If this does not work, you may want to get a Harmony Remote as this type of remote has much greater functionality than the basic universal remotes that you program based on a book of outdated manufacturer codes.

The codes provided in the manual for Toshiba DVD recorders are 188 and 273. Let us know if they work… We know you said 5 digits, but the Toshiba Manual says 3.

To program the iHandy remote control, use the manual the remote came with. It should tell you what to press to get it to work with your Pioneer DVD player.
