve higher resolution than OLED while keeping costs reasonable. That advantage is imperceptible in mobile devices but becomes critical in the more demanding VR scenario.
Many of the first wave of headsets released five years ago used OLED screens -- or organic light-emitting diodes, the same as used across most flagship phones today -- for their responsiveness to fast-moving action, a common feature of gaming experiences. But major players such as HTC Corp. and Facebook have moved to LCDs for their latest products, betting on the more economical standard to improve the user experience and immersion. Industry researchers at Omdia saw LCD adoption rise in 2020 and forecast the technology will dominate the category over the next five years.
One important holdout remains: Sony Group Corp. plans to use Samsung Display Co. OLED panels in its next-generation PlayStation VR goggles, according to people with knowledge of the matter. The Japanese console giant sold more than 5 million units of the original PS VR, launched in 2016, and is aiming to release the successor in the holiday period next year, the people said, asking not to be named discussing internal plans.
To grab a bigger share of the market, JDI is working to convince VR companies it can solve two of their biggest hurdles: display quality and cost. Because VR goggles place the screen so much closer to the human eye, they require higher resolution and clarity than mobile screens, achieved by packing pixels closer together. JDI is capable of producing displays with 1,200 pixels per inch, more than double the typical density of top-tier phone panels, according to its chief VR headset engineer, Yoshihiro Watanabe.
The threshold for a high-quality VR experience is to have a display with at least 1,000 pixels per inch, Watanabe said, adding that JDI is one of the few display makers -- if not the only -- that can mass-produce such panels at a reasonable production yield.
JDI was created in 2012 by the combination of the display-making units of Sony, Hitachi Ltd. and Toshiba Corp., with much of its revenue since then coming from mobile handsets, especially iPhones. More than half of its total sales used to come from the Apple business, but the iPhone maker’s adoption of OLED technology left the company reeling.
Unable to develop its own OLED panels to a competitive level with leader Samsung Display, JDI has seen its revenue from phones drop from 838 billion yen ($7.7 billion) in the year ended March 2016 to an expected 81 billion yen this fiscal year. The firm sold the factory it had used mainly to produce panels for Apple to Sharp Corp. last year.
It’s difficult to say that LCD is in all cases superior to OLED for VR, Hayase said, because OLED offers better contrast in addition to faster response times. The key for JDI will be to establish a solid footing in the industry by addressing customer needs that other suppliers would turn down owing to the small market size, he added. JDI has experience of doing that from its business supplying display panels for digital cameras.

Liquid crystal displays (LCDs) are the most widely used display technology. Their applications cover TV, mobile phone, appliances, automotive, smart home, industrial meters, consumer electronics, POS, marine, aerospace, military etc. LCD screen display problem can occur for several reasons.
Effect of environmental conditions on the LCD assembly. Environmental conditions include both the effects of temperature and humidity, and cyclic loading.
Effect of manufacturing process. With the development of LCD for more than 40 years and the modern manufacturing equipment, this kind if defects are getting rear.
Common failures seen in LCDs are a decrease in screen contrast, non-functioning pixels or the whole display, and broken glass. Different kinds of LCD display problem need to have different kinds of fix methods or make the decision not worthwhile to repair.
Broken glassIf you accidently drop the LCD and you find it broken on the surface but the display still works. You might just break the touch panel; you can find a repair house or find a youtube video to replace the touch panel. If you find the display not showing, especially you find the fluid leaking out. You need to reply the whole display modules.
Dim LCD displayLCD can’t emit light itself. It uses backlight. Normally, the backlight is not fully driven, you can increase the LED backlight to make a dim LCD display brighter. But if you LCD display has been used for a long time, it is possible that the LED backlight has to be the end of life (not brightness enough) if you turn on 100% backlight brightness. In that case to fix LCD screen, you have to find a way to change the backlight. For some display, it is an easy job but it can be difficult for other displays depending on the manufacturing process.
