I"ve moved up 3 phone models since using this, an A21, A42, now a Samsung Z Fold 4. This app still works wonderfully! I don"t get noticeable lag, however after running this I notice a differece. I tap (or swipe) with one finger, but crazy fast with a light touch. I run this once a month or so, then it always feels better, smoother, and even quicker. I wouldn"t say this is a "last resort" app, but a great maintenance app. Kudos! Been using a while now, very happy! (only a 5 second ad at end too!)

However, if the digitizer or LCD is also damaged during a fall, that screen no longer carries value because it cannot be refurbished. Repair shops cannot sell broken LCDs to refurbishing companies; therefore, they cannot offset the cost of an LCD repair. That is why repair stores often charge a little extra if there is damage to the LCD or digitizer, to make up for that loss. Repair stores that don’t have an additional charge for an LCD repair typically inflate their glass repair price to make up for the loss from damaged LCDs. If they have one price, that means everyone is paying more to cover the cost of customers who have damaged LCDs and customers who only have cracked glass. This is why TCR separates the price of glass and LCD repairs for you! If you only have cracked glass, you only have to worry about paying to replace the cracked glass.

If your phone or tablet’s glass is shattered there will be cracks or chips on the screen itself. If it is just the glass that is damaged, the device may still function and you may be able to use it normally. If this is the case, it is likely that only the glass needs to be replaced. To prevent further damage to your device it is best to get it repaired quickly. For example, if liquids seep through the cracks it could cause permanent damage to the LCD.

Many people may continue to use their touchscreen with shattered glass and delay fixing the glass on their devices; however, if the touchscreen isn’t responsive, it could be a sign of more significant damage to the device’s digitizer which is integrated with the LCD screen.

A pixelated screen can indicate LCD damage. This would look like a patch of multicolored dots, a line or lines of discoloration, or a screen with rainbow colors. For many people, these colors are an easy way to know that their LCD is broken and that they should get it repaired.

Dropping your phone isn’t the only reason you’ll end up with a pixelated screen. Over time, your screen’s LCD may break down through regular use. This happens to other devices aside from your smartphone or tablet. Pixelation can happen to TVs and computers, too. People typically decide to buy a new device when this happens. Fortunately, with an LCD repair, you can fix the device without needing to replace it.

A black screen or black spots on your smartphone or tablet is an indication of a damaged LCD. Often with a bad LCD, a phone may still turn on and make noises, but there is no clear picture. This does not necessarily mean any other part of the phone is damaged and a simple screen replacement will get it functioning again. Sometimes it can mean a battery or other internal component is damaged. It is best to have a highly qualified phone repair technician diagnose what is wrong so the appropriate repair can be made.

Fortunately, your mobile device is fixable whether you cracked the glass or damaged the LCD. Stop by or call TCR: Triangle Cellular Repair at (919) 263-2699 for a free diagnostic and quick, affordable cell phone repair in Chapel Hill and surrounding areas. We’re always happy to help!

On top of call difficulties, a broken speaker can also cause problems when watching videos or listening to podcasts. First, carefully check your phone to determine if there is any external damage. If nothing is visible, make sure the latest software update is installed on your device. In addition, try some basic troubleshooting by turning your phone on and off while leaving it unplugged.

Once a phone has water damage — from small spills to a full liquid plunge — there’s often no easy fix. The first step should be to check if your smartphone’s Liquid Contact Indicator has been activated. Most models, including Apple, LG and Samsung, have small visible indicators to show whether water damage has occurred. Consider peace of mind for those inevitable accidents with Verizon’s Verizon Protect or  Total Mobile Protection. Not only is your phone covered if it gets water damage, you may be eligible for a full replacement that same day.

From the rays in a hot car to a sunny day spent at the beach, high temps and direct sunlight can cause serious and lasting damage to a smartphone. Extreme heat can damage a smartphone’s internal components and result in slower speeds or even loss of data. And often the damage is not visible from the outside.

Sometimes, the screen damage is not the actual reason for the unresponsiveness. There might be some issue with the memory card or SIM card. In this situation, you should try removing the SD or SIM card from your phone:

Mostly Android touch screen doesn’t work due to the screen protector. Even though a screen protector protects your phone’s screen from damage, dust, scratches, and water drops, it can also cause issues, such as the touchscreen not working.

