1.28inch lcd module free sample
LCD, or Liquid Crystal Displays, are great choices for many applications. They aren’t that power-hungry, they are available in monochrome or full-color models, and they are available in all shapes and sizes.
Waveshare actually has several round LCD modules, I chose the 1.28-inch model as it was readily available on Amazon. You could probably perform the same experiments using a different module, although you may require a different driver.
Open the Arduino folder. Inside you’ll find quite a few folders, one for each display size that Waveshare supports. As I’m using the 1.28-inch model, I selected theLCD_1inch28folder.
Once you do that, you can open your Arduino IDE and then navigate to that folder. Inside the folder, there is a sketch file namedLCD_1inch28.inowhich you will want to open.
Unfortunately, Waveshare doesn’t offer documentation for this, but you can gather quite a bit of information by reading theLCD_Driver.cppfile, where the functions are somewhat documented.
Here is the hookup for the ESP32 and the GC9A01 display. As with most ESP32 hookup diagrams, it is important to use the correct GPIO numbers instead of physical pins. The diagram shows the WROVER, so if you are using a different module you’ll need to consult its documentation to ensure that you hook it up properly.
The GC9A01 LCD module is a 1.28-inch round display that is useful for instrumentation and other similar projects. Today we will learn how to use this display with an Arduino Uno and an ESP32.
The driver used in this LCD is GC9A01, with a resolution of 240RGB×240 dots and 129600 bytes of GRAM inside. This LCD supports 12-bits/16-bits/18-bits data bus by MCU interface, which are RGB444, RGB565, RGB666.
For most LCD controllers, the communication method of the controller can be configured, they are usually using 8080 parallel interface, 3-line SPI, 4-line SPI, and other communication methods. This LCD uses a 4-line SPI interface for reducing GPIO and fast speed.LCD
This watch-shaped round IPS LCD can be useful for various creative applications such as smart wearables. This circular IPS LCD has a 1.28-inch round screen that supports multicolor RGB with 65K bit depth (color levels). It is a 240x240 pixels LCD. This circular LCD module is compatible with the SPI (4-Wire) communication interface. You can use this 1.28-inch circular IPS LCD with most boards that are compatible with the 4-Wire SPI interface. The watch-shaped LCD module has an onboard controller GC9A01 embedded driver chip. Development resources, manuals, and examples are included for Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and STM32.
The 1.28" LCD display convinces with its high-resolution IPS display and its circular display surface. With a color depth of 65,000 colors, the display is of particularly high quality.
RP2040-LCD-1.28 is a low-cost, high-performance MCU board designed by Waveshare. Tiny size with onboard 1.28inch LCD round display, Li-ion battery recharge manager, 6-axis sensor (3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis gyroscope) and so on, adapting all GPIO and Debug pins, which makes it easy for you to develop and integrate it into products quickly.