Image sticking (Ghosting)Sometimes, you will find the previous image still appearing at the background even if you change to another image. It is also called burn in. This kind of failure doesn’t need to repair by professionals. You can simply shut off the display overnight, this kind of problem will go away. Please do remember that displaying a static image for a long time should be avoided.
With the modern manufacturing process and design, this kind of failure rarely happens. Normally, it is caused by no power. Please check if the battery dead or adapter (power supply) failure or even check if you have plug in firmly or with the wrong power supply. 99% the display will be back on.
LCD has white screen – If a LCD has a white screen which means the backlight is good. Simply check your signal input sources which are the most causes. It can also be caused by the display totally damaged by ESD or excess heat, shock which make the LCD controller broken or the connection failure which has to be repaired by professionals.
Blur ImagesAs the LCD images are made of RGB pixels, the screen shouldn’t be blur like old CRT displays. If you do see blur images, they might be caused by two reasons. 1) LCD has certain response time, if you are playing games or watch fast action movies, some old LCD displays can have image delays. 2) The surface of the LCD is made of a layer of plastic film with maximum hardness of 3H. If you clean the surface often or use the wrong detergent or solvent which cause the surface damage. To fix damage on LED screen it’s need to be changed with professionals.

It is fading from the top left side (more or less) and it is moving down to the bottom right corner. The backlight stays on the whole time until the restart (as far as I can tell) and it looks like the power has been cut to the LCD. Disconnecting the controller cable between the main board and the power supply keeps the screen on with 100% brightness and no picture (obviously). Turning it on with one of the T-con cables turns the tv on, you can hear the menu working just fine by the sounds, no matter which one I plug in, but having both of them plugged in at the same time as it should be gives picture and the fading to black as I mentioned above. I already contacted an ebay seller about a new main board but he said he bought it originally to solve the exact same problem, without any luck, so he advised me not to do the same mistake.

BMW 3 series (E36), 5 series (E34, E39), 7 series (E38), 8 series (E31), X5 from 1988-2003 all have the common dead / fading / disappearing pixels on the dashboard instrument cluster / speedometer (also on the board computer) - on the large LCD display that shows valuable data such as the mileage and the on board computer messages. The LCD display pixel problem lies with the OBC ribbon cable that connects the LCD display to the circuit board of the instrument cluster. The pictures below show the speedo / instrument cluster"s LCD display before and after the silver ribbon cable KIT replacement (just an example of several board computer / dashboard instrument cluster types):
The instrument cluster units in the BMW E38, E39 and X5 models from 1994-2003 are quite similar - (they were all produced by Siemens VDO) - using the same LCD and the same ribbon cable at all models. There are minor differences, like diesel or petrol powered ones, and also some speedos come with miles others with km/hrs, however the OBC LCD display and the ribbon cable is the same at all 5 series (E39) 7 series (E38) and X5 (E53) and M5 models.
The OBC unit on the MID console - also known as radio / telephone unit on BMW E39, X5, M5 models from 1996-2003 are identical, using the same OBC LCD and the same ribbon cable. There are minor differences, like one comes with telephone button, others are witout, however the LCD display and the ribbon cable is the same at all 5 series (E39) X5 (E53) and M5 models.
Fits all E39 / E53 MID units assembled with bulbs (not leds). If you have uneven background light on the MID unit (some parts of the LCD are lighter, some are darker), most probably you have dead or almost dead bulbs.
The OBC unit on the MID console - also known as radio / telephone unit on BMW E38 from 1994-2003 have the very common fading or missing pixels, lines, columns.
Fits all BMW E38 7 series A/C (air conditioning) climate control units assembled with 2 small LCD"s - just like the one on the picture. Essential for dead or fading pixel repairs.
BMW 8 series (E31), from1988-1999 all have the common disappearing/fading pixels on the on board computer LCD. The problem lies with the ribbon cable that connects the LCD display to the circuit board of the MID.