If there is any scratch on the screen protector or is completely damaged, then thetouchscreen of your phone won’t respond. In this case, the best solution would be to remove the protector.

However, it will only work if the issue is happening due to the screen protector. If it is not working, then there must be some other issue with your phone screen. Hence, follow the other listed solutions.

It is a temporary solution to this issue, but you can use it until you find the actual reason or fix the issue permanently. You don’t only need to rely on the touch screen to control the phone. There are other options too to navigate through the phone.

You can try the 3-party apps to use the face or voice recognition feature to access your phone. However, this trick can only work if your phone touchscreen is at least partially working so that you can download the app.

To control the phone with the voice, you can use Google’s Voice Access app. This app will listen to your commands & assign a number for each action available on the phone screen. After this, you don’t need to tap on the screen.

Now, just call out the assigned number.Voice Access app also fixes the phrases for certain actions. For example, if you say go back, the app will take you back to the previous screen.

The EVA Facial Mouse app is a virtual cursor that can let you navigate through your phone using face recognition technology. To move the phone screen, simply move your phone in that direction.

If the above-given solutions failed for you, then you can try to boot your phone into Safe Mode to fix the problem. It will help you to recognize whether the touchscreen issue is caused due to any of the recently installed apps.

If your Android touchscreen works properly afterbooting the device into the Safe Mode, then it means the recent third-party app was a culprit behind this problem. Once you find out about the troublesome 3rd party app, simply uninstall it on your phone.

If your touch screen problem is not affecting your ability to download apps from the Play Store, then download and install an anti-malware application and scan your device. Maybe this can fix all your problems.

There are various apps available in the Play Store that can calibrate your device’s touch screen and improve its accuracy and responsiveness. These apps are very much effective particularly when your touch screen responds inaccurately or responds too slow.

Open Play Store, type “touch screen calibration” in the search bar and you will get a few results. Check the ratings and read the review carefully before you download them.

Wondering why my phone touchscreen is not working? If so, you should try 3rd party apps tofix display issues on your Android phone. There are so many apps on the Google Play Store that can diagnose the touchscreen problem of your phone.

These apps will help you to pinpoint what is wrong with your phone screen. For this, I recommend using the Display Tester. First, download and install the app on your device and then follow these instructions:

Here, you will get a bunch of options to test the issue from all aspects. With this tool, you can detectburn-in on OLED screens, dead pixels, the accuracy of saturation and contrast, multi-touch status, etc.

If the touch screen is totally unresponsive on an Android phone/tablet, then it is time to perform factory on the device. As doing this will erase all data on your Android device, you should only go with this option if nothing else is working out for you.

If your Android phone or tablet screen has been physically damaged due to several reasons such as a dropped the device in water, on the floor from a high distance, smashing the screen, or breaking the device then the touch screen could be damaged and thus stop responding.

The first thing we are going to do is use the star codes to check if the touchscreen of the Android phone or tablet is working or not. First, dial the start codes compatible with your Android device.

Simply dial the codes, to open the device’s diagnostic mode. Once you enter into diagnostic mode, you can test the touchscreen for bugs and dead zones.

In this case, you can try one trick. Simply, knock each corner of the touch screen 2-3 times and then see if the Android unresponsive touchscreen issue has been resolved or not. If it is still not working, then you can try the next fixes.

There are some instances where the Android touch screen stopped responding after the phone is dropped into the water or due to some reason water drops gets inside the screen.

Nevertheless, you can still fix this problem and get your phone screen back to its normal working condition. For this, you must check out the guide on how to how to fix unresponsive touch screen on Android damaged by water.

This is a straightforward solution, if there is a hardware issue with your phone, then you don’t have any other option but to buy a new touchscreen for your phone.

There are some cases, where the phone touchscreen can be accessed partially. In this situation, the 3rd party apps can help you out in resolving the problem and enhancing the screen latency. There are so many apps that can calibrate the phone screen to decrease the response time.

