The Silhouette CAMEO® is the ultimate DIY machine. It uses a small blade to cut over 100 materials, including paper, cardstock, vinyl, and fabric up to 12 inches wide. The Cameo has the ability to register and cut printed materials and is PixScan™ compatible. What does this mean for you? It is our machine that has the largest cutting space and is most versatile in the materials it can cut.

The Silhouette CAMEO® 3 was released in August 2016. It has all of the same capabilities as the previous versions along with some added features. This Cameo features a dual carriage so you can use two tools at once, and it features Bluetooth® technology. To top it all off, the Cameo 3 is the only machine compatible with Silhouette’s AutoBlade, a self-adjusting blade.

The Silhouette CAMEO® is your standard in electronic cutting. Like a home printer, it plugs into your PC or Mac® and a power outlet. Use Silhouette Studio® software on your computer to design and create projects to send to your Cameo. And now that the Cameo has a dual carriage, you can do more than ever.

With the touch screen, you can load your media and access your machine settings. The Cameo 3 is our first machine to feature sounds to help you navigate through the screens. It also provides mini tutorials to help you if you get stuck or have questions about using your machine. Just click the settings icon in the corner of the screen and choose “Tutorial.”

The Cameo 3 has multiple storage compartments. With your lid open, there are places to keep extra blades on the left. On the top rack, you can keep blades, tools, or pens, and the pull-out drawer at the bottom opens for more storage.

By adjusting the white rollers on the main roller shaft, the Silhouette CAMEO® can cut the following media sizes: A4, letter, 12”, 13” (12 in. material on the cutting mat). The spring rollers have been designed for a strong yet gentle way to hold project materials in place.

If you are using a long piece of media, the crosscutter can be very helpful. It is basically a paper-cutter on the back of your machine. The crosscutter lets you separate your finished cut job from the remaining media in one quick stroke. With the crosscutter track attached directly to the back, you will get a perfectly straight edge every time. Then, when you use the remaining media for a different project, your Cameo will load the nice, even edge very easily. If you use rolls of vinyl, the crosscutter will be very helpful.

Cameo 3 features a dual carriage. Are you like us and are a little bit EXCITED about the project possibilities? The tools are marked with little red circle on the left and a blue circle on the right. Insert your tools (such as an AutoBlade and a sketch pen) into the corresponding tool holders assigned in your Send panel. Watch two different tools work in one cut job!

Cameo 3 is Bluetooth® compatible and allows wireless communication. The Silhouette CAMEO® “Bluetooth® Edition” includes a pre-installed adapter. For all other Cameo editions, Bluetooth® is enabled, but you will need to install a Bluetooth® adapter. The Bluetooth® adapter resides in the bottom of the machine in a compartment accessible with a basic screwdriver. Using Bluetooth® technology, your Cameo can receive cut jobs by devices other than your computer. This also means your Cameo will be able to receive cut jobs without being attached to your computer. Use Bluetooth® to get some of those pesky cords out of the way!

The Cameo 3 can stipple using a marker or felt-tip pen. Stippling is the process of making a design using a series of dots. You can turn any design from the Silhouette Design Store or any photo into a stipple design.

The Cameo 3 is able to read barcodes produced in the Registration Marks panel of the Silhouette Studio® software. Accessed through Business Edition, you can use the barcode scanning feature to print a barcode and registration marks onto Print & Cut pages. Then, load your printed page into your Cameo 3 and the optic scanner will read the barcode and access the file, cutting your design without needing the file open on your screen.

The Silhouette CAMEO 3 is a vinyl cutter that plugs into your PC or Mac with a simple USB cable and uses a small blade to cut over 100 materials, including paper, cardstock, vinyl, and fabric up to 12 inches wide and 10 feet long. When you replace the blade with a pen, the CAMEO can also sketch and ink stipple.

One of the main unique things about the Silhouette Cameo 3 is that it offers you a two-tool option. To access this option you’ll need to open the cut settings window. Once this setting has been activated, you will be in a position to use two tools simultaneously.

Under the settings option, you will be able to select from two modes: Standard Mode and Advanced Mode. The Standard Mode offers limited features because the left tool holder is always given first priority. If you need to work more efficiently, then all you’ll require doing is check the Advanced Mode setting and ultimately the Silhouette Cameo 3 machine will unlock its fullest potential.