BMW 3 series (E36), from1988-1999 all have the common disappearing / fading or completely dead LCD pixels on the board computer display. The problem lies with the ribbon cable that connects the LCD display to the circuit board of the MID. All 3 variants (8 / 11 / 16 buttons) are available.
This is a very common failure at BMW E90, E91, E92 BMW CD73 stereo / radio / head units, that the central display has missing lines and columns, missing and fading pixels all around the LCD display. Most common at BMW 3 series E90, but E91 E92 and other models are also affected.
This is a very common failure at BMW E90, E91, E92 BMW CD73 stereo / radio / head units, that the central display has missing lines and columns, missing and fading pixels all around the LCD display.
If your display is leaking, suffers from pixel issues (one or more pixels, or complete lines are missing), or completely dead, then this KIT will NOT help, this case please do not buy it!
This is a very common failure at BMW Bavaria radio units, that the display has missing lines and columns, missing and fading pixels all around the LCD display.
Why do the BMW speedometer LCD displays fail with pixel failure? DIY Pixel repair helps with pixel failure? Well the BMW speedo manufacturers have a few minurtes only to produce a complete BMW speedo with LCD dispay and silver. Because of this, VDO Instrument Cluster manufacturer decied to assemble the BMW LCD display and the silver ribbon cable with heat bonding procedure. This BMW speedometer assembly design makes the contacts of the LCD display and the ribbon cable loose contact very fast, most cases in just a few years. This means, the BMW LCD display show pixel failures, it needs pixel repair, but both the silver ribbon cable and the BMW LCD display work well - only the connection of them is bad, tha is why you have LCD display pixel problems, and you need a pixel fix by a professional, or done DIY with an LCD display pixel repair KIT - a silver cable. How can we improve the quality of the LCD displays and the ribbon cables? Well if you assemble the LCD with the ribbon cable with pressure, no heat bonding, then the pixels of the BMW LCD display will work for an unlimited time. Dashboard LCD displays work on high temperature, so it is the best to avoid using the heat bonding procedure. Pixel repair DIY, or pixel fix by a professional?
The LCD display repair ribbon cable KIT is available in silver cable version. Once the BMW dashboard instrument cluster LCD display pixel failure was properly repaired, the BMW speedometer display will work as new, the silver ribbon cable and the LCD will work for good in the speedometer.
- If the bulbs are out behind the display, then all the rows and colunms do work on the BMW speedometer LCD display, but the background light of the LCD display is uneven, or some cases the BMW LCD display is completely dark. This case no need to repair the pixels, you do not need a silver or carbon ribbon cable, nor a new LCD display. This case you just need to buy the lightbulbs that provide light behind the BMW LCD display.
- If the BMW speedometer LCD display has really pixel problems, then typically lines or colunms of the display are missing. Several cases the characters are broken, numbers and letters shown on the speedometer display are unreadable - tha backlight is even. In case of a real pixel problem, when one or more pixels are missing from the display, you need to buy a silver ribbon cable, a carbon ribbon cable, or some cases a complete BMW LCD display. It really depends on that if it is a BMW, a Mercedes, and Audi, Saab or other make, and of course if it a MID display, a speedometer, a board computer or other LCD dipslay. Most cases, when you have a pixel failure, and you decide to repair it, it"s really worth to buy a set of bulbs too, as bulbs tend to go out during repair - this is due to the massive mechanical shocks experienced during the pixel repair procedure.
Well, most of the BMW pixel repair KITs we sell are designed to be simple and easy to use. The word easy should now be the subject of further discussion. An average BMW speedometer LCD display pixel repair is far more difficult then replacing a lightbulb. You definitely have to have good mechnical skills, and some household tools, such as nippers, screewdrivers, household tape, and other goodies to fix things around the house.