This tool will suggest you click on several sections of the touchscreen. After doing this, the app will reduce the latency according to the phone model.

Many people ask how to fix unresponsive touch screen Android but before that, is important to know what are the reasons for the touch screen not working on Android, right?

Physical damage– Maybe your Android phone is damaged or broken. Or maybe it’s due to moisture detected issues, high temperature, static electricity, cold, etc can lead to touch screen damage on Android phones.

The Android touch screen is not working/became unresponsive? Now, wondering how to recover data from an unresponsive touch screen of an Android phone?

You can use the user guide to find out how Android Data Recovery Toolworks in order to recover data from an Android device with an unresponsive touch screen.

Yes, the cracked screen affects the responsiveness of the touchscreen. When the phone screen gets cracked, the digitizer, an important component of the phone, starts interrupting the touch of the screen. But when the phone screen totally get damaged, the digitizer gets exposed to water, dust, moisturewhich leads to major damage.

If you see a phone’s screen then it has two major parts: the actual LCD and the glass. The glass of the screen can be replaced easily but when the LCD gets damaged the repairing of the device becomes a risky task.

There are ways to fix the cracked screen temporarily. You can use a screen protector or tape to fix it. First, clean the phone screen as much you can and put packaging tape over the screen. If there is some extra tape then remove it. And now you can use the phone as before but remember, it’s a temporary fix.

Though the most Android phone touchscreen issue can be solved by removing the screen protector and cleaning the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. but if that doesn’t work, you can try the other ways shared in this blog to solve how to fix unresponsive touch screen Android phone issue.

On the other, you may also lose your important and valuable data from your device, hence it is recommended that you must try Android Data Recovery Softwareto recover data from an Android device whose touch screen is not working or became unresponsive.

You probably touch your phone"s screen hundreds of times per day. Combined with its delicate glass build, it"s no surprise that smartphone touchscreens are one of the most common components to run into issues.

But the touch screen not working on your Android phone isn"t always the result of a hardware failure. If your phone touchscreen often isn"t working or fails to respond, there"s a lot you can do before getting professional help.

First, you should rule out the possibility of a software bug if your phone touch screen is not working. There are a handful of troubleshooting steps you can do to confirm this.

A good-old reboot might sound futile to fix such an advanced issue. However, it"s often one of the most successful ways to fix an unresponsive touch screen on Android. Restarting your phone shuts down and refreshes all background services, which could have crashed and led to your issue.

If you"re unable to touch the screen to select the option, on most devices, you can hold down the Power button for several seconds to switch off your phone. In some cases, you may need to hold down the Power button and the Volume Up button at the same time.

If your touch screen is not working, but only intermittently, then you may be able to re-boot your phone into safe mode. Android"s safe mode lets you use your phone with only the original software it shipped with, which strips out all services and apps you"ve installed. If your display works normally in safe mode, a third-party app is likely at fault here.

To enter safe mode on most new Android devices, press and hold the power button. In the resulting prompt, touch and hold the Power off button. Once you see the prompt to enter safe mode, tap OK, and your phone will soon restart. To exit safe mode, just restart your phone normally.

If you"re scratching your head wondering, "Why is my phone touchscreen not working?", you"ll find a range of apps on the Play Store that could help you to diagnose your display issues. These are designed to pinpoint what exactly is wrong with your phone"s touchscreen. We recommend trying out one simply called Display Tester.

When you launch Display Tester, head into its Tests tab. Here, you have the option to test a whole bunch of aspects. The app can detect dead pixels, burn-in on OLED screens, whether the contrast and saturation are accurate, multi-touch status, and more.

If you got positive results in touch-based tests, you should review all recently installed apps or consider performing a factory reset. Since your touchscreen functioned as intended under special circumstances, a third-party app is most likely the root cause.

Many people apply a screen protector on their phones as an added safety against drops and scratches. But that same sheet of plastic or glass could prevent your touch signals from reaching the display panel.

If your phone"s screen has been acting up lately, try removing the protector. Of course, this doesn"t guarantee a fix. However, it could increase the response rate on an already weak screen.

