If you haven"t been trained, qualified and authorized, then you rendered your HP warranty void. No certified HP repair facility will assist you free of charge in that state of your notebook. Don"t know if you"re able to restore that HP warranty by reverting back to original state. And you"ll want to ask such facilities if they accept orders to transform model to a different one. The touch screen variant of your model name will have a different model number. Not all certified facilities are trained nor accepting such changes.

If you aren"t qualified and accept the loss of your HP warranty, then follow the service manuals instructions. As far as I understood, you didn"t order all the replacement parts needed, especially the cable kit mentioned in the service manual of the display replacement section? If I remember correctly, changing of non-touch display to touch display needs different cable wiring. But I"m not a trained nor qualified HP service technician and hence can"t provide authoritive answers.

So why do you follow your believe instead of the HP training? As mentioned above, it seems that a cable for touch feature is included in the cable kit specified in the service manual. Don"t have such a cable kit to check.