If you have to ask one of these questions, then you definitly should NOT do a BMW speedometer LCD display pixel repair at home (we were asked these questions before, this is not a joke):
Well, Pixelfix is an internationally registered trademark. Pixelfix only sells the highest quality BMW speedometer silver ribbon cables, that are capable of lifetime operation. We sell most of our repairs with lifetime warranty, and you will find the exact same displays, cables, and other spare parts that we use for professional repairs. The silver ribbon cables we use for BMW E38 E39 M5 X5 LCD display pixel repair are real silver, which is a very expensive base material, that is why the price is much higher compared to carbon ribbon cables.
You may keep an eye on your package, if you ordered the BMW LCD dispaly with postal delivery on you may check the status on your local post office"s website, or if you ordered next day deliver then you need to see TNT / FedEx or DHL tracking site for status.
All BMW LCD displays, ribbon cables, BMW speedometer spare parts bought in the webshop will come with an invoice. All invoices are issued electronically, so you will receive an e-mail with the printable invoice in it. This invoce can be printed and filed to the accounts.
No worries, we do provide technical support, and help repairing of your BMW speedometer LCD display. We have been repairing these BMW display units for years, we made hundreds of BMW speedometer repairs, so we can provide tecnical support very effectively - on the phone, via skype, via e-amil or whichever you prefer. Please note that you need to book an appointment, but it is completely free of charge.
No worries, this symptom can be due to a bagatel problem which is easy to fix. If there are no pixels on the BMW instrument cluster"s display at all, that MUST be due to one of the followings:
Let"s talk about the worst case scenario, you started the repair, but you do not seem to deal with the repair of the BMW instrument cluster"s display. This case we have a backup solution. We always stand behind our customers, so you may send the BMW speedometer LCD display unit to us for repair, and no matter what the condition of the unit is, we can help. More precisely, up to this point we always succeeded, meaning none of our customers managed to do such a damage in the unit that we could not fix. The repair does not cost a fortune, in a lucky case it is 20-30 Euro plus return delivery cost only.

SEOUL (Reuters) - Liquid-crystal display (LCD) screens were expected to slowly fade and die, giving way to lighter, thinner and tougher organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panels in everything from smartphones to televisions.A man watches Sharp"s television sets at an electronic shop in Tokyo in this March 19, 2012 file photo. REUTERS/Kim Kyung-Hoon/Files
But LCD is refusing to go quietly as its picture quality keeps getting better. At the same time, the major backers of credit card-thin OLED panels - led by Samsung Electronics Coand LG Electronics Inc- are struggling to make the technology cheap enough to mass produce. The two South Korean firms this year showcased 55-inch (140 cm) OLED TVs, but priced at around $10,000 (6,220 pounds) - 10 times that of an LCD equivalent - they have yet to reach store shelves.
OLED displays, used on Samsung’s Galaxy S and Note smartphones, have been touted as the future display model to replace LCDs across the consumer electronics spectrum - from TVs to computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones. OLED is more energy efficient and offers higher contrast images than LCD, and is so thin that future mobile devices will be unbreakable, and will be able to be folded or rolled up like a newspaper.
But OLED panel makers such as Samsung Display and LG Displayhave yet to address major manufacturing challenges to lower costs to compete against LCD panels.
At the same time, LCD panels, which are used on 9 of every 10 television sets, are still evolving and show no sign of giving way in this latest battle to set the global standard - less than a decade since LCD effectively killed off plasma screens.
“OLED still has a long way to go to become a mainstream display, as it has to become bigger and improve picture quality,” said Chung Won-seok, an analyst at HI Investment & Securities. “The use of OLEDs will continue to be confined to small displays at least for the next 2-3 years. Its usage as a mainstream TV panel is only likely in 2014, but even then there’s a possibility of intense competition with LCD TVs as that technology keeps improving.”
Far from fading, LCD panels now offer better picture quality - up to four times better than OLED - and use less power, creating robust demand from smartphone and tablet makers.