Touchscreen Repair is a lightweight app that calibrates your screen to reduce response times. The app asks you to consecutively tap several sections of the touchscreen. Based on your phone"s internals, it then artificially drops the latency as much as possible.

The effectiveness of Touchscreen Repair varies depending on your phone maker. Many OEMs ship their phones with optimal response rates. In those scenarios, Touchscreen Repair won"t be able to do much. But it"s worth a try if nothing else has worked yet.

You don"t have to rely on touch inputs to control your phone. To better serve users with accessibility needs, voice and facial-based interaction methods for Android have come a long way.

With the right apps, you can navigate on your phone entirely through your voice and facial movements. Of course, these solutions only apply if your phone"s touchscreen works enough to install an app from the Play Store.

Else, you can try installing the app to your phone through the Play Store web interface. And you can disable touchscreen input on your phone until you get the screen fixed.

Google"s Voice Access app proactively listens for your commands and assigns a number to every action available on the screen. Instead of touching an app icon or menu element, you just have to call out the assigned digit.

Voice Access links fundamental actions to fixed phrases. So you can say "screen down" for moving around pages and "go back" to return to the previous screen, for example.

This app does exactly what its name suggests. It adds a virtual cursor on your screen, which you can manipulate with your face. To move the pointer, you simply have to move your head in the appropriate direction.

If you can"t install any apps due to screen problems, connecting an external keyboard and mouse might do the trick. This assumes you can still see the screen, though.

It"s important to understand the difference between water-resistant and waterproof. A water accident can permanently damage your phone"s internals if you leave it on. Thus, in such scenarios, your best course of action is to shut down the device and wait for it to dry.

With these possible fixes, you should hopefully be able to revive your phone"s touchscreen if it"s just a software bug. Failing that, the apps mentioned can grant you a temporary workaround.

Otherwise, you will have to visit a service center for help. If you"re lucky, a professional will be able to restore the touchscreen"s functions, although depending on the device, it may be a pricey repair. If not, you"ll have to look at replacing your phone.

Your Android touch screen might not be working for various reasons. Hopefully, one of the fixes above helped solve your touch screen issues. If everything fails, perhaps it"s time to upgrade.

Ghost touch is a frustrating screen issue you can encounter with Android displays. It"s when your screen reacts to touches that aren"t happening and starts moving or tapping buttons on its own.

This ghost touch issue can be more annoying than a physically damaged screen. To help, we"ve compiled a list of suggestions to help you resolve the ghost touch issue on your Android device.

Ghost touch occurs when your phone screen responds to inputs or presses that you didn"t initiate, or when there is a part of your screen that is entirely unresponsive to your touch. In this state, your phone opens apps by itself and randomly taps on buttons without you even touching the screen.

If you"re experiencing ghost touch, it"s probably not a software issue. In usually it"s a physical problem with display components, like a faulty digitizer or a cracked screen. In some cases, dirt underneath the screen or water damage causes ghost touch.

However, because there is no single definitive source of or solution to ghost touch, you will have to fix it through trial and error by attempting each of the solutions below.

Surprisingly, ghost touch difficulties often occur only when phones are plugged in. This is especially likely if you use a low-quality charger or cable. Basically, these chargers and charging cables affect the functionality of the screen digitizer, which is the layer of your phone that reads your touch signals.

Having many open apps in the background can cause various problems. In general, applications running in the background can cause software glitches, which may lead to ghost touch. Therefore, clearing them is a good initial troubleshooting step.

Although the process may vary from one Android device to another, the general guide is to open the overview panel by hitting the overview button or swiping halfway up from the bottom of the screen. If gesture navigation is enabled, you can swipe up from the bottom of your screen to clear each application.

The display requires direct contact from your fingers to perform any activity. This means that when the screen holds foreign particles, such as dirt from your fingers or dust from the environment, that dirt can impact your screen"s performance and cause ghost touch. So clean your touchscreen regularly to rid it of dirt and grime.

You may also experience ghost touch if your screen is cracked. So keep your phone safe from cracks or scratches. If the worst happens, follow our guide on how to handle a cracked phone screen.