Looking to create some multi-colored stippled ink decor? Worry no more because the Cameo 3 comes fully armed with this feature. To apply stipple all you’ll need to do is open the Stipple Window at the upper right end of your screen. Once you click on Stipple

Fill, you’ll access a variety of stippling options ranging from stripe, scallop, wave to chevron, zigzag and metal plate. Of course, there are a bunch of other tools that you can use to achieve even more customized settings with this program. So, once again, this is a feature you’ll only find in the Cameo 3 – other Cameos don’t have it.

Keeping up with the excellent track record associated with its elder siblings, the Cameo 3 comes with a print and cut feature. This feature makes it pretty easy to capture and send videos through the Studio software. Worth noting, however, is that the image will be printed with tiny registration marks near its extreme corners.

Once the material is printed, it’s transferred into the Cameo from where the machine automatically decodes the registration marks and determines the right way to cut out the image. This, therefore, makes a process that would otherwise be so involving to be quite easy and effortless.

In order to use this handy feature, you will require having a copy of the latest Silhouette Studio software (usually, V3 and upwards). The PixScan functionality can be easily accessed from the upper toolbar and also you can select the cutting mats using a drop-down menu on the “Page Settings” section to your right.

Finally, click on the PixScan menu at the top right section of your window, select import file, complete a few self-explanatory steps and voila, the image will replace the PixScan image on your screen. At that point, you’ll be ready to trace and cut the image as you’d like.

Hi all, not been on for a while but after many personal problems I am actually back crafting and hubby bought me the new Silhouette Cameo 3 for Christmas. Had played with the print and cut which is awesome then had a couple of days off. Just switched it back on to find that my touch pad appears not to be working. This is preventing me loading my media etc. I started the cut to see what would happen and managed to feed the mat and media into the machine. The cut is perfect but now on the display screen i have the Job Summary displayed and when I touch the "continue" button nothing is happening. Can anyone advise of what my problem is?

The Cameo 3 includes new carriages compatibility, wireless connectivity with Bluetooth, and some major upgrades to Silhouette Studio software which opens up a whole new world of opportunities for the users.

Before we jump on to the main review part, let us discuss some of the useful features of this advanced die-cutter machine from Silhouette I.e. Cameo 3.

The Cameo 3 edition has got everything that you would expect from the new generation cutting machine and we have enlisted all the new technology and features in the following list.2-in-1 functionality for cutting and printing

Silhouette has worked more on the looks of this new edition. If you have used the Cameo 2 machine from the same brand, then you would notice that the Cameo 3 looks bigger than the Cameo 2.

It carries a super sleek look and sits stable on your desk. It looks more attractive in terms of its looks compared to the previous editions of the Cameo series.

The Print and Cut is the standard feature in the Silhouette’s Cameo series. Cameo 3 also comes with this advanced feature which is actually very useful.

In order to use the Print and Cut feature on the Camera 3 machine, the first thing you need to do is upload the design you want to get printed on the Silhouette Studio software.

You can use this type of blade in most of your cutting projects as it is compatible to cut almost all types of compatible materials with the Cameo machine.

As the name suggests, the Premium Blade is a premium version of the standard blades and can be used to cut down a variety of materials on the Cameo 3 machine.

After placing the material on the mat, you need to take a picture from your phone’s camera and upload it on the Cameo 3’s Design Studio software for the printing process.

Compared to the previous edition I.e. Cameo 2, the Cameo 3 edition comes with extra-large storage space as the design of this edition is also larger than the Cameo 2.

Cameo 3 is the first edition featuring this new adjustable roller feature. It’s a simple and easy-to-use feature where you can easily pinch and adjust the roller’s setting.

The only drawback of this Cameo 3 machine is its weak cutting force. Compared to the previous editions, the actual cutting force of the Cameo 3 machine is weak.

With the built-in Bluetooth, you can easily connect your Cameo 3 machine wirelessly with the PC system I.e. Windows or Mac, iPad, iPhone, and even on Android devices.

You will get all the useful information if you are having any troubles while connecting to your device on a different PC system or Smartphone by following the how-to tutorials from Silhouette’s website.

Apart from this, the software has a special store from where you can purchase premium designs, logos, banners, and other useful things that can be printed out using the Cameo 3 machine.

No matter whether you have prior knowledge of using the Cameo 3 machine and its software or not, you will get to learn everything about the software and its functionality to work with the Cameo 3 machine by following the tutorials from the software itself.