As has often been the case, Apple Incmoved the goalposts by upgrading the display resolution for its iPhone and iPad, still the high-end LCD market"s gold standard, prompting rivals to upgrade their display panel qualifications. Analysts at Macquarie predict Apple will adopt high-resolution screens for the MacBook Air and iMac monitor next year, accelerating the industry"s shift to high-resolution displays.
"The pixel war is an absolute bonanza for LCD makers," said Kim Byung-ki, analyst at Kiwoom Securities. "Manufacturers from LG Display to Samsung, Sharp Corp, AU Optronics Corpand Chimei (Innolux)all will gradually convert their traditional lines into more high-end product fabs, and that will curtail supply and boost profitability."
These higher-resolution panels cost more than double the commodity-type LCD screens, boosting panel producers’ profits. Even Samsung, the standard bearer for OLED panels and also a major LCD manufacturer, is actively promoting LCD screens for tablets and laptops over OLED, said a person familiar with the matter, who was not authorised to talk to the media so didn’t want to be named.
Both Sony and LG Electronics now sell ultra HD (high definition) LCD sets that boast four times the picture quality of HD TVs. The two firms, which are selling 84-inch TVs, aim to reduce that size to cater for more popular smaller sets.
Japan’s Sharp is the frontrunner in IGZO technology, which uses indium gallium zinc oxide instead of amorphous silicon, in panel manufacturing. LG Display, a major supplier to Apple, is investing 1.2 trillion won ($1.1 billion) by end-2013 in its production of low-temperature poly silicon (LTPS) panels - a technology used to make screens for the iPhone and iPad.
While new technologies can be game-changers, these panels are not simple to produce, limiting availability and driving up manufacturing costs. Some warn of an LCD supply shortage.
“The LCD industry is improving more strongly than expected and panels are likely to be in short supply from 2013, as manufacturers upgrade their lines to increase high-end products. This requires more processing time and steps, reducing total output,” said Kim Dong-won, an analyst at Hyundai Securities.
As LCD prospects improve, LG Display, the world’s top LCD maker, swung to a quarterly profit in July-September, ending a run of seven straight quarterly losses.
LG Display is expected to continue its solid performance, as Apple buys fewer parts from rival Samsung and moves more to high-end displays on a wider range of its products. LG Display shares have risen by around a third in 3 months, double Samsung"s gains. In Taiwan, AU Optronics shares are up 41 percent over that same period and Chimei is up 45 percent. Shares in cash-strapped Sharp hit a 2-month high on Wednesday after the company secured an up to $120 million cash injection from Qualcomm Inc, which will help it fund development of its IZGO technology.
“LG Display and its peers are actually sowing the seeds of the next cycle downturn by doing what they always do - wherever they see a profit opportunity, they focus on it, adding capacity and dissipating the excess returns,” said Stanford Bernstein analyst Alberto Moel.

Oculus Go is using a customized LCD from Sharp Display, which has a 1920x3664 resolution, 72 Hz refresh rate. It has a partition backlight system and two separated display areas which correspond to a binocular lens.
The F-35 is a fifth-generation warplane developed by the United States. The F-35 helmet display system has multiple capabilities and must operate in extreme conditions, which requires unique high-brightness Micro OLED display technology.
What is Micro OLED? Why Micro OLED is good choice for AR/VR devices. Apple"s first VR/MR headset will be launched next year. This headset will be equipped with three screens, two of them are micro OLED displays.
Now LCD is the most common VR device screen on the market, and a few VR products use OLED screens and Mirco-OLED screens. Micro OLED is unfamiliar for VR players. Arpara 5K PC VR, the world"s first VR device, is using the micro-OLED display.
BOE responded to investors about the development of AR/VR display panels, saying that BOE has provided VR/AR/MR smart applications display solutions, including high PPI, high refresh rate of Fast LCD and ultra-high resolution, ultra-high contrast of Micro OLED (silicon-based OLED) and other representative display technology.