Screen protectors are extremely useful for protecting your phone from cracks and scratches, but they can also cause issues. If dust or moisture gets between the screen protector and your screen, it can cause ghost touch problems.

Low-quality protectors also do more harm than good to your phone screen. The poor quality of materials used to make such screen protectors affects the touch sensitivity of the screen beneath it.

Try removing your screen protector to see if that fixes matters. If it does, wipe your screen clean, and then replace the protector with a higher-quality one.

The operating temperature of your smartphone must be at a certain level for it to function properly. For your screen to also work without issues, take breaks between usages and avoid using your screen at a stretch to prevent overheating.

Also, avoid using your phone in extreme heat, such as in direct sunlight. Heat causes electromagnetic interference, which disrupts your device"s performance and may trigger ghost touch.

As previously stated, ghost touch is rarely the result of a software glitch. Even so, outdated software or bugs can cause your phone to create ghost touch problems. Ensure your device and apps are up to date to fix these, as most bugs get patched with updates.

Assuming your device is up to date, another way to fix software-related ghost touch problems is to reset all your settings and content to default. If buggy software or an unruly app is the cause, this will fix ghost touch by eliminating underlying software issues causing it.

If you haven"t been able to fix your phone"s ghost touch problem, it may be time to replace the screen. Perhaps the screen is deteriorating, water got into it, or it has a faulty component. In those instances, you"ll need to find a trained technician to replace the screen.

Like other screen issues, the best way to resolve ghost touch is to take your device to a service center for a fix. If your phone is still under warranty, your phone"s manufacturer may offer to replace it with a new one or may choose to repair or replace the screen instead to try to fix the issue.

While there are several potential causes of ghost touch on Android, you can perform basic troubleshooting steps to fix most of them. If the basic fixes don"t work for you, seek out a qualified technician to disassemble or replace your screen.

LCD Displays are interfaces of human and machine. They expose to various environments, especially now that COVID-19 spreading around the world. So it"s impossible to keep a screen clean all the time. When you are going to clean an LCD display,do you have the right steps in mind?Maybe what you"ve been doing is not right!

LCD screens could have different top layers. For example, there are glass, plastic, coating, or protective bezels. Each one of them is different. Therefore, each type of screen should not be cleaned in only one way. In fact, the most appropriate way is written in product manual. Take Topway HMT070ETD-1D, a 7 inch Smart TFT LCD Display with capacitive touch screen, as an example. Cleaning precautions are as follow: Only clean LCD with a soft dry cloth. Isopropyl Alcohol or Ethyl Alcohol. Other solutions(e. g. water) may damage the LCD.

LCD screens are fragile. Before cleaning an LCD display, you should turn it off completely, disconnect it from power supply,  and let it cool down for a few minutes. This will eliminate danger of electrocution and make it easier to see dust on screen.

Don’t press down hard while cleaning, because that action may damage top layers or coating. Spray a little cleaning solution, such as isopropyl alcohol diluted with either pure or distilled water, onto a microfiber cloth and gently wipe the display in either an up and down or side to side motion. Too much pressure can compromise limited durability of even the most rugged LCD screens.

It is dangerous that an LCD display directly contacts with any liquids (especially when they’re still plugged in). A safer and smarter approach is to first wipe the screen with a dry cloth, then spray a small amount of cleaning solution onto another cloth and wipe gently. After that, wipe with another clean, dry cloth to remove the residual liquid.

Never use ammonia or rubbing alcohol based cleaners on LCD screens. They will damage the extremely delicate coating on top of screens, and negatively alter viewing experience, especially in strong sunlight.

Dust in gaps where bezels and top layers meet can cause internal damage to LCD displays. Regularly using a vacuum with a soft-bristled brush (to prevent scratching) can be helpful.

Now you know how to clean an LCD screen safely and correctly, if you find it helpful, please share this article with your friends. If there are more questions about LCD displays, please feel free to leave us a message.

Accidental Damage is any damage due to an unintentional act that is not the direct result of a manufacturing defect or failure. Accidental damage is not covered under the standard warranty of the product. Such damage is often the result of a drop or an impact on the LCD screen or any other part of the product which may render the device non-functional. Such types of damage are only covered under an Accidental Damage service offering which is an optional add-on to the basic warranty of the product. Accidental Damage must not be confused with an occasional dead or stuck pixel on the LCD panel. For more information about dead or stuck pixels, see the Dell Display Pixel Guidelines.