As the new energy vehicle market continues to develop in ways that exceed initial expectations, the automotive industry continues to promote the trend towards "electrification, intelligence, Internet connection" and other technological innovations that, when combined, are driving the continuous demand for on-board displays.
SID Display brought together the industry’s biggest players – including BOE, Samsung Display, Tianma, TCL Huaxin, LG Display, Visionox, AUO and Innolux, among others.
According to India"s latest report, Samsung"s Image Display Division purchased about 48 million panels in 2021 and shipped 42 million units. In 2022, meanwhile, it plans to purchase 56 million panels and ship 48 million units in 2022. The panels it purchases will be made up of 53 million OPEN Cell LCD TVs, 1 million QD OLED panels, and 2 million WOLED TV panels.
With the explosive growth of new energy vehicles and vehicle intelligence in 2021, in-vehicle display technology has also undergone a period of rapid development. First, end-users and OEMs have begun to pursue multi-screen, high-resolution, and large-size displays. And, secondly, major panel manufacturers have actively adopted diversification strategies based on their own particular strengths and adjusted their own layouts accordingly.
AM-OLED shows the current is still in the technology leading period, folding, screen camera, narrow frame, high refresh rate, low power consumption, ultra-thin display technology popular with the market, terminal application penetration accelerated, and gradually from smartphones, smart wear small main penetration areas to the car, laptop size expansion, industry in rapid expansion period, no previous display industry facing cyclical fluctuations, the overall industry pattern initially formed.

VISLCD has been engaged in LCD production and sales for 9 years, and we have met many customers who shared with us that they had encountered unreliable LCD suppliers.
For example, the answer is not what you asked for, the LCD product cannot be delivered on time, the price of the LCD suddenly increases, the LCD module suddenly breaks down during the use of the product, or even the LCD is discontinued after less than 1 year of delivery…etc. In addition, there are many customers who are not sure what type of LCD supplier they are looking for.
In view of all the above, VISLCD has written this article to share knowledge about LCD suppliers and other issues related to LCD. We believe it will be helpful to LCD customers.
To understand LCD suppliers, we first need to know what kinds of LCD suppliers are available. Then LCD customers can find the right supplier based on information such as their product applications, LCD requirements and forecast volume.
LCD original manufacturer refers to the original manufacturer of LCD panel. Originated from the USA in the 1960’s, after more than 50 years of development, the manufacturers are now mainly located in China mainland, Korea and Taiwan. Among them, the Chinese manufacturers in recent years rely on the rapid scale, technology development and price advantage, has gradually occupied the main market share.
The video below is an official video presentation of the BOE display factory and Century Display (CTC), which will give you a more visual understanding of the original LCD manufacturer.
The 5.1 generation TFT-LCD line of Century Display in Shenzhen, China, for example, has been put into operation since 2008 with a cumulative fixed investment of more than $4 billion, and the cost of water, electricity, employee wages and equipment depreciation is as high as $0.5~100 million/month. The monthly production capacity is about 100,000 sheets ( 1300*1200mm/sheet). If all of them are used to produce 7-inch LCD panels, then the monthly shipment volume is up to 9,000,000 pcs. Therefore, a very large monthly shipment volume is required to meet the normal operation of the factory.
This is only the 5.1 generation TFT-LCD line, if it is 8.5 generation line or even 10 generation line or more, then the cost and shipment volume may be several times or even ten times more. It should be noted that the number of generations of LCD lines does not mean that the technology is high or low. The higher the generation, then the larger the size of the LCD can be put into production, of course, the greater the volume of shipments and investment amount.
LCD original manufacturers generally provide mainly LCD panels, but also provide COG (LCD + IC), FOG (LCD + IC + FPCA cable) and other kinds of LCD semi-finished products. Also includes a small amount of the original LCD module. But the original LCD factory will only deal with the famous brand companies directly (such as Apple, Dell, Xiaomi, etc.), or through agents to ship. And the MOQ quantity requirement is very high (generally 1,000,000 pcs/month or more), the unit price of original LCD module is also high and the degree of customization is low.