No, accidental damage is covered for Dell computers or monitors which are covered under the Accidental Damage Service offering for that specific product.

For more information about Dell Limited Hardware Warranty and Dell"s Accidental Damage service offering, see the Dell Warranty & Support Services page.

NOTE: Other damages may be considered customer induced if determined by Dell Technical Support, an on-site field engineer, or at the mail-in repair center.

The LCD glass on the display is manufactured to rigorous specifications and standards and will not typically crack or break on its own under normal use. In general, cracked, or broken glass is considered accidental damage and is not covered under the standard warranty.

Internal cracks typically occur due to excessive force on the screen. This can be the result of some object hitting the screen, a drop, attempting to close the lid while an object is on the keypad area, or even holding the laptop by its screen.

Spots typically occur due to an external force hitting the screen causing damage to the LCD panel"s backlight assembly. While the top layer did not crack or break, the underlying area was compressed and damaged causing this effect.

If your Dell laptop LCD panel has any accidental damage but the laptop is not covered by the Accidental Damage service offering, contact Dell Technical Support for repair options.

Dell monitors cannot be repaired by an on-site field engineer or at the mail-in repair center. If you notice any damage to the monitor, you must purchase a new monitor.

I’m sure you aren’t very keen how water works on electronics. Rice doesn’t really absorb moisture like you think it does with electronics. The starch that is in rice actually speeds up the corrosion process on the motherboard, which leads to things not working on the device, or complete device failure. It also kinda “suffocates” the phone, and doesn’t allow air to vent through the device.

The proper way to leave a phone that has been water damaged recently if you don’t know how to take it apart Is to immediately power it off, to avoid a short circuit on the board, sit it on a ventilated area, or out in the sun for a few hours if you are unable to take it to a Genius Bar.

1.) the main picture on this page includes the blue “adhesion” screen. It didn’t come with one. The main reason I bought this kit over the 10+ other ones that are available is because this one supposedly offered this.

3.) the video is extremely slow in some parts (almost painfully) - which are the obvious parts, and then completely skips over a few key things. One concrete example that I can think of is at the end simply showing from a disconnected 2nd (single one) ribbon for the screen and the next frame of the video shows you the ribbon connected connected. You had to figure out which way to turn the cable (turns out by 90*) and how to attach it. If you have done this, easy, but I can see this really frustrating someone as the ‘easier’ way to attach it is without turning. The other one that was even more annoying was camera angle/zoom level of removing the ear piece/light sensor/camera module ribbon-attachment. This is debatably the hardest part of the entire repair, and it was some of the worst camera work. After that it resumes to nice camera work again showing it all put together...thanks, but not useful at all.

4.) The video does NOT move the camera module holder (white plastic piece that aligns the camera to the opening on the screen). Check iFix it and other videos for comparison. Even worse - the new case did not come with the camera module holder!! Without that holder, there is no way for the camera to stay in place as you move/shake/run with the phone. If it moves even a millimeter, it will no longer be aligned within the opening. If you check the alternative cases, the “quality” ones - the new replacements come with the camera alignment pre-built. This felt like yet another thing they cheap-ed out on. I popped the old one off the old screen and reused it.

5.) The tools are horrifically cheap. I know these are one time tools, but these were just “extra” cheap. To the point that the screwdriver started tearing by the last screw. The screen pick tore when cutting the adhesive after heating it up. I’ve literally never used worse tools. Every other screen/battery replacement “kit” Ive purchased to date has come with one-time/temporary tools...but they have lasted through the repair and are usually good for many more. Good thing I had nicer tools. One positive however is that the tools they included were at least magnetized. This I have to give to them, as most of the other vendors “cheaper” tools are not magnetized. I know it’s an easy to make them magnetic, but almost all skip it, so plus a point here!

Overall, it just felt like they cheaped out in every possible place. I would recommend going with a different vendor for your screen+digitizer replacement.