LCD original manufacturers usually have an order MOQ requirement for their agents, which translates into an LCD unit quantity of no less than 100,000pcs/month. When the LCD demand is high, this will not be a problem; but when the market is low, the agent must buy the agreed MOQ quantity of LCD from the original LCD manufacturer even if there is no customer demand for the time being. So when the low season, if your order quantity is large enough, then you may get a very good LCD panel price from the LCD agent, which may even be lower than the agent’s purchase price.
LCD module manufacturers is to purchase LCD semi-finished products (such as LCD panel, COG or FOG) from LCD agents, then purchase ICs from IC agents, produce or purchase backlight, FPCA cable and touch screen components, and then integrate all the above components into LCD module or touch LCD module. LCD module factories vary in size from tens of millions of pcs to hundreds of thousands of pcs shipped per month.
Medium and large size module factory generally get the semi-finished products are FOG LCD (also known as open cell LCD) from the original LCD manufacturers or LCD agents, and then add the backlight assembly into the finished LCD module. The advantage of doing so is that the quality is relatively stable, but the degree of customization will be much lower. Because FOG LCD already includes FPCA cable, generally speaking, the only thing that can be customized is the brightness of the backlight and the touch panel and cover glass (if needed). The rest are difficult to change, unless the customer’s LCD demand is very large.
The small and medium size module factory after years of mature development of the industry, the degree of customization will be much more flexible. The semi-finished products are mainly LCD panels, which means that the backlight size, backlight brightness, FPCA cable design, shape and PIN number, as well as the touch panel and cover glass can all be customized according to the customer’s requirements. But the MOQ requirement is higher for the backlight size. Other parts of the customization generally require LCD MOQ of at least 2,000~5,000 pcs, which varies depending on the LCD size.
Since LCD module manufactures vary in size and quality control(especially small and medium size LCD module factories), and most of the components are sourced, the selection of module factories is particularly important if customers want to buy LCDs with good quality and competitive prices.
For example, if the factory’s customers are mostly low-cost products or repaired product manufacturers, then it can be assumed that the quality of his products is not too good, LCD panels and some other components may be B-grade products, not A, can only meet short-term use.
This is essential to ensure supply. In case of supply shortage, many module factories with insufficient upstream channels sometimes cannot even start production. Because they can not buy raw materials such as LCD panels and ICs.
As the name implies, trading companies do not have their own factories, but directly sell finished LCD products from LCD resellers or LCD modules from module manufacturers. Generally speaking, the LCD prices of trading companies are relatively high and the quality and reliability are a little weaker. However, there is no shortage of good trading companies with good quality management teams and good upstream channel resources. The biggest advantage of trading companies is their flexibility, which can meet the diversified needs of customers.
2) Shenzhen has 3 types of buildings related to lcd (including other electronic products): office buildings, factories and markets. Almost all LCD panel and IC agents are located in various office buildings in Shenzhen, while component factories such as FPCA, Touch panel and backlight are located in various industrial parks in the suburbs. It is possible to find the right components and develop new products in the shortest time. Of course, there is also the famous Huaqiang bei(north) Electronic Market, a very complex place.
VISLCD was a trading company in the early days. But after nearly 9 years of development, it has developed into a combination of LCD module factory and LCD agent. The company is located in LCD base Shenzhen, China and operates in both Hong Kong and Shenzhen. We have our own module factory and have direct relationship with Century Display, LG, HKC and other LCD original manufacturers. Our main employees are also from these LCD manufacturers. We also accept all kinds of customized LCD business. Therefore, VISLCD is one of the best choices for medium-sized customers in terms of quality stability, semi-finished parts supply and customization.
